  1. what dear god i hope not At least there'd be no relocation expenses, as like most of sundlund's staff he already lives in Newcastle.
  2. Not really wishing to add to the silliness but I'd rather have Pardew than O'Neill. To take it to a totally insane level some macums are concerned that we may be lining up Bruce. One Chrissy Hughton, one Chrissy Hughton.....................................
  3. A loss and it's curtains... for getting 3 points from this game. You Evertonians shouldn't be allowed on here. You're just far too level headed. Whats wrong with having bi-polar mood swings and knee jerking like we do ?
  4. Don't think it is, it's the press and then the fans who seem to be getting uptight about it. Thing that is affecting the team is missing key players and the rather lacklustre performances of some of the stand ins and those who remain.
  5. Not to mention that we have 6 absolute first choice players to return between the next match and March, Gosling to enter the equation and hopefully the addition of an experienced quality striker in January. We're going down then... Dunno if you read the "hopefully". The others are givens, the striker bit is a desire. While desirable I don't, as you seem to, think it's the difference between staying up and going down, but extra quality in the final third of the pitch will help enormously.

  7. No, no - you've got it all wrong. The target was European qualification and that's what all the fans demanded. We've in actual fact been relegated already due to a new rule that says the instant teams drop out of the top half of the table they're automatically doomed. Sometimes, sarcasm explains things best.
  8. It's not just a manager's job to pick the lineup you know. The tactics were horrid. The side we put out yesterday was the type of side we'd have played in the Carling Cup 2nd round if we had a full squad, i.e. a virtual 2nd eleven. There's not much Hughton can do about having so many big players out at the same time, but that said there was a serious lack of desire which is the manager's problem to address. If we had equalised (and we nearly did) we would have looked like a different side and not lost, but that's a huge IF of course. Anyone else begining to realise just how important the assured quality of Colocinni is to the team in this league ?
  9. Enrique even got a seven ! He was terrible - at the moment he's doing as many bad things as good, and it's costing us. I love the kid but he needs to stop believing the publicity and start knuckling down again.
  10. Thought WBA were very average but we were awful. Rotten team performance, looked like relegation fodder. Fortunately we have big players to come back in, today we were essentially a reserve team (the type of team we'd have used against a lower league team in the Carling Cup) and we looked like it. This "group of lads" have to start getting serious about things again.
  11. *shiver* Newcastle, basically. Not really correct. There was more to sundlund's bid than just Newcastle. There was also Bamburgh, Durham and err.... Stockton on Tees.
  12. Anton Ferdinand :2funny: They're paying him galactico money. He hates the place, they think he's shyte but no other club would pay him half of what they do. Trapped.
  13. This So would Hughton and that's about all it boils down to.
  14. Olivier Bernard. We didn't even get a free kick, Everton got the ball back and won a penalty in the same passage of play. Thats right. I remember being really angry and the article was highlighting how "big" the incident was. Seems like some things never change for us !
  15. Not even 'please detail why, or why not', just a straight 'why not?' Not even 'please detail why, or why not', just a straight 'why not?' Should ask all the Sunderland players, management and directors to fill it out. Conclusion would be that none of them live, shop, socialise or would even consider dirtying their expensive shoes in the place.
  16. Would be a good idea, but there again so would a Saturday evening football paper, perhaps on the same colour paper as the Financial Times. Remember going into a bar in Italy several years ago on a Monday evening and picking up a discarded Gazetta del Sport - we were one of the headline stories - about a horrendous tackle by Thomas Gravesen of Everton on one of our players from the day befores match. Can't remember who the player was ??
  17. Are they kidding ? http://www.metroradio.co.uk/Article.asp?id=2025715&spid=20431 May enter using my full name Steven Michael Brown.
  18. Just took a look at that pisspoor awful forum of theirs - there must be 10 threads about Barcelona and Real Madrid on the first page. Obviously obsessed with ALL the big clubs
  19. Hoping for a mixed team personally. About half the team first teamers, the rest youngsters. Would really like to see Tiote and Vuckic at CM. Obviously depending on our injury situation and form by then as well of course. Much will depend on how league results go between now and then, as to how many first choicers he'll risk. Ideal situation would be to be way ahead of target for survival and therefore able to have a full on go at the FA cup.
  20. Perch has been written off far too quickly, but sadly that's quite typical of many on here. He started steady and played his part in some good performances, his form dipped and anxiety increased as crowd stopped supporting him. Despite a couple of good games after his return, I see very little between Simpson and Perch. Perch will still play a part this season.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

C'est magnifique. I like this line: Superb line ! Does "back" mean in training or playing ?
  22. We played them in the 1987 FA Cup? EDIT: Oh no. Now I've posted that, someone over at the SMB board will see it. We're nothing but fairweather fans that know nothing of our history! Who didn't realise there even was a football team in Newcastle until 1992 and before that they only got gates of 2,000 and now they're deluded cunts who think they're bigger than Barcleona....blah....blah....yawn yawn.
  23. Anyone going to be up before the kangaroo court after this weekends games, or is it just Newcastle players that the media like to go for ?
  24. Dunno if anyone has said it, but amongst all the crack about players/managers etc, great credit to the ground staff and stadium managers for getting what turned out to be an excellent match played yesterday. It must have taken a lot of hard work to make it happen.
