Brewcie. Wembo. Only sane manager they've had since Keano rolled into town. Shame for them he was a Geordie and when the going got tough........

I've not been on here for a while as my time has been mainly taken up by my extra counselling sessions, and long ponderous walks in the country At the time of that thread there were plenty of us Sunderland fans on there posting that the season was going to be a disaster, and we we shot down with the usual Mag kernt, WUM or bedwetter responses. I was accused of being all three for politely pointing out that this season was going to be a disaster, based purely on what recent SAFC history has taught us and that DI Canio and Di Fanti were useless. Sadly, and predictably, I was right. It actually looks like we'll probably be relegated before our last two homes games. I bet those are a barrel of laughs, and I wouldn't much fancy being a Sunderland player on those two days. The season hasn't been all bad. Taking six points from you lot, and the cup final were fantastic, and something I though I'd never see as a Sunderland fan, and I'll always look at those days with happiness. But the overriding feeling I'll get when it all comes to it's inevitable conclusion "oh well, we're down again", which in itself is quite damning. We have to stick with Poyet, as constantly changing managers has been a nightmare. But he must git rid of the poison we've accumulated over the last 4 or 5 years, and start again in the Championship. Many Sunderland fans, and some fans from other clubs, think we'll come straight back up. I don't. I think the play-offs would be a more realistic target, and would be happy with that. I'm obviously disappointed with the way the season has gone, but it's came as no surprise, and the blow has been softened by the fact that many of us seen it coming. I know it's a cliché, but fuck it. Sunderland til I die ! A fair bit of truth, common sense and gold old fashioned Sunderland "resignation to your lot" in there. You're obviously a lot better qualified to talk about Sunderland than I am, but two points in the post I'd comment on are, why should you stick with Poyet ? Sure stability is a great thing and regularly binning managers is unlikely to work but six months or so into the job it just doesn't look like he fits with the club to me. If that is the case you're best rid of. There are the usual nominations for scapegoats for your current position but what has happened over the last couple of months is largely down to him and some awful decision making. The other point is finishing top 6 next season if you go down. Again, you know better but I just can't see you achieving that. There are some big problems with your personnel, and possibly finances too, which may mean you don't yo-yo this time and could be away from the big league for quite a while.

They have generally looked a very poor side all season and the cup run just a flash in the pan, but leaving SJP after the 0-3 somebody made a comment about them still going down and I said there is no way they will go down now. It's taken a fuck up of spectacular magnitude to put them where they are a couple of months later.

Quite unbelievable, though of course amusing for us, that when Poyet threw the game against Hull, and with it almost certain European qualification, they also lost all heart and have gone from a possible mid table finish to almost relegation certainties. It has to be one of the biggest managerial fuck ups of all time.

A brilliant microcosm of life in the dark place Patting themselves on the back about what great supporters they are (forget the 15K gate for the FA Cup QF or the 20 odd thousand who pitched up for the semi final against ManU of course), but rapidly descends into full on half-wittery with the inevitable threats thrown in for good measure. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/just-got-back.902541/

..... but isn't it quite well known that mackems cheat when they run half marathons ? In much the same way as their football club do by playing unregistered players in league and league cup matches.

It is just that basically we hate everyone, but love Newcastle TO do with the miners' strikes and them crossing the pickets, is it not? Nope. It was sung long before then and was sung by every clubs' fans not just ours. It was one of "the" chants of the time and I remember an old MOTD commentator saying something like "Nottingham Forest - the team everyone hates". Of course the really important part to remember is the emphatic "and Leicester" after "Sunderland too". Dunno who the Forest fans used to use in lieu - possibly Tottenham Hotspur ?? Anyway to answer the OP I'd love to see Forest back up, it's been far too long.

http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/11120427.Sunderland_s_transfer_trouble__How_19_signings_produced_precious_few_gems/ That must be sickening to read for sunderland fans. How was that transfer policy ever sanctioned and if anything it's been even worse since Poyet arrived ? They're in a big mess.

I saw Poyet interviewed tonight and speaking about Adam Johnson he said that the fans had complained about him not starting but he felt that he was not contributing enough when he did. He went on to raise the question that if he started him and he didn't contribute would it be the fans fault and not his ? Fucking bizarre stuff for a manager to be saying.

We've been fined. Months ago. For a clerical error. Hey, not just me mate the finest minds in football are saying the same. While it would have been easy to apply justice for the league games it would have been a huge embarrassment for them considering he played in a League Cup game too and they're probably hoping you just go down quietly so they can conveniently sweep it under the carpet. In the unlikely event you survive there will be a s*** storm and they may have to act correctly to keep what little integrity the league still has. To be honest if it was another team I'd be waiting for them to be deducted points. The fact is they knew months ago and a journalist has sat on the story til now. It's a farce the whole thing. If the player in question had kept us up ala Tevez and I was the fan of say WBA or Cardiff then fair enough I'd be outraged but the player in question is Ji Dong Won ffs. The twat has actually cost us points this season. You know yourself mate that this is a terrible argument. I'm still amazed - actually, I'm probably not - Sunderland look like getting away with it. What must the long list of clubs, who've been deducted points for fielding ineligible players up and down the leagues, be thinking? Just about everytime I've heard it happen in the football league its an points deduction. From Sunday leagues to the very highest level that is normally the case. What the hell they've done to escape the normal punishment is quite intriguing and even more so considering how Poyet screwed Hartlepool over the same kind of thing.

The twat has actually cost us points this season. Emotive but, unfortunately, where laws are concerned, meaningless. It's black and white (excuse the expression) whoever the player concerned is and no matter how useless he may have been. You've got off the hook for whatever bizarre reason, but like I say they are trying to avoid the "League Cup" embarrassment and hoping it just runs it's course, but be prepared for the inevitable shit storm if that doesn't pan out.

These cheating cunts not been punished appropriately yet ?
-
Amazing that even a Sunday league team would be docked points for such an offence, and in a well ran league with such status as the Northern League you'd be absolutely hammered for it - no excuses whatsoever - yet a Premier League team with a multi million pound management and administrative team get away scot-free. Before anyone says they've paid a fine - in Premier League terms that equals scot-free. Anyway at least with Gus having such a moralistic stance on the subject perhaps justice will prevail and they'll be punished appropriately.
-
Be really interesting to gear what Pooyet has to say about this after he insisted on screwing poor old Hartlepool over something similar.
-
Aye. He's had a few years in management now the thing he's known best for is the infamous dressing room incident. Although it could now be argued that screwing up the easiest route to Europe Sunderland will ever be offered equals it. Hardly a glittering CV, yet some of the retards still think he's going to be their messiah and they're lucky to have him as so many big clubs would want him

Strangely enough it's actually cheered me up. So much so that I might punch a hoss on my way to the wongadome on Saturday. I wonder if any of my fellow 55,000 screaming jawdees , or indeed any of the 20,000 on the waiting list are feeling similarly exhilarated by their demise ?
-
Haven't been taking much notice of these rancid dogs lately but reading this I guess it's safe to say they were boo-udd off and most macums now think they're doo-ummed ?
-
Despite the strange fawning love they always seem to have for managers, chairmen, owners, no matter how bad they are (party with Marty, Paolo's revolution etc, etc) even they must be starting to realise that in their predicament Tony "the charver" Pulis would have been a better choice than the egotistical Gus "the poo" Poyet ?
-
The same Martin O'Neill they, nearly to a man, wanted at the time? #partywithmarty without doubt the cringest set if supporters ever 'Pardiola' 'The Fenham Eusebio' There's been a few from both sides over the years. 'Hop on the Gus bus' Both of those are massively sarcastic from our end man nee way - and when Shola lashes one into the top corner for Nigeria in the world cup semi finals you'll realise that...........
-
Reading and listening to their fans it seems like a lot are saying there are dressing room/manager problems. The substitutions he made today and their performance level would seem to bear that out. Not good for a relegation scrap.
-
His all round performance was very good today. A confident, firing on all cylinders Cisse, the like of which we haven't seen for a while, is a good thing to have in the squad.
-
Funny you should say that but he did make a sort of dash from the box when he obviously got fed up with the photos. Mind he looked quite slim compared to previously so he probably managed the stairs ok.
-
Is it true he watched the game from the Shark bar with a barmaid on his knee, a notebook in one hand and a direct line to Carver in the other ?
-
First game this year he's been at. Enthusiastically clapping the players off like a fan at the end and posing for photos with punters. Sadly for most, nobody wearing a dish dash or a ten gallon Stetson sitting next to him though. What's gannin on like ?
