You'd really think that supporters of a club who played a paedophile to help them scrape to safety would have just kept their heads down and said nothing for a while. Not those sad fuckers it seems.
-
Well we did last time and with a much lower level of expectation than this time. But that's been the case virtually every season in living memory (way before 1992 as well RTG) and is unlikely to change any time soon whatever happens.
-
Andros isn't daft. He'll be staying bar some ridiculous offer.
-
That would be a good while away I reckon but we might quite quickly get to the point where you can't just turn up on match day and get a ticket any more. There hasn't been a waiting list since the expansion to 52000 has there? Some mackems reckon we get 55,000 every week and the waiting list is 100,000 plus. But there again they are mackems.
-
Apart from the points we gave them, we also gave them the only full house they ever get, though latterly they've even struggled with that. What was it - barely 30,000 in the ground for a cup semi against Man Utd when they couldn't give tickets away like they do for league games ? Our relegation is really quite a negative for them - though I don't think many of the halfwits will see it like that
-
Got to say I agree with the mackem on a couple of points. 1. I don't think the Championship will be a canter. It will be a 46 game battle playing against teams who will see us as their cup final and most who will set up very negatively to spoil the game. A lot of character will be needed to do what we did last time. 2. I would rather be in the league they're in. But being in the Championship with Rafa is definitely a better prospect than existing in the PL with Fat Sam. Ironically if ever a club could have prospered from the bitter pill of relegation it was them. To be rid of the constant weary battle to finish 17th year after year, no matter what they have to resort to in order to achieve it, and take the opportunity to rebuild their team and start winning games again, would have been perfect for them. As it is they can look forward to the equivalent of "sticking pins in your eyes" Fat Sam football and maybe celebrating scraping their way to avoiding relegation once again.

Has anyone given a flying fuck about Sunderland since its founding? Yes. Some halfwits from wearside, some of the north easts saddest and bitterest people and nowadays those who sing songs supporting paedophiles. But apart from that probably no one.
-
The mackem's definitely cracking. Though he is trying to regain composure and return to his lofty smartarse self in the last couple of posts. Still surprised he hides his RTG identity considering he claims not to post in their football section.

It really does! The same Rafa Benitez who was recruited by and was managing, arguably, the biggest club in the world a few months ago! The word "potential" is regularly used when talking about Newcastle but this does put it into some kind of context. The stadium, the fan base, the city itself, is all in place. Just a matter of getting the most important bit moving in the right direction again.

apart from the fat c*** releasing a statement saying that asking shearer to be manager was the best move he'd made, despite relegation. Aye, yet he still didn't so much as return Shearers calls let along have a meeting with him AFAIR, just sound bites for the fans. This is far more concrete. If it does go wrong then that's it for me, won't even be following the club anymore, and I hope thousands do the same. My understanding was that Shearer had a meeting with them (maybe not Ashley) and outlined his plans for a root and branch reform of the club and what was needed to get them promoted. An agreement was reached, they shook hands and then he never heard from them again. I definitely think it was more than a statement and that Shearer thought there was an agreement in place. My take on it was that Shearer had done nothing whatsoever in terms of tactical nous or man management to suggest he could manage the club up to that point, and yet still demanded a package for himself and Dowie alone that was bigger than some clubs in that division's total playing and management staff budget. Like most things with Ashley we'll never know for certain, but that was possibly one of the few decisions he did get right.
-
So fans of a club who played a paedophile in order to scrape enough points to just avoid relegation yet again, and were lied to and misled by their club about the whole sordid matter, actually think they have something to gloat about ? Same shameless low lives who regularly sang "Adam Johnson he shags who he wants". What a strange bunch of people they are.
-
That really is a very good post and refreshingly honest in it's criticism of a local legend. I see parallels with a period in our recent history reading Shearer, Bobby Robson and Souness for Gerrard, Benitez and Hodgson.
-
Having a manager like Benitez and losing him, because of a relegation he could do little about, would be the most disappointing and frustrating thing that has ever happened at a club where disappointment and frustration are the norm.

Newcastle United 1 - 1 Manchester City - Post-match relief from p.39
Benwell Lad replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
Aye strange that the self proclaimed best and coolest fans in football filled less than half their allocation despite being in the CL semis and top four of the PL. Maybe they preferred the days when they were a "Manchester club" and not some rich Arab's plaything, despite the plastic success they've had. -
The reason I don't reveal my RTG ID on here is because I can't be arsed with the sh*te I'd get from the numpties over there. You have noticed them haven't you? Nah... bit feeble that marra. If, as you state, your views are the same on both platforms then what's to concern you ? Couple of posters on here also go on there but keep the same name and credit to them for that!
-
I've condemned everyone who has admitted involvement so far. If it transpires more people knew, then I will do the same to them. There really isn't much more I can do. If it turns out that Premier League survival was placed above the welfare of children then we deserve to be relegated, and those involved should be sacked. I'm a poster on RTG and my views on there are exactly the same as on here..........and no I'm not going to tell what my name is Based on above comment if you live in the real world and not lala land then you're probably saying that your club deserves to be relegated. By the way I have no interest whatsoever in what your name is - just the pseudonym you use on RTG. IF your views are the same on there then I'm sure your credibility would only be enhanced. As it is, with you not wanting to reveal it, I'll just have to assume that on there your reply would have been more along the lines of "Fuck off you pasty eating, horse punching mag bastard. Six in a row FTM"

He really isn't, and if you don't believe be you should read the judge's sentencing remarks regarding Rolf. 6 years does seem a excessive sentence when you compare it to other cases involving very young children but I have no sympathy for him. I'd be happy if all sentencing for all nonces was increased massively. Johnson has came across as an arrogant tw@t in this trial. You should call yourself Strange Mackem. You try to appear even-handed on here but you come across as a smart arse who tries to deflect responsibility from the role your club played in this whole sorry affair and the true extent of what others apart from Byrne really knew when he was welcomed back into the club. Thousands (if not tens of thousands) of your fans sung in defence of Johnson and if Sunderland forums and social media are reflective then it is not a small minority who still support Johnson and blame the child. Your time would be better spent back on RTG - whatever you're called on there - addressing the weird opinions of your fellow Sunderland fans and the manner in which your club has behaved. I don't try and come over as even handed, I give my opinion, hopefully one which has been formed using facts. When I joined this forum I said I would interact on here as I do with my Newcastle supporting mates, I have quite a few, and not like some of the tossers you see at the matches or on internet forums. Obviously some people don't like it which to be honest doesn't surprise me. I've condemned the part played by Margaret Byrne (and therefore the club) and the PFA. I've condemned Johnson, and I've condemned the idiot fans who sang some of the more ludicrous songs in support of him. I've also condemned the idiots on Facebook and RTG, I have accounts on both. Most fans, like me, thought the reason Johnson was brought back from suspension was because he had provided evidence to the club and the PFA which proved his innocence. We were lied to. I feel no shame for that because I had no part in it. My last reply was in response to a poster who seemed to be saying that Johnson is worse than Rolf Harris. He isn't, and such statements come from complete ignorance and add absolutely nothing to the debate. If that makes me look like a 'smart arse' then tough sh*t OK so you've "condemned the part played by Margaret Byrne". Scapegoat, pay off possibly ? More pertinently how much do you think her boss or your various managers knew about what she was told ? Was PL survival placed above a child's welfare ? Wonder what your name is on RTG ? Are your views as balanced on there ?

Thing is, ask any fan in the country about their club's ownership and very few will be really happy - even those at clubs with mega rich owners spending crazy money are, in the main, not totally comfortable with it. Ours gets a lot of attention because he's a high profile retailer but other than him I'd struggle to name many, apart from the Glazers, Short and Gibson. Even the nutters at Hull, Cardiff and QPR's names escape me despite all the press they get. Our ownership is little more than symptomatic of what English football has become in the 21st century. We're certainly not unique. The manager issue is different. They do vary enormously. However for Saturday's protest to have failed so miserably, despite a year of poor results, last week's 4-0 hammering and being 2-0 down at home raises a lot of questions about how they went about it. It was a moment when they had everything going for them. My feeling is that Newcastle fans in the main are just sick of gimmicky protests and the embarrassment they cause. We've had poorly attended marches, mock funerals, open top buses, billboards etc. We've waved flags, banners etc and had more splinter protest groups than most could remember. It seems to achieve little more than bringing a few extra press vultures up from London for a weekend hoping to pile more ridicule on us. Backslapping each other about a well organised protest - which it obviously wasn't - and to have those who did want protest calling the 48,500 or so who didn't, "sheep", "cunts", "knackers" "idiots" or whatever is not really the way forward. Or maybe it is in their eyes ? What is needed is a sane, rational, non-gimmicky agenda which engages the majority of match attending supporters and the city in general. That or a practical, business savvy consortium like the original Magpie Group who would be taken seriously.

John was arguably the most loyal fan Newcastle United has ever had. My ST is quite close to his and I can't recall attending any Newcastle United game, home or away, first team, reserve or junior when he wasn't there. He never missed a game anywhere. It's tragic, heartbreaking, shocking. I'm totally numb at hearing this.

Brilliant. Starts off as a fairly innocent "lets vandalise some mag's car" (a fairly normal trait amongst Sunderland fans and players) thread, and almost makes the bottom of the first page before they're physically threatening each other..............

Here you go... http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/poyet-press-conference.905781/page-15 You should see his next press conference marra: "My first is in pitch, it's covered in litter My second in jealous and also in bitter My third is in top, but never in dogs My fourth's on the floor instead of the bogs....what am I?" Not enough love for this Aye, top stuff from the bhoy.

Are they not calling for Bally to the rescue yet?
