Newcastle United vs Wolves - 17/09/16 @ 15.00 - Pre Match Thread
Benwell Lad replied to Nobody's topic in Football
I don't think they are to be honest. There'll be a reaction from them to Tuesday night and we'll still be a bit cagey. Be a lot closer than the 2 games on Tuesday were I'm sure. It's those pre season levels of optimism which concern me - and we know how that quickly evaporated after the first two games. That said, Benitez's standard of preparation and 25 fit players champing at the bit to be in the squad should ensure that no one takes anything for granted in the dressing room. -
Even in Sweden, every second division game is on TV these days. It's pathetic they aren't even being filmed with more than one camera. How do Swedish teams in the 2nd division manage to get a crowd when the games are on TV? * Don't answer affordable ticket prices. Obviously crowds aren't great, don't know what the average would be mind. Not strange considering the level would be around league 2 at best. You need to be a real fan of the team to bother with it, with how bad the quality is. Don't think championship crowds would suffer much from being televised. Are there really any evidence from around the world with crowds going down because of TV? At most clubs probably not, but didn't the great luminary that is Niall Quinn once tour the pubs and clubs of Sunderland in an attempt to get people to attend matches rather than watching on TV ?

Of course we would all like to help these kids and hope they will receive the best medical attention possible but I'd really have to question just what level of support any club should be expected to give? While Everton's gesture was generous I'm not sure it was really wise and may set some kind of precedent where every unfortunate child's family thinks a football club will pay for their needs. It's good that local clubs highlight such causes, raise awareness and assist with items to auction etc. but how far should they reasonably be expected to go and how many such cases can they become involved in ? Both Newcastle and Sunderland through their foundations do a lot of good work in their communities and help local charities, but this kind of support for sick children would really be better served by taking it up with local politicians, government and relevant charities which already exist, rather than expect a football club to decide which cases merit their help and which don't.

A fair number think we're on the verge of bankruptcy. I think our biggest worry is our manager talking about a relegation fight in August Obvioulsy been to the McClaren school of football management. As a non native you must despise him, wasn't you in the dugout v Boro was it?
-
It matters little once he made it clear that he did not want to be at the club and did everything he could to get away. His agent will have exploited their weakness and he will now be just another typical Sunderland player on wages far higher than his true worth. He looked poor against Everton and if that is the case he'll stay on his new deal whereas if he is any good they'll struggle to hold on to him new contract or not.

That would be so typically Newcastle However with Rafa in charge you just know that we'll be perfectly prepared and much less likely to fall over. -
Even by their standards the current levels of macktracking are quite extraordinary. After we "won" relegation many of them said that our squad wasn't cut out for a very physical 46 games season in what is a really difficult league to get out of. Oh.... and of course our manager had no Championship experience. Now it's a shite league and because we have spent 55 million on new players we should be expected to piss it, but it doesn't matter anyway because it's only the Championship.

I'm not sure they are wrong to be honest, after watching them last night. There was no bite to that midfield last night, Rodwell is a nothing player and any replacement for him would be an upgrade. The idiot probably would improve them, but it's all relative, I doubt he would improve them enough to make them not s*** ! Yeah probably right they really looked woeful in all areas last night but how depressing must that be - thinking the return of Cattermole can improve your side
-
Some mackems seem to think things will improve when Cattermole returns to the team. Wow that is desperation!
-
keep fighting the good fight then, hero. not really sure what you mean, but if meant to be witty or sarcastic then
-
What a good choice. Celebs with taste - whatever next!

Nah, the retards need to be outed on here and it's good, as well as sometimes amusing, to be kept up to date about the rubbish they're spouting. Realise that some of our "cooler" posters look down their noses at this and some who would struggle to locate Newcastle on a map might not really get it, but to many of us locals laughing at the mackem fuckwits is something we've always done and this thread is often about just that.
-
He's from Gabon though. Know you're probably kidding but you do realise that once you're in the EU (even from Gabon) you can travel on in the Schengen zone without passport control. But not into the UK where we have always had border controls. Don't you?
-
Their club record signing ( Dong or something ? ) was on the CDG to Newcastle International flight yesterday afternoon. What a clip he was too! Oh and unlike he was travelling from France to any other EU country, he had to go through passport control. What Strange and his his mackem brexiteer buddies probably didn't realise is we always retained control of our borders by not signing up to Schengen. So they may well have voted to lose their biggest employer and economic driver in order to get back the border control we always had anyway
-
Strange started cracking a while back but he's definitely gone full mackem with that racist rant. Wonder what name he posts under on RTG when he's not on here pretending to be even handed ?
-
Lost count of the amount of times they have a go at other clubs' attendances completely missing the irony in what they are saying. Dim cunts! they will come up with any argument that attendances mean nothing, then constantly have threads about attendances, wtf. They normally have around a 20 page thread about our attendances, which they are clearly obsessed and extremely bitter about, and then generally reach the conclusion that attendances aren't really important and it's only the mags who are bothered about them
-
Seems like the mackums are revolting.

This is all set up nicely for one of those typical NUFC anti-climaxes that we've grown so used to over the years Hope not !! -
These cunts signed any fucker yet ?

Well put. Not heard anyone in football who comes across better.
