With the public opinion outside of Newcastle and the press eager to stick the knife in at any point, I am sure they want to be as safe, courteous and as respectful as possible with their moves, Bruce included. They are smart enough to know their every move is being scrutinized and will want to get more people onside than off over time. While we all hope for an therapeutic and brutal booting ceremony the way they it looks like they are doing things is going to leave detractors with no room to moan about treating "World Class" Bruce harshly, before the press are happy forget about him and discard him back into obscurity.

Part of the problem is having had someone like Rafa who was looking for that long term legacy project. In my head at least I am hoping we hire the right person that will be here for 5 years or longer. I want the person they hire to be the person that lifts our first silverware in my lifetime. The reality is how many of the managers in these type of projects last (Chelsea, ManCity, PSG etc.) and how many "perfect fit's are out there?", especially right now. The likelihood is, whomever we appoint now might well not be here in a couple of years as the team evolves. That is why I don't mind the idea of an interim appointment now. The DOF and everywhere else in the club needs sorting to bring a vision and unity. Manager wise, right now we need someone that can reinvigorate and bring out the best in our squad to turn things around. Unless we can get the full package in a hire, we might need a completely different manager this time next year or the year after. For me that is why Rangnick is a perfect choice who can also move up into the club after finding a successor.

Literally the worst from the list by a country mile. I had some major knee jerk comments i just typed here and then deleted as he did do well at Derby. It was a big mistake to leave so early for Chelsea but no-one can blame him. His biggest problem was tactical naivety but more worryingly his lack of ability to work with the bigger name players and personalities they brought in and freezing others out. Trying to look glass half full, if it was an interim job maybe it would give players a boost and turn us around. He definitely has a lot to prove but would be MASSIVELY underwhelming in comparison to everyone on the list. I'd even prefer Howe or Potter, or Gerrard. From everything we have learned from his Chelsea stint this job would be a disaster waiting to happen. He comes across like the new Tim Sherwood. Cockney media darling, limited in reality. What next, Bruce as DOF? Edit: I even revised the post because I was knee-jerking and still knee-jerked more.

They need to be on point with the next manager hire OR get someone inspirational enough to reignite our passion and sense of wonder for a while. We desperately need someone with some class and charisma that can inspire fans as well as the players. I just don't see that with Rodgers or Potter (the former also surely wouldn't come and the latter isn't better than Howe imo). Gerrard and Lampard make me shudder at the thought. Martinez would be better than some are giving him credit for but he is limited too. Many of the names on the list will disappoint people, such is the newly heightened expectation. Favre or Rangrick are the most intriguing for me and people that could potentially build something until we can truly attract a Conte. People turned their nose up at Zinedine Zidane but the lift someone of his calibre for players and fans to look up to would make him an excellent person to bring in, if he didn't turn into the best long term hire I think he would spark peoples imagination and attract players.

Potentially speaks to the volumes of what Staveley and co. are bringing in terms of class/professionalism/planning in comparison to what we have been acclimatized to the past 14 years, if not far longer tbh. The old lot would have binned him off without a thank you or leave him hanging like t'other Schteevie. Gives me confidence this lot are going to leave no stone unturned in getting this right, acting with class, dignity and hopefully gaining respect as they go. We shall see.

Isaac Westendorf is the trialist. Non league player the chronicle did a little write up on: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/isaac-westendorf-newcastle-trialist-u23s-21743858.amp Edit: 3-0 up. Anderson then Stephenson. Edit edit: FT 4-0 Anderson penalty for the brace.

Maybe assessing options. If there is someone they want that they need to wait another day or two for they might want to just announce it all together. Likewise maybe confirming a DOF and getting their blessing?

Article from when Manure were supposedly after Henrique. https://en.as.com/en/2020/01/28/soccer/1580242214_955916.html

Henrique as DOF, Rangnick as manger, sorted.

It is WUM-central. The only way they survive is through causing outrage from far out ridiculous views and making fans irate enough to bite on their bait.

No idea if this is relevant or not as I can't view it here. Headline implies but could simply be he is done for the day lol https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12431543/bruce-leaves-training-ground-after-staveley-talks

I think of all the names linked Lampard is absolutely isolated at the bottom. Even Gerrard would be better than that. I'm fine with them appointing a DOF first then a manager. Jones can take charge for a week or two. Bruce has to go though.
-
Maybe the new ownership is as cold as fuck and want Bruce tortured at SJP. Because he will be if we are losing against Spurs. Maybe they are generous and want him to have his 1000 game before getting the boot. What if we win though, then it's even more awkward. He should have been gone straight off the bat imo. It is a statement of intent that they mean business, not just to the fans but to the players. Dissapointing. But still time yet.

Yeah told me more than I knew about him and his background but no more than you can Google!

Bit more on Owen Brown (Phil Foden's agent) who has been advising PCP along with McParland and will likely be on board. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/10/11/newcastle-united-takeover-owen-brown-foden/

Would be a decent shout. Not sure if he would be interested in the manager part or not. I think we need experience and quality though. We can't throw a younger manager to the Wolves unless he has the charisma, talent and broad shoulders to cope with turning this squad around until January recruits. I would however be shocked if we don't see a completely different looking squad against Spurs even if we lose the game. The place will be electric and every player will have got a shot in the arm... (well not that shot obviously)

What like most other weeks?

Was linked over a year ago with Owen Brown. Both are already working with PCP. https://www.nufcblog.com/2020/05/21/signs-that-rafa-benitez-could-be-making-a-surprise-return-to-newcastle/ Times article here: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/newcastle-takeover-former-liverpool-transfer-specialist-frank-mcparland-to-help-reshape-newcastle-zrvf0lgxm Rangers fans hate him here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ibroxnoise.co.uk/2017/02/the-disaster-that-iswas-frank-mcparland/amp/

I'm already at the point that I would be sad if Ragnick doesn't come in lol Few places backtracking on Conte, saying he is interested to talk..Think it just stems from a likely bs claim from the chronicle. Imagine Conte actually wanting it but us turning him down because he won't fit with our DoF set up and vision. ?

It's not just the mackems the general fan fewm is real. I had messages from generally logical mates saying "I really think this is the moment that fucks football." "This is just the start and clubs will be suing the PL." "The brand has been tarnished in a way it really hasn't been before." Not going to lie about having solid gold rose and diamond tinted specs on right now but some of the shite coming out of pure jealous rage and "concern" for a world of football that has been dead and corrupted for decades is laughable. Would be celebrated if it was liverpool being taken over.
-
Sorry for the likely Giggs but read yesterday Owen Brown is the football consultant for PCP and will remain in an advisory role. He is also the agent of Phil Foden ?

Rangnick would be great as DOF but could do the interim manager job alongside Jones and/or whomever he wants. Would give him the best hands on experience to develop the club while finding the right person for the head coach job. We do really need an experienced head to turn us around. There would be a MASSIVE weight of expectation and pressure on the shoulders of someone like a Potter, Gerrard or Fonseca. The ship needs steadying. Favre or AVB would be good temporary hires that are available. Not convinced either would be down for a short term stint though.
