The vitriol is always OTT by some corners of every fanbase but such is the passion and hazy magnifying glass we all see our clubs through. The club is in his family (even if his genuine love is still in question) and I am sure he wanted to do a good job at some point but the hunger and desire to pull out all the stops to make that happen seemed to disappear quickly. You have to have belief in yourself and your abilities at that level to do well and he did so I don't think even knowing what he would walk into, he would turn it down. He never should have been considered, he wasn't a premier league manager at that point. I just wish he had the dignity to have seen the horror show and got out quicker.
