RE: ASM - A player who, to Nickson's credit (for once), was shrewdly signed and took his opportunity to really become a top player and talisman for us.

^^ alternatives to an outright sale and potentially opens up to a bigger buyer pool. Have always felt his exit strategy has been stupidly flawed from the get-go and has always been about finding a unicorn buyer who would pay his insane valuation on a very capital intensive business with horrendous facilities, no business or football infrastructure, and very weak playing squad(s).
-
Just the variance, the difference, etc...he should literally just hold his "loan" and look at it as a debt position to a new buyer and the buyer should pay the difference between Mike's "loan" and the agreed price (ex: 300 million). That way they come in with a healthy going-in basis as equity, pay some sort of interest to Mike on a monthly or annual basis with additional larger balloon payments to buy Mike out faster, so maybe for example 20 million a year in balloon payments to lower the debt balance and increase new buyer's equity position. IMO this wouldn't be so bad for any party. Mike could earn interest and in essence make more money in the long-run than outright sale, a new buyer doesn't have to fork out 300 million up front and can try and come in and use their position to start spending money on facilities, players, and then using time to find additional partners

Mike should just sell the delta between his "loan" and the equity position and then charge a nominal interest rate to the Buyer that has various step-down principle payments that eventually allows him to exit albeit with a premium.

Can see him going to Everton

Easy to say now, but nobody has a fucking clue what could have been.

"Abromavich doesn't care"

His high pressing was actually fantastic last season, he's very good at nicking the ball and using his strength to gain possession and pace to carry. I think he's not one of those super intricate passers that Arsenal for some reason has hard-ons over. He's also not some big name signing. Calling him half a season wonder is OK, but it's literally the only time he's been given a chance to shine and he took it. Like said before, we should be signing 15-25m players each window to upgrade the team. But we also go free, cheap, or loan.
-
I think the sale is heavily fueled by fund raising to sign a bigger name and they aren’t getting much attention on some of the other lads. But Kaka had a good post explaining the Arsenal tactical approach versus just saying “he’s not suited to a more tactical game at Arsenal” like he’s thick and just a dribbler or something.
-
Aight better analysis. just a crazy and lazy thing to say unless you throw the context of why you’re saying it above.
-
“Not suited to Arsenal’s tactical approach” I’ve a lot of time for Arteta and rather he manage us but don’t make Willock out to be some stupid player who only relies on physical attributes that’s really an odd and unfounded way to criticize him IMO.
-
Would be nice to get another #8 like Dennis Praet who is a good passer of the ball and can press. Wish we’d sign another wingback and striker.
-
Assuming he does sign, think he’ll hit 7-10 goals and have a handful of assists. Better be one of the first names on the team sheet with Wilson and Maxi.
-
Martinez to Spurs for 60m feels cheap to me. What a coup.
-
Beginning of the end when Oaktree and Elliott are providing that rescue capital to eventually take control. They’ll restructure the club and eventually offload it for a massive premium and ROI.
-
don’t have the time or energy anymore to actively root against things and/or get too wound up about the PL ruining the takeover. Maybe I’ll admit, MA’s running of the club and the PL denying our chance of a resurgence has truly defeated me and taken the passion of supporting this club right out of me. I’m literally just going to watch us when I can and try and enjoy it if possible.

Have Ronaldo and Messi team up for one season.

Glad those Qataris continue to win again,

Signing for us for 50,000 a week.

If you don't rate Lukaku or are seemingly finding ways to say "he's not that great" or "don't like his style" you're knowledge of football is quite odd. He's a world class striker who has been banging in goals his entire career. Bloody weird to be scoffing at signing him, no matter the price. Who seriously gives a fuck about transfer fees anymore? It's all inflated anyway, we can't even sign a 10m player ffs.
-
We seemingly are the only real guarantee he'll play most games.
-
Hope we get it done on a permanent deal. The players themselves could use a boost of seeing a good player who did well last season arrive for real and not another fucking temp loan.
