The club actually told me I'd be a good fit for it too on the various conversations I had with them leading up to it.

Thank you. It's honestly beyond me when a player is so bang out of form that our own fans just assume its anyone but the player's fault.

I applied for that international fan spot too, fyi. My application was DENIED and as I was HAULED off out of that chance.

Looks nice for sure. But Mark Thomas using the "scale" of the machinery and people on the pitch honestly made me think the place looked smaller.
  7. Woke up at 4a today for the launch…sigh wrong date

the cost to pay the promoter, artist, ticketing revenue share etc may make it less lucrative.
  9. Aww, poor clubs who want to have all the restrictions but also are concerned about the legal costs
  10. I just want to us maximize every opportunity, be sustainable, communicate and take calculated risks when need be but have the balls to come out and own to mistakes (they happen, its life).
  11. Yes, fine with it of course. Just not something completely insane that actually is out of place for the whole thing. A proper diligence'd capacity, beautifully designed, etc. Doesn't need some NEOM style futuristic shit
  12. There's an argument that we may need to play our absolute fastest defenders until Botman is back for his game reading/sweeping/high interceptions. Of that, I think thats Kelly and Tino. LB: Hall/Tino CB: Kelly CB: Schar RB: Tino/Trippier >> Hall pushes up and plays a mirror of the Trippier role if he starts at LB, or Trippier plays his usual role if he starts at RB >> Kelly has genuine recovery pace, ball playing and is a mainstay until Botman is back >> Schar has high aggressive interceptions, ball playing and is a mainstay until we find another RCB to replace him >> Tino mostly plays as a defensive RB or LB, and only pushes forward when Hall or Trippier are not, But sits back but otherwise he's a shadow wide RCB or wide LCB and uses his recovery pace and 1 v 1 defending ability. Basically Ben White or Ake or something. None of this pushing up as an inverted fullback nonsense. If anyone does that, should be Hall or Tripps.
  13. I also do not want them throwing money at something that then becomes a burden to the city or the club in the future. If they do it, do it right and do it correctly. It's generational stuff, if they do it. Nobody else as far as I can tell is going to come in and give Newcastle this type of transformational investment.
  14. Some of that felt good, seems like the local press are sitting on something re: the stadium but can't hit print. Hopefully Mitchell can unearth some instant gems from abroad that help us in Jan to get Europe under Eddie.

Are a London club's P&L then not really applicable to a North East club? Where there is a different revenue and cost structure based on local economy and/or constraints?

London's inflated base of matchday income due to location doesn't help. I assume london ticket prices, while higher, on a relative basis are easier for the local fan to stomach versus that exact price in the North.

Yep, like i said, without knowing the breakdown of matchday income and comparing the detail behind it, really hard to get a real concrete answer here. I do think PIF/RB need to show their goal and ambition with an impressive stadium and traning ground/academy plan + any other additional investment to the area and region to show some additional ambition and intent.

I’d love to know what / how an income bridge looks for ticket, hospitality, boxes, concessions etc versus those clubs. But you see my points, I hope. It’s a massive gap to bridge - if that gap is closed up by 30-40m with new stadium per year, then we’re on to something there. think you want to get to city and Liverpool’s level. I don’t think we have much chance with London clubs. again gotta factor in ticket prices in the main. People go berserk any time they are raised.

I agree with you 100% in principle but have some genuine questions… - what is our current matchday income? - what is our current non football income to the stadium? - what is the delta to spurs and arsenal? And Liverpool to all of those? - what is non football income to the stadium at Sunderland? Without checking the numbers I think we’ll never get there on non football income until the city itself also improves in terms of lodging and airport (Imo) and we can def needle at it and maximize opportunities like Sunderland and basically cannibalize theirs and then add more with our growing commercial team and ownership group.

Go back to my post, the stadium is les about the income and more about the outward show of ambition as we grow as a club. The training ground/academy, however, is fucking massive and crucial for our long term growth. We need to be hoovering up all the local talent, have the top rated academy/facilities/coaching and constantly be building that side irrespective of the first team. (IMO). Gate receipts and boxes don't move the needle when we're clearly never going to raise prices to Chelsea or Arsenal or Spurs levels. We need the commercial sponsorships and we need to sell players.
