We bid last night becuase we believed he preferred to come to us. FYI. It was in Hope’s article and video.
-
isnt Bild an awfully inaccurate tabloid paper too?
-
The fuck is that Norwegian even saying? There has been no substantive update since last night otherwise it would have likely come from Downie/Sky, Hope or Orncunt.

Unfair to compare Sesko today v Isak today. Isak came to us same age, has developed under Eddie for 3 full seasons. Waste of time to compare imho. If we wrap this up I’d love to get an attacking mid to extract even more out of Sesko. Would be really great business if we could pull that off.

Should be afforded the same time the fans gave Isak in his first season with us.

I would say the very justifiable anger apart from the obvious is rarely do you develop one of the worlds best, get CL twice, win a cup and finish 5,7,5 and be forced to sell your star who went on strike after a historic season. Feels like this is some wild occurrence that can only happen to us. Not seen a situation like this in English football in quite some time and rarely in the major European leagues. Can only think Van Persie, Figo, and Higuan for strikers doing this, Sterling to City was more about the potential as he was 20. This has that unprecedented feel to it - I’d hope somehow and someway this goes the Kane, Gerrard, Suarez way and for some when they move on it’s abroad.
-
yes they struggled last season and that impacted all of them.

This deal, at present, is what i assume Eddie feels is best for NUFC heading into next season with 4 comps. Whether that will include Alex or not shouldn’t really impact how we feel about this, in a vacuum we’re looking to pay our club record for a #9 who had 39 goals in all comps aged 20-22 across 2 seasons. He turns 23 next May. Age is on his side.
-
Ya mate he’s very much on the Isak goal scoring # at same age years, very comparable in just that stat but obv we saw Alex continue to develop into one of the worlds best under Eddie Howe’s coaching and tactics and they are much different players.
-
just so people see this again - I’m certain many haven’t actually watched him play. He’s a raw player with a ton still to develop but he’s got the strength, pace, and height/physical tools to become an absolute force in English football -if he comes here he’s coming to the perfect place to see him further develop.
-
based on his goals and assists across all comps at his age over last two seasons with varying tactics and such the price seems pretty damn fine to me.
-
we don’t know that yet but he has the potential to be a top keeper.
-
24-25: 21 goals and 6 assists Bundesliga - 33 apps, 13 goals and 5 assists. Cup - 4 apps, 4 goals, 1 assist CL - 8 apps, 4 goals 23-24: 18 goals and 2 assists Bundesliga - 31 apps, 14 goals and 2 assists. Cup - 2 apps, 2 goals CL - 8 apps, 2 goals He's 22 years old. Those are fantastic stats any way you look at it.
-
I am actually excited by this.

Its amusing to me that most people, purely from a development point of view, would say you chose Newcastle to work with Eddie Howe to further refine your game and work with a coach who has a proven track record developing players in the premier league -- not to mention CL football next season and what is likely 2-3 seasons of being the main #9.
-
Yeah, from what we're hearing/reading we get that green light but the agents are seemingly shopping our deal or anyone's deal to the highest bidder and we're going after competitive and coveted players.
-
If the Isak situation never happened, we'd all be feeling even more chill too.

He says it many times "If it really is impossible for Eddie to turn him around, and he say no, and it sounds like the case, you get your big money for him, whoever it is, you get your replacements in before oyu let him go, you get what you can and move on" Paraphrasing quite a bit ^ mind you. Again, from Friday morning after the first bid was made.
