You punish him this week, you integrate him next week, you find the backup striker and sign him (+ midfield and cb) and you bring in your legal folks to deal with his agent if he / they have problem. As someone who works in the world of M&A it's eating at my soul to see how people only look at the deal itself in a vacuum and don't factor in the lack of inactivity last summer/winter for many clubs. The time we are freed from PSR shackles happened to line up with a time where City, Liverpool and Man United have decided to go big in the transfer market. But hey, a DOF or CEO hired in the last 12 months would have been able to sell the club to X player!
