  1. No - I was there and he was dreadful, he's been dreadful since he arrived and I'm entitled to say it!
  2. Sleep like a chicken - GOLD! mackems.gif
  3. Duff was embarrasing those poor Latvians for fun. Got into good positions with sheer pace and skill, which is something that Nobby cant do. I was very impressed by him even though the opposition was piss poor. Wasterful and selfish.. get a grip. bluesigh.gif Some of you are so easily pleased mate football is not about passing players and doing fu*k all...His end product was nothing...He was guilty of wasting so many chances by smacking it in front of millions of players standing in the way between him and the goal as if he thought so how the ball will actually go through those players' bodies and come out in the net on the other side What about his crosses...They were embarrasing...Solano would have pissed on him with his pin point crosses...Just because he can be a circus clown passing one, two or three players doesn't mean he is now creating chances for the team...So yes today he was the most wasteful selfish shooting happy player on NUFC side... What time is it over there? Go to bed and stop making a fool of yourself ffs. Duff was man of the match and was badly let down (as was the rest of the midfield) by the lazy arsehole up front who never showed for a pass, never made a run for a cross, and allowed himself to be marked out of the game. Luque is a shambles and you are marking yourself out as the most clueless person on here in your defence of him and your slagging of Duff. Never mind trying to tell people what football is and isn't about man. You haven't got a frigging clue. Answer me this: do you think Luque deserves another start based on his performance last night? Now bear in mind that if you say yes you're saying he should get a game ahead of Shola and the new lad. Personally, I would pick Paul Dalglish ahead of Luque if he was still at the club. Have you had your cuppa tea and breakie before spouting such rubbish I guess not... I don't think you know how football should be played...Well for someone to suggest they want Paul Dalglish says it all.. I wonder now what the real reason is behind Murinho letting Duff go hmmmm...WASTEFUL productless selfish player...Man of the match my arse... I love how stupid you are looking right now. To answer your question - very!
  4. I couldnt agree more. Couldn't agree less. He's only a "fraction" away from gettign right in the same way as Boumsong is a "fraction" away from beinbg one of the best defenders in Europe. Ha, totaly agree, its scary how some just can't come out and admit that Luque is dreadful and he is turning out to be the biggest wasted transfer ever! Excuses like - "he's not playing in the right position" and " it takes time to adjust" are total b*llocks after a while - does Duff moan about going on the right wing or Milner getting shunted around everywhere (who had a top game in my opinion for a non striker) and I see that Berbartov from Spurs has taken a long time to adjust - ha - face it we have been well and truly diddled - we have a supposed 'non striker' who is going to be played as a striker, who has no pace, no physical strenght and from the looks of it no passion, desire or committment. Oh by the way, we were playing a poor team tonight - what the hell will happen if Luque has to play against some top defenders who really will give him a hard time? What worries me greatly is basically we have two strikers this season - Martins and Ameobi - both of which have never been prolific and one of which seems to have a recurring hip problem that will keep him out of a number of games each season. And we are looking at Gravesen???

    Martin O'Neill

Most sensible comment made in this thread tbh
  6. Mirror are saying this morning we have put in a £6m bid for him

    Its Roeder

Surely Oliver wouldn't cover the front page of the Chron if its not concrete??? blueconfused.gif I would have thought he would lose his job if it didn't turn out to be Roeder?

Are you kidding me? One day someone will be successful here and he will attain immortality. How much potential is there here? Agreed it's a challenge but it's the kind of challenge competitive people live for. Christ, FS said that 12 top applicants had applied for the job within 24 hours of GS getting the push. This isn't fucking Mortal Kombat, sunshine. laugh.gif

Would that have been such a good thing though in my opinion no but then thats just me. Well, lets not start that debate, I think we've been there enough times on this forum! :winking:

No arguing with that although I did think we might be able to get O'Neil.

You didn't believe him when he said that did you For all we know he want for all the managers we wanted ahead of Roeder and they didn't want to come. Wouldn't suprise me. If that's the case then I am less unhappy about Roeder, its the thought that Freddie didn't bother to try for some of the more qualified candidates or that he is waiting for Shearer which gives me the heebie jeebies!

I am once more, truly dissapointed in Shepherd, I will not slag off Roeder, what's to slag off, he's done a great job, but he isn't as strong a candidate as others in terms of track record and thats FACT not opinion. I am more pissed off with Shepherd, who once again shows his lack of long term vision. Unless that vision is to have Roeder steady the ship until Shearer is ready.... bluecry.gif

Lack of track record and lack of experience in Europe springs to mind. The success he has had has been very welcome and appreciated but with the squad we have I would expect us to win the games we have won, just because Souness couldn't do it, shouldn't mean we go with Roeder, I think, with all due respect to Roeder, he is the weakest candidate out of those that are constantly mentioned.

The more I think about it, the more dissapointed I am, that's shocking I know, I should be happy given the last few games but I just feel we have missed a massive opportunity to get someone really good!

Unless Shepherd is cleverly using the Chron and local sources to leak out its Roeder to gauge reaction but denying it at this time in case he feels it wouldn't be popular! tongue.gif

How are you so confident? I believe roeder when he said he doesn't want the job Have you seen his latest quotes though? U-turn city tbh. Yep, although I didn't believe him in the first place, of course he wanted the job, the biggest u-turn will be from Shepherd though!

I agree, I think (no facts here, just opinion) that Shepherd is more worried about his own position and PR then actually putting a long term plan in place. A month ago I bet he had a totally different thought process, reactive as per usual!

The chronicle interviewed me this morningas I was coming out of the metro on the question - Am I happy with the appointment of Roeder as full time manager? The way it was phrased was that it was done and dusted. What the f8ck is going on?

Gutted, not taking anything away from Roeder, but he aint the man long term and not as high a calibre manager as I was wanting. Distinct lack of ambition my Shepherd in my opinion, I would have at least expected to get someone with some sort of track record in Europe. A run of games against opposition we should be beating as a matter of course while being caretaker manager with a lack of pressure does not make him the best candidate. He deserves a big pat on the back and a nice big bonus but not the job long term. bluesigh.gif
  21. Quite frankly, I think that is a ridiculous argument. Spurs haven't beaten Liverpool, manure or Chelsea either, does that mean Martin Jol can't give Spurs a chance of competing with the best? Of course it doesn't, nor can that argument be levelled at Glenn Roeder either. What makes you think he hasn't got the attributes to get Newcastle to the CL? He got the spanners to 7th in the premiership with practically no transfer money at all. One thing is for certain. If he doesn't get the top job, there will be plenty of clubs who have seen what he can do and will. I don't think you will see Roeder back in the Academy, time for something better, either at Newcastle or elsewhere. He also took the same, very talented, team down the next season. Speaking to my WHam mate recently I commented on what a good job Roeder has done for us - he said the same thing of their first non-full season with him. The next season, according to him, they were dreadful. I believe Roeder has done exceptionally well for us as caretaker manager, but that's all it should be in my opinion. Agreed, its when the pressure is actually on that you can judge - the last time the pressue got to him - that's not a slur, its a fact - the pressure on him if he became full time manager would be far more than he has been used to up to now.
  22. As Wullie said, Emerson Thome - it says it all really! Gary Teale - one of their stand outs in the game - £100k signing from Ayr United! I can't believe folk are trying to defend Wedensday's shambles, we were playing Wigan's second team, some of which hadn't played all season in the prem!
  23. Against Wigan reserves. Wigan. Reserves. Boumsong, Solano, Emre, Bowyer, Parker, Shearer, Luque - these are his players or players he has chosen to keep - and at huge expense. Exactly, there is no excuse, Wigan had rejects from the SPL playing for them FFS!
  24. Maybe if you asked nicely!
