Couldn't agree more even when we have won this season, apart from short spells in those games, we have played appallingly and some of the defending has been like watching a benny hill re-run.
-
Totally goes against Roeder's claims that he is looking to reduce the age of the squad and improve its quality.

I disagree with everything apart from para 1 - quite incredible the arguments people will put up to try and justify Bramble's ineptness! Very rarely does a centre back go through a whole game without a mistake??? Unless your're watching some 3rd division sunday league game, thats a load of tosh! I've seen plenty of centre backs go through a game without making a mistake. Maybe you should have used the description - 'spectacular mistake' because Bramble is a master of those! This 'judgement' you speak of hasn't been some knee jerk reaction - its from a continued, consistent run of mistakes and poor performances - oh wait, apart from a few games one season when suddenly the blinkered thought he was an England internationalist!!! Why won't some people just admit the truth - they guy has been a big waste of money and if we want to move forward we have to stop making excuses for players such as Bramble who have never filled the 'supposed' promise they had in the first place - I say supposed because every Ipswich fan I have ever talked to thanked me for the cash and sniggered a lot! As for Carr, go away, there are not many worse defenders in the whole league. He got murdered for that second goal! Stop talking about other defenders, you don't know what any other defender would have done, unless your GOD! Its totally irrelevant and hypothetical, he was the defender and he was the one who f*cked up! The guy has been overall, a pale shadow of the player he was at Tottenham, and since he has come back he doesn't even look like a Premiership footballer, to say anything different, is in my opinion, painfully deluded!

Careful, you will hurt the blind optimism of the starved frenzied pack!!!!

Yeah I guy who has failed in Europe once already. Christ people seem to want us to just sign for the sake of signing, not sure why. No, people want signings because we are desperately in need of bodies, and it is up to Glenn and his master to find the right players and bring them in. That is their job. You can keep harping on about nobody being out there, but seriously, the idea that there is absolutely nobody out there that can improve the squad is just mind blowingly ridiculous. Championship players who have no experience are being touted for £10m and I'm yet to hear of a really big defender who is available, unless you have ? Not having access to the NUFC fax machine or any agents numbers readily at hand, I wouldn't a clue. Nevertheless, I'll repeat it, your idea that there is absolutely nobody out there that can improve the squad is just mind numbingly ridiculous. After a desperate summer they have had plenty of time to draw their plans together and look a little less shambolic this time around. But sadly (and I really hope it is all an act) Glenn still seems to be fumbling around phoning around for opinions on players at this late stage, and aparently having trouble getting anywhere. Amen Although I don't think its an act!

We are a joke!

My opinon, is that Roeder is a mediocre manager, he has a tough job no doubt but it is a job too big for him, his track record speaks for his mediocrity and I have seen little by the way/style we play that tells me he is the man for the job long term. Just because he is better than Souness does not mean he is good enough. But that's just my opinion.
-
Think you are being kind on Roeder - he was shit at Gillingham and Watford.
-
Result sums up what we are all about at the moment - A team not good enough to finish off so called 'inferior teams'. Fact of the matter is we are a poor team who do not have the ability and composure to beat teams, we are better when playing 'good teams' who attack us and then we play on the counter. You only have to look at us 90% of the time when we are in possession of the ball, its like a hot tattie that nobody wants! I can name possible 3 players in our team who actually look comfortable and composed on the ball.

Mind he tipped Blackburn to win 2-0 against us last week!

Funnily enough I was just thinking that!

Wrong, offer can come in subject to DD But for an offer to become official and "live" all conditions need to have been removed. This is done by the club satisfying their requirements, hence if the offer has become live/unconditional due-diligence would have to have been completed. I agree, live and unconditional is another matter - an initial offer letter though should be given to the Board to decide whether they think its a offer they can recommend and allow the party access to perform DD. I'm guessing, and purely guessing that they are at this stage at the moment - and there is a haggling over price.

Just checked the London Stock Exchange website again... http://www.londonstockexchange.com/en-gb/pricesnews/prices/system/detailedprices.htm?sym=GB0006572795GBGBXSEQ10657279NCU It states there are special conditions on the company listing.... http://www.londonstockexchange.com/en-gb/pricesnews/prices/priceshelp/specialconditions.htm "Bid Situation This security is currently engaged in a bid situation, whether hostile or otherwise" Is this the bid that the club denies receiving? This was listed on there earlier this morning, prior to the clubs official statement. Surely the LSE wouldn't just react to media speculation? MJ We've been in a bid situation for weeks - ever since the first approach was made. My guess is that it is likely we are in discussions with certain parties and a formal offer isn't being announced until the price is agreed as when the formal offer goes in the price will go nuts - as juts seen this morning on the back of a newspaper article! Mind, a formal offer will be subject to due diligence so they don't have to do it before - mind that doesn't mean NUFC haven't given them the information they need to make a credible offer! That being said, anything could stop that offer coming about, particularly if a signficant shareholder is being a greedy g*t!
-
An indicative offer can be made, no problem.

Getting rid of Carr and Babyaro.....what a dream!
-
Quite ridiculous, people are jumping the gun big time - anything could make this deal fall flat on its face at any time - if its true in the first place! I aint believing anything till a Stock Exchnage Statement.
-
So who was in charge of the transfer funds in the summer?
-
I don't really understand that though. Appearing to be turning things round, whilst accepting that he won't get us anywhere near to the top 4 isn't good enough imo. Not if you're going to have a load of cash behind you. Who is there good enough to bring in then? Hitzfield!? who is to say he will want to up sticks to live in Newcastle? Hold on i know, Pardew, excellent manager  Sorry I didn't realise we were restricted to a choice between Pardew or Hitzfeld. My mistake. Give me a realistic list mate! No because my initial point was a general one as follows - if this lot have the sort of clout where we don't have to just make do with a mediocre manager (and I'm sorry, but that's what Roeder is), we would be stupid to persevere with one because he may or may not steady the ship. If we accept that he isn't good enough to get us back challenging further up the league then I really don't understand the willingness to stick with him. I'm not saying sack him on the spot, but in the medium term his days should be numbered imo. Common sense - nice to see someone take off the tinted specs!
-
More to the point - giving Roeder £20m - dangerous!
-
Fek me - price is up to 84p! Thats an 11% rise this morning already!
-
That defence would put us down for sure!
-
What he said but with even more dismay!
-
Good point, I'm guessing there is something we don't know about.

A property play is my guess, based on the Casino and that land plus a re-financing of the debt. To be honest, I can't see why any business would want to buy us, it makes no financial sense whateseover! If I was them, I would be looking to move us out of St. James to a new site, with nice sweeteners from the Council. I would love it if they were coming in with the long term view of investing in the playing staff and getting the club into a positon to compete with the top 3 but that takes a long term view with a lot more cash. Lets look at it this way: Cost of buying the club: Market cap at moment c£90m Premium to be paid on a acquisition of a PLC (range varies c£30m I am advising on a acquisition of a PLC where the premium is 25%, but I've seen it higher and I know Shepherd wants a bigger premium - lets ay 30%) Exisiting debt (total guesswork, from the prelim results c£75m could be circa £75m - I'm including £5m additional in there that hasn't been disclosed that is owed to Mirage - but this could be higher as we are most likely funding losses at present) Add in deal fees of circa £5m and that adds up to a total purchase price of £200m!! That's before any development of the casino and that land - who knows what that will cost. I cannot fathom why any business would pay that outlay even before investing in the playing squad. There is no way you could recoup that cash from just the football side, not in the short-medium term. You are probably looking at an overall cost (including investing in the playing squad and development of the Casino ) of c£300m! I don't know what the angle is but I'm sure its more than just making NUFC a better football team!
