  1. Mapou has impressed most at full back. A Mapou/Colo defence, in an already short team looks very naive.
  2. ..and would also leave Santon open to getting ripped apart every game. Jonas goes then fine, but then we need an experienced proper left back. Santon can learn how to defend. Or be dropped for Haidara/Mbiwa
  3. He tried Marveaux wide a good few times and those brought his worst performances. Everton and Spurs away spring to mind.
  4. Like I said before - if you buy a young English player. While the value is inflated, as long as they show some promise that inflated value remains until at least their mid 20's. 6m for Shelvey is an example.
  5. We need to sign purples mate. Not players to "compete".
  6. Darren Bent and Papiss Cisse in the same team ffs.
  7. Darren Bent is not going to be on back-up wages man. He'll earn at least 40k.
  8. Aye, Perch is barely a Premiership player ffs. Would be terrible if we sold Marveaux like.
  9. I don't get this. We've only sold James Perch who is legitimately only decent in a position where there's 6 better alternatives. I'll only be concerned if we sell Willo and Marveaux. Tbh if we did sign Bent, i'd rather we sold Cisse.
  10. Horrible idea. We already have a Darren Bent style player on the books. We certainly don't need two.
  11. Money. He likes to make it and use it. He's getting on and isn't interested in taking 4-5 years to build a club like a Lambert which is fair. Give him the money like he had at Spurs and Pompey and he believes he'll win things and challenge for Europe. He's not interested in the Fulham type roles. Couple in with his love of the south coast. He's pretty much limited for teams to manage too. The QPR move made since when you factor in those regulations.
  12. I met an African American man/German married couple on holiday. Socks.
  13. bigi has potential and needs to play, either for us or on loan. If Perch was still getting picked over Aniat next season we would all be crying on here.
  14. Really don't think goals is a problem with Cabaye. 5 is a decent return in the PL A team should be starting with a minimum of 3 attackers - probably 4. Those attackers should get 40 goals between them. that's where we fall short.
  15. Agreed. Perch probably played too many matches ahead of other lads.
  16. Neither has Shola, scored shitloads of important goals I am talking about this season. Perch has been far more useful IMO. Goes without saying shola has scored some very important goals for us, just as Williamson was pivotal in our return to the premiership. Neither are good enough for what we need now and going forward. The versatility of perch alone makes him more useful IMO. That's very short sighted. In a good season Perch has never been more than a stop gap. Williamson has been a regular. Shola.. he's Shola.
  17. Williamson has not contributed less than Perch.
  18. Bigi can pass more than 5 yards. I don't think Bigi is a DM. Dare say, if his name was Johnny Whitehead, he would be told to model his game after Steven Gerrard or someone. His biggest attribute seems to be his technical skills and long range passing.
  19. Aaron Hughes comparison is lazy. Aaron Hughes was a regular first-team Premiership fullback for 6 seasons. Including playing in the Champions League and UEFA Cup. He's never even played in the Championship. James Perch is a good lad but he's no Hughes ffs.
  20. Fair enough, but Spain still played a game less than Brazil in this tournament as they could do a lot of changes because of the Tahiti game. To complain about being knackered when playing 60minutes less than Brazil during the tournament isn't really a good excuse especially as Oscar has over the last 18 months played Nah mate. Any athlete would rather Brazil's schedule than Spain's. I will say Brazil's home advantage is real. Not having the best side also works in your favour as the crowd really supported the team rather than added pressure. This is your problem CDropout, not only are you clueless you also base your opinions on created fact by yourself. I agree with the second sentence though, which on the other side isn't exactly science that the home team holds an advantage. The Spanish advantage was against Italy in the SF. Having 24 hours less to recover and having to play for another 1/3 was a disadvantage.
  21. Consider how the manager likes to pick his midfield and there are far fewer options. Disagree. there's actually another. Jonas. A bad thing I know.
  22. Din't think a CB is a must. 2 players that are there to score and assist are a priority. Wide man. Striker.
  23. Central midfield: Cabaye, Tiote, Sissoko, Marveaux, Ainita, Bigirimana. More than enough imo.
