£35m is a great price mind
-
Arjen Robben was a man excellent dribbler and could roast his man. Wor Barnes cannot.
-
Funnily enough this is my perception of him. A fairly lazy player who is quick direct and can finish. 25 years ago he would’ve been a poacher like Michael Owen or Darren Bent. I would prefer someone with more footballing ability but seems like Howe likes em direct.
-
City are taking most of the best youth in the area. Is that part of it? Theres like 4 London clubs making decent money off the academy alone - Fulham, Arsenal, Chelsea spring to mind
-
And Joelinton is probably #1 at LW
-
Gordon played just as much at RW as LW. This ‘he’s a LW’ talk is not true. Gordon has been versatile playing all along the frontline and I suspect that was part of the reason he was signed.

I mean.... Arsenal have done at least 80% of their incoming business already. They did the same last year. Liverpool similar. Finishing CL was a surprise for us. And we have sticky FFP issues short and long-term. So it's understandable that our transfers take a little longer. But make no question about it; it's not intentional in a positive way.
-
He's already 22 but you would think his game will change once he adds some strength. I thought he might be a decent CF with some strength. He carries the ball well but he's not a dribbler 1v1 at all. Some of that might be down to confidence. Atm he's a long way short physically of where we would like him to be. I've got hope for the lad but so far his signing asks more questions than provides answers. Is he our upcoming right winger? If so.. do we spend big money on another? I guess not. Is he our upcoming left-winger? If so... feels like he's a long way to go to get that shirt from Joe & ASM. When is the final? Btw I'm glad I never ridiculed the MGW transfer to Forest. Looks solid value for money. I would like to see if he could play as an #8, he seems to mostly play off a striker.
-
If they can get Saudi money for the rapist they’ll be laughing. ESR, Balogun, Tierney might get their Declan Rice money back.
-
We need a sticky detailing the FFP rules man. Instalments have nowt to do with it. And some basic accounting principles.
-
That’s not going to happen though. Barnes will cost as much as ASM
-
Depends on transfers. As it stands, I would take any European football.
-
When have I done that in my reply to you? I’ve said what you’ve said + context.

Again zero love for the woman. She’s said same horrible things. I’m pointing out the double standards, racism and misogyny for the next little black girls growing up to be able to live a life with less scrutiny.
-
Aye it’s the way that she talks. That’s THE reason people have such a problem with her. And then she always plays the race card. Because it’s not her race and gender that’s the problem, it’s her pointing it out when she’s criticised that’s the problem. They used to say MLK overplayed the race card uno.
-
Yeh because being black and a woman is controversial to many people. The scrutiny is x100. The lead singer of the red hot chilli peppers raped with a 14-year old as a grown man and made a song about it. You’ll have to google that to fact check it, doesn’t make it any less heinous an act.

Likewise injury and age could have a bigger impact on his game

Like the time Murphy said a shot that hit the post should count as ‘a Shot on target’? Or the time he kept calling Dubs ‘Dubrovnik’ despite Dubs having already made 100 appearances for us? Or this year when he (and Simon Jordan) didn’t comprehend the Lisbon Lions of Celtic won a legitimate quadruple - all 3 domestic Scottish titles and the European Cup - with a team almost exclusively born within 10 miles of Celtic Park. I found that after a quick google. Must be many more, Murphy is never shy if a job. All of those factually incorrect and 2 being disrespectful and ignorant to boot. None generating as much noise as Aluko’s LIVED EXPERIENCE and IDEA that (while seeming fanciful) is at least plausible. It’s almost like other factors are at play.
-
Yes but not to the same extent. Being a lighter skinned black person and being considered attractive are 2 things that have been proven to improve life outcomes so that isn’t a surprise. She also says less controversial things tbf. Also Vini Jr gets racial abuse up and down la liga. Rodrygo doesn’t. Does that mean Vini Jr doesn’t receive racism from those very same fans? No. So.. does that make the racism Vini receives ‘imaginary’? No. Racism is complex and impacts different people to different extents. Danny Murphy is a more prominent a media personality than Aluko. He doesn’t get the same level of stick. Every time Aluko is on TV some people start talking. That doesn’t happen for Murphy.
-
Aluko only gets so much stick for 2 reasons……. I have no love for her. But she gets way more stick than any other pundit for obvious reasons.
-
His close control is brilliant. He’s not a dribbler or anything but that’s not down to close control. Haaland’s attributes are ‘overpowered’. He’s not as good at as many things but the things he’s good at, nobody can get close and they have an outsized impact on goal scoring. Kane is as good as it gets for a player with 0 speed, flair and agility. If he had any of the 3 he would win Ballon D’or.
-
What does excellent look like for him?
-
Chelsea are doing this to do what they’ve done in the past with KDB and Lukaku and sell them. Madrid buy the very best and intend to play them.
-
ASM always wants the ball into feet. Rarely looks to get on the end of passing moved. Huge area for improvement. That Joelinton run? ASM almost never does it.
-
When it’s Livramento not going to the bigger club is short sighted. Not saying you I no particular. Real have a good track record in recent years of developing youngsters. Either to play (Vini, Camavinga, Valaverde, Rodrygo) or sold (Odegaard). I suspect they won’t sign a striker and will start the season with Rodrygo and Joselu as the striker. Meaning there’s lots of opportunity to play at RW. Only Valverde is there now.
