If trippier keeps performing, Trippier will keep playing. Are we going to guarantee Libra we’ll open a pathway for him to be #1 in 12 months? I doubt it. If he can recapture form and fitness. He would start for at least 13 PL sides. There’s probably only 4 or 5 teams with a definitively better RB in the PL and we are one of them.
-
He’s just had the 1 big injury no?
-
Aye But he’s not going to play. It just means we are allowed to register 1 more non-HG player. You don’t have to name any HG players in Europe iirc. But if you don’t you can only register 16 players. 1 HG you get 18. 2 you get 20. 3 you get a 22. 4 you get the full quota. Or something like that.

Summarises what I’ve read and seen succinctly.
-
Yeh of course. Played there a bunch for Everton. Also an option at ST and 8.
-
He left Chelsea for regular game time. He’s a PL level defender, why would he want to be on the fringes? We need to convince him that he’ll share a lot of minutes with Trippier. If we can’t then he shouldn’t come. A full season in the Champ at 20 years old isn’t a terrible scenario.

Howe didn’t give Dummett a sniff. He’s not an option. IDKW he was given a new contract. But it wasn’t to play premier league football
-
Lavia wanted to leave though. Players can force through transfers. There’s no chance of Johnson going from Forest to Everton though. It’s a sideways step at best. Forest have done all the meaningful pro development of the lad and if he was sold he would be sold to a team that finished above Forest. I just spent 5 minutes thinking of something. I’m sure those at FIFA towers could think of a way to ensure sell-on clauses benefit smaller clubs rather than larger ones. If they wanted too. Which they obviously don’t.
-
Of course they do. I don’t think sell-on clauses should be allowed if selling to a team below you in the league or in a league below. It’s bad for the player and bad for the club that develops that player at that level. ‘I can’t be bothered to clear a path for you to become a top player at my club. But I want half the spoils if you become a top player elsewhere’. It’s bullshit. And you shouldn’t be allowed both a buy-back and sell-on clause. It’s hedging bets on all angles.

Like the look of them both.

Can’t stay fit
-
Way better striker of the ball. He reminds me of a short black Arjen Robben. He’s got that finish down pat with a low centre of gravity.
-
Player a lot there for Everton. I like the AMad Diallo kid from Man U at Sunderland. Man U need transfer fees for FFP. Goy bags of talent. Only issue is Man U would demand 50% profit split on future transfer. (lad has shown more ability than Gordon imo)
-
Don’t want Phillips. He doesn’t do anything our other CMs can’t do. We need creators and scorers. Whether at 8/10 or RW.
-
Almirons got that slight physique where he’ll carry pace and stamina for a good few years. I’m not concerned by his age. I think he needs to be upgraded but I expect him to play a ton of minutes next season no matter who we sign. His intensity and pressing is almost like our playmaker. Him and Joe kind of set the tone for the team.
-
Howe doesn’t trust him for regular minutes. His career development stalled last season as he barely played. It will stall further if he continues to be last choice CM with minimal minutes. I don’t think we are ‘well stocked’ at CM. If we played AV tomorrow with everyone fit, we’d start 4 of our 5 serious options.
-
Anderson needs to go out on loan man.
-
Gordon played more from RW than LW at Everton iirc. A lot of crosses and left footed shots.
-
I’m thinking of literal rotation where there’s no tactical or performance element to it. The way Isak & Wilson rotated or Klopp rotated Matip and Konate in the previous previous season. Both of those had the dynamic of load management for an older injury prone player and easing a young foreign player in the team/league and intensity of play.
-
Klopp doesn’t rotate that much either. TAA, Robertson, VVD, Salah play 95% of the games they are fit for. Only in extreme patches does he rotate them. And some players can cope with intense games. Pep has spoken in the past how Sterling or Vernardo can cope with a tremendous game load. You see Bruno F never injured, play 90 3x a week. It’s the accumulation of injuries and pace of games that will make Howe use more of the squad. At his age Trippier will need to be rested. Wilson minutes need to be managed because of his injury record. But your Longstaff, Willock, Joe - he’ll run these to the ground. Only rotation we’ll see for rotations sake is league cup and FA cup + extreme congestion. Burn was looking tired and out of form with a fit deputy and Howe kept playing him. He only started Anderson when we had injuries or things got stale. He was never rotated in despite the other lads playing loads of minutes.
-
Howe doesn’t do rotation for the sake of it. I expect earlier subs. Maybe Tonali rotating with Longstaff until he gets up to speed. Joelinton will get a lot of minutes at LW so 4 out of 5 will start a lot of games. More games = more injuries and more games missed through injury. If everyone is fit I don’t expect Anderson to get a lot of minutes
-
He had 9 g/a which is decent. If he had hit his expected numbers he would’ve been on 13 which is genuinely good.
-
Joelinton lacks guile and finishing ability at LW to be considered an A at LW. Botman is probably better in the air than Schar defensively. But has a lot of the same weaknesses and strengths. Composed, reads it well, good on the ball, can be aggressive, good concentration. Struggles against pace, not an attacking threat aerially. And Botman has had Burn in close proximity all season. Schar is left far more exposed.
-
Definitely not A at LW. And I think a solid B+ at CM. Im not certain Botman is A either. He’s not as good as Isak, Trippier or Bruno imo. Not sure he’s currently better than Schar either.
