  1. Liverpool and Chelsea likely to be better. All of the top 6 can spend more than we can within FFP. We have to be spend better than them, better coached than them etc. all while starting from a lower base. Nearly all the top 6 have generational talents in their youth strip too. Weve had a lot of fun players playing to the limit of their abilities. A more talented squad playing par could easily get less points than we had after 19 games (38 points)
  2. Arsenal haven’t managed that for a decade. It’s extremely difficult. Btw Arsenal gambled with FFP in the summer after spending for a good few years now.
  3. Aye. I love that we have a real plan but sometimes you have to deviate when faced with a massive opportunity. We could be a much better team next season and further away from the top 4.
  4. Agree with this. do you think selling players on for massive profits is part of the long term strategy?
  5. Rafa made a good point. No pressure on the ball = drop off. But we don’t seem to do that. As much as Trippier was poor, is that type of thing inevitable without pressure on the ball?
  6. I hope Eddie learns from this. Similar thing could have happened against Arsenal. They played through our press and had opportunities to get some goals. Had we been at our best prior I would get it. But after recent performances from us and Liverpool. That didn’t make sense.
  7. They did. And they beat the team in 4th 2-0 away from home. They are very fallible defensively for sure. And they will surely continue to drop points. But also, with players getting fit they’ll be better than before and they should become better in front of goal.
  8. Bad mistake. Right idea. Massive consequences. Feel sorry for the lad. Keep playing that way big fella.
  9. Aye. We had such an opportunity man. Just 2 quality players would’ve made so much difference. We needed to keep our momentum. It’s not over like but I always knew momentum was doing a lot for us and without genuine quality additions we would eventually go back to mean.
  10. This lad needs to be starting man. I’ve repeatedly said I don’t really rate him. But he’s not going to improve being on the bench. To develop, he needs to start games and play a lot of minutes. I wasn’t impressed with his cameo in any case. I don’t see any genuine ability.
  11. Relying on Wilson, Isak and ASM to really turn up. Someone needs to hit a purple patch. Liverpool played with what, 5/6 attackers today. All of them would play a lot for us. They didn’t play well but they do have serious quality.
  12. The club didn’t want to go for top 4. FFP, no value in the market etc. I personally don’t agree with that strategy. FFP will be an issue for us until we are in the CL. If we are in position to capitalise with 19 games to go, we must go for it. I still believe we have a weaker squad now than at the start of the window. I don’t think we have the quality to finish top 4 which is fine. Would be happy with any type of European football.
  13. Apparently he’s not match fit. Which makes much more sense than what you’re saying. Hes 21 ffs. Same age as Gordon. 3 years older than Garnacho. He’s young but he’s not a kid.
  14. Is that why he’s not made the bench behind Paul Dummett?
  15. We learnt a lot going to 10 men last season. I think we can learn a lot today. Maxi behind Isak. 2 sitting in midfield. It’s an option.
  16. He’s slow for sure. But I wouldn’t go that far at all. We need some legs in defence but Trippier is one of our main guys.
  17. This is why I’m not mad at Pope. He gets it right 99 times out of 100 and has helped keep us a tight defensive unit. Standing on the line like that all the time costs so many goals.
  18. Man U have that same threat over the top has Liverpool that has caused us so much trouble.
  19. I’m annoyed at Burn. Not sure if he’s unlucky or should have done better. At least we had a good chance and a solid header.
