  1. Yeh. Apparently Liverpool get 20% and that’s massively high. Adidas manufacture and distribute it which is the bulk of the cost so why wouldn’t they get the lion share?
  2. I guess I’m beyond that point. Which I obviously agree with. It’s shit. For us.
  3. I meant besides us. The larger structure doesn’t care.
  4. Nobody else wants to spend £100m on a player though.
  5. Newcastle United are one of the biggest clubs in England. Top 10 at worst. Mike Ashley rode the legacy of the "brand" and exploited loyal fans to gut the club and keep it running as a shell company. Mike Ashley did whatever he could to keep us in the PL for the least amount of money as possible. And the odd relegation was ok. That's it. That's not what has happened at Brighton. The Owner has grown the club and brand tremendously The economic reality of the PL (without PSR) is if you sit outside of the top 6, you need one of the richest entities in the world to invest in you at a cost of billions - if you want to sustainably challenge for trophies. Of the 112 teams in the pro leagues, only 2 teams have an interest in doing that outside of the big 6. We have to stop of this mindset that the rest of the clubs are doing a Mike Ashley or somehow acting against their best interests. They want to grow in a way that financially beneficial.
  6. League Cup has more prestige now more than ever in my lifetime imo. Big clubs want to win it and have the squads to do it. The scheduling makes it better too.
  7. Villa already tried to raid It’s nothing like it. The owner of Brighton has taken them from league 2 to an established PL club. Improving every facet of the club. Brighton are close to maximising their potential. He’s built Brighton AFC. Mike Ashley’s Newcastle wasn’t the same thing at all.
  8. The revenue driver is the TV money. PL sales are a bonus. Neither club need sales to be grow in value. Brighton in particular have one of the healthiest wages to revenue ratios. Brighton have been stockpiling great talents they don’t need from clubs with PSR issues (us and Leeds). The other 12 will not mass revolt against FFP and PSR. We need to get that through our heads.
  9. My reply is in response to ‘can’t believe other clubs don’t want to change the rules’. Changing the rules means higher costs for them. Why would they want that?
  10. What other owners want to personally bankroll their teams?
  11. That's the bigger issue really. And again, is evidence that PIF weren't as invested mentally as we hoped. But they are also allowed to make mistakes. I assume they are watching things closer now.
  12. Not reading it. Amanda made costly mistakes but she did a lot more right and her communication with the fans is the best I’ve ever experienced from leadership.
  13. That’s a weird comment no ? Considering outside of Adidas, our biggest deals are a bit bogus. It’s only PIF that could prevent short term deals from other PIF parties
  14. Those are blocked. And we could really do with a couple more signings. We are in a position where 1 signing is the difference between CL and nothing. It’s still significant.
  15. Neither would the other sponsorships people name. Stadium, training kit etc. that’s no more than £8-15m per year. Thats 1 Tonali-ish signing or a Tino and Hall combo. It’s significant but not a game changer.
  16. PIF are spending lots of their own money as it is. If we are going to grow the football club owners will need to invest in the club. Substantially. Loans or their own pockets. Fortunately ours are using their own money. Don’t pay much attention to this Deloitte list. Over the next 6 months clubs will publish their accounts and we will have an accurate view.
  17. Joelinton has scored some nice goals, he’s not technically very good. Miggy has played a lot of games for us. He’s not a player feared for his technical attributes.
  18. Technically very good with his left foot is Laurent Robert, Hatem Ben Arfa, Arjen Robben, Lionel Messi, Lewis Hall even. Miggys has one of the most uncultured left foots we’ve seen at NUFC from an attacker.
  19. Yes that would be fine. Far too creative for our lot though.
  20. No he’s not. Not being able to touch the ball with his right foot is a massive technical limitation. Touch, pass, shooting - his technical limitation is crazy. It’s hardly a Laurent Robert left foot. It’s not even a Lewis Hall left foot.
  21. I also think we would’ve done better In this format. It’s a killer for the league though.
