The offside itself isn’t particularly close. There’s a gap between him and Pope. Upon review for me it’s a clear infraction. He’s factually offside. And he’s preventing Thiaw making an attempt to block the ball so he’s clearly interfering. No goal.

Aye keeps snatching. It’s that bit of class and composure we would see from Isak and Wilson. I do like Wissa. But I’m not sure he’s Wilson or Ba level which is not great considering the money spent. Let’s see. I do like him. He will score for us. Today we just needed that bit of quality you hope you get for £55m.

This I agree with as a lone 9. It’s an awkward fit for sure.
-
Great performance. Think he turned that pervert Pep on
-
Like his movement and box instincts. Not looked a player mind.
-
Regardless of his position - he doesn’t have a strikers instinct. Barnes isn’t a striker either. But he has a strikers instinct. Barnes is trying to get a clean contact on that and on target with his left. Woltemade doesn’t have the instinct. Hopefully he can develop it.

What’s wrong with the law? In this instance.
-
I’ll keep repeating it. We signed a striker that needed development. He’s got to learn. Needs to be quicker and more incisive in the box. Needs to not try and take that extra touch.
-
Had one really nice touch.
-
It’s Pope’s fault City sliced us open? it was a poor kick. But we had plenty opportunity to defend. City zipped it past 4-5 players.
-
He gave away a throw in. Which apparently is the reason City sliced through our defence and scored.

Pope shanks one out for a throw in. City carve us open like butter but it’s Pope’s Fault. Ok. -

That’s just his game though. A striker or whatever. He like to take that extra touch. -

The linesman didn’t flag Haaland as offside so there’s no decision for the ref to make if he’s interfering with play. It’s also not immediately obvious in live action. Haaland is literally interfering with Thiaw who would otherwise be attempting to block the ball. He doesn’t make an attempt because he and Haaland are hugging. It’s a great call.
