  1. Been there? Heard so much good about Russia (or at least Moscow and St Petersburg), or is this just some ignorant opinion based on what you've read online? Russia is an abhorrent country that does horrible things to its people. It’s also the worst possible spot for an international sporting event given its well recorded history of state-sponsored cheating. If you can ignore all of that I suppose it might be a nice tourist spot, but I have no interest in it whatsoever. I don't disagree, but feels like double standards. Not gonna litter this thread into a political thread however. As a sporting event I think it will be great, especially since their state-sponsored cheating won't mean anything in this sport. You did see the draw, right? I did. Every World Cup there's a few weak groups. Let's be honest, the real reason you're not interested is because you think South Korea will come out of this with 0 points. I think you've guys got an ok chance of going through to the next round. Both Sweden and Mexico are underwhelming teams, they're good, but nothing special. The most corrupt rich country in the world walked into a draw organized by the most corrupt organization in the world and walked away with the weakest group in modern World Cup history. How confident are you that nothing shady happened? These guys made Donald Trump President man, you think they can't mess with some ping pong balls in a draw being held in the goddamn Kremlin? #infowars

  5. Agreed. Plus when it's held in the third world you have the added bonus of hosts embarrassing themselves horrifically during it. On the pitch you mean? Cause I've been to World Cups in Asia, Europe and South America and have thought them all to be very good tournaments from a fans perspective off the pitch. No doubt in my mind this one will be as good as the others off the pitch.
  6. WC is always going to be criticized unless it's in Western Europe. Same in Brazil, South Africa etc. Don't worry, the WC in Brazil was great and so will the one in Russia be.
  7. Didn't think it was a dive at all tbh. Maybe I'll have to see it again, but looked clear.
  8. Even at this level Sissoko plays like a donkey. How the hell did we get £30m for him?
  9. Haven't watched him/them much but thought Douglas Costa was canny against Spurs Don't really agree, thought he started very well for ten minutes and had moments he looked bright, however he kept having trouble keeping possession in his own half. Was at the game and he was the most criticized player by the Juve fans. Made a lot of wrong decisions imo. People were asking for him to be subbed off early. Him, Allegri and De Sciglio got endless amounts of abuse by the fans in the 2nd half. Fair enough, thought he was their most dangerous player on the ball by a mile mind even if he did lose it a bit That's true, but their whole team was garbage for 75mins. Was ridiculous to see how well they started and how quickly they went away from what was working to just sitting deep even if Spurs did it extremely well.

  11. For some odd reason Tite has come out with his starting XI and 16 players that will be in the squad. Allison (Ederson, ?) Dani (?) - Miranda (T.Silva) - Marquinhos (?) - Marcelo (?) R. Augusto (?) - Casemiro (Fernandinho) - Paulinho (?) Coutinho (Willian) - G. Jesus (Firmino) - Neymar (?) Pretty much expected although I hope we get a surprise or two in the squad. Douglas Costa has been poor while Malcom and David Neres have done well in their leagues. That central midfield lacks creativity unless you play Coutinho there. As for Lascelles, I definitely think he should be 4th choice and in the squad.
  12. Wasn't expecting that accent The only thing I could think of as well.
  13. Jesus. He created three very good chances and had one pass which was a tad to strong for Alves and one which Varane blocked perfectly or Cavani would’ve scored. He’s not Messi ffs.
  14. Ridiculous analogies , ridiculous logic and statements which aren't true. (re, article)
  15. What a load of rubbish when talking about Allegri, he's a fantastic manager and one of the best tacticians around. Like I wrote afterwards I wrote that because of my strong dislike for his philisophy. Really don’t see him as one of the best either. One of the best tacticians doesn’t go up 2-0 and then at home gets outplayed for 70 minutes by Tottenham. His tactics let them back in the game. You can dislike the way he plays/sets his teams up but he certainly isn't a fraud. I think he's a superb manager. Has a creepy smile, mind. Well Emery isn't a fraud either if we're going to be sensible.

  17. Do people rate Emery? he's a known big match flop, i mean he's not a bad coach but he's constantly been bad when it matters going back to his Valencia days. Mentally he's just not strong enough to manage a club that aims to win trophies every year. Disagree on Allegri mind, he's consistently had to retool the Juventus squad because they keep selling their best players and they remain competitive. I just have a strong dislike for the style of football implemented by Allegri in important games. Was at the game on tuesday and seeing Juventus defend deep straight after going 2-0 and not even try to attack for most parts and when they did having Higuain and a poor Douglas Costa trying to counter-attack by themselves was ridiculous. The italians around me didn't have nice words towards Allegri. When it comes to Emery, he makes multiple weird decisions every game. Doesn't cost them in the league since most teams are ridiculously bad, but in the CL? At least the return leg is going to force them to play an attacking football. Hope Motta is back for it as well as he's an integral part of the team as PSG clearly lack depth in central midfield.
  18. Call him and ask him. Lo Celso was having a nightmare and had a yellow card and he took Cavani off.
  19. Worst manager in ages. Taking Cavani out and leaving Lo Celso on was a big mistake. but you said the same Cavani was so s**** and was stealing poor main mans limelight. The manager gave main man the amunition to do the job but it was slightly cold and Madridy so he had to hide instead. Poor main man. Such an unfair pressure on him.
  20. He was, but Emery was probably even worse. Some of his decision are mindboggling.
  21. Emery just like Allegri are footballing frauds.
