  1. I wish. With him we'd finally have a decent nr 9 since Adriano. Luis Fabiano was good as well, but Diego feels like a step above. f***ing Spain. Senna, Thiago, Diego Costa, now Rodrigo as well. or rather, f***ing CBF that seem unable to convince anyone Have a word with yourself, Thiago wasn't even born in Brazil You've got the younger brother though, he wants to play for Brazil So he should be playing for Italy then? Just remember this though, he has no spanish blood. Pure Brazilian is what he is Both are made out of glass so it doesn't matter, none will ever play 5 consecutive games by the looks of thing.

    The England Thread

Well half-and-half scarves are perfect for friendlies, and this is basically a friendly isn't it?
  4. What an excellent finish by Kokorin for Russia.
  5. Except Motta offers far more than being tidy. Not sure if that was Taydicks point, but if he means Motta is only tidy then it's ridiculous. I don't think it refers to Motta, I was just agreeing with the sentiment.
  6. Ronaldo really isn't a magician all the time. I've seen him disappear in so many games man, and many of them important ones. Just look at the CL final, he didn't perform at all. It wasn't until Di Maria and Marcelo turned it up a notch that Real won it. I'm not taking anything away from him, but Zidane's ceiling was IMO definitely higher thaN CRonaldo. Anyways, doesn't matter. Different players, different era. I don't think he disappeared per se in the champions league final, I just think he finds it very difficult to play against Atletico as they don't allow him the space he needs He still disppeared, whether that was down to Atletico coping with him or not he didn't have a good game in the final.

What in the actual fuck man?

  9. I really don't think Motta and Matuidi are better players than him. I can see why Matuidi plays as he's so energetic and gives that midfield legs but I think YoCabs could come in for Motta and do just as good a job. Nah, no way, Mottas is the player you don't take out in that midfield. He's by far their best midfielder. I think he's a tad overrated, myself. He's a very tidy player and intelligent but I don't think PSG need him for a lot of Ligue 1 games (CL is a different story). If Cabaye came in for him: they could still keep possession well, the midfield balance would still be there and they'd have a player that offers more going forward. It's pretty crucial they keep on developing Veratti, who'll eclipse all of them if he keeps on progressing. Ideally, you'd get take out Matuidi, but I think if you had a midfield 3 of Motta, Veratti and Cabaye then it's a bit powderpuff and one-paced (even for Ligue 1). Agree to disagree then, I'd ideally take Veratti out for Cabaye when they need goals. Matuidi is a cert in that midfield with Motta for me. There's no way of twisting it, I really believe both have to play for PSG to be at their best.
  10. Seen very little of Brahimi, but isn't he more of an advanced technical player?
  11. Fair enough. Era/Generation. For me they're in different times considering it's 13 years between them and Zidane quit when CRonaldo was starting to become the player we all know him as.

Anyways, doesn't matter. Different players, different era. I disagree with most of that, right down to it being a different era. Lets be honest here KI. Only thing you can disagree with is that Zidane had a higher ceiling since that is my opinion. The rest are facts.

  15. This post You are either deliberately forgetting the 2006 World Cup to suit your argument or didn't watch it at all. No one is saying CRonaldo isn't one of the greatest, but if it was down to one final game and I had to pick between the two, I'd take Zidane 10 times out of 10. The guy was simply the best when it mattered the most. v Brazil 98', Portugal 00', Bayer Leverkusen 02', game against Spain, Brazil, Portugal and even Italy until the headbut in the 06' World Cup. He was just that good at his best, what CRonaldo has over him is consistency, that doesn't mean Zidane wasn't consistent, just meant he turned it up a notch in the most important games.
  16. That's what I enjoy the most about him, such a prick on the pitch Always looking to get under players skin. I'd still play Cabaye instead of him for PSG because of the sheer fact they need to score at the moment, but Veratti is going to be a player that will play until his late 30's considering the way he plays the game.
  17. CD must have been so unlucky if Veratti has been poor every time he's seen him. He's inconsistent no doubt, but has such a high ceiling.
  18. Giving a 9 to Ronaldo and 10 to Messi says it all about Ronaldo. He played one season, as a 20-21 year old at Barcelona. Imagine what would've been of him without injuries. Already before joining Barcelona he had trouble with injuries at PSV. The guy was everything you could ask for from a number 9. That said Messi is the best player I've seen play.
  19. Xavi is one of those that will always be remembered as a fantastic player but not in the same bracket as the top. Unfortunately, at his prime he was such an amazing footballer but I think both Iniesta and Messi outshone him a bit in the end.
  20. Just remember watching him desperately trying to reach 1000 goals in his career. Was like 40 or something and started forcing Vasco to arrange friendlies against tiny regional clubs in Rio where he would score 4 or 5 a game Such a legend. Much more occupied with women and alcohol than football, yet he managed to achieve everything he did.
  21. Nah, no way. Ronaldinho had a two year peak at the absolute best man, Zidane had far more consistency than that. Ronaldinho did put Barcelona back on the map after a few years of decline and was a foundation to the winning sides after him, but as a player Zidane was better and had a better career as well. Understand what you mean but Romario is in the real top tier though, top player in the early to mid 90s. Him and Roberto Baggio are the two best player of that generation as I consider Maradona more of a 80s player than a 90s player where he got into loads of trouble. Romario was far more than goals, in terms of talents few players reached his, unfortunately he was content being the best during his time than have ambitions to be the best of all times. I know what you're saying, his goal record is def padded out a bit though! I wouldn't take it away from him but technical ability he was miles below Zidane imo His goal record is bullshit man He started playing friendlies against shit teams in mid 2000s just so he could reach 1000 goals in his career Played amateur sides and counted them as career goals, officially he was never close to the 1000s.
