Thought he retired about 3 year ago! Been scoring goals and playing at a decent level until last year. Even if that is the Angolan league He's been the president of Mogi Mirim for couple of months or so now. Played a game like Tooj said with his son. I'd rather have Rivaldo ten years from now than Shola today

Was obviously Pardew's subs. Doubt Carver even made one decision throughout the game.

Rivaldo retired yesterday, say what you want about him in terms of what he's done but he was one of the best players I'll ever see. In the last 15 years I can only think of Messi having a better left-foot. Unbelievable in his prime and was miles ahead of anyone in the 2002 World Cup and should've won best player of the competition. The amount of players Barcelona have had in their prime man... Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta. Fucking hell.

Said this a while back, and got slated for not giving him time. I really don't see how he's starting PL games except for the fact that he's a local lad. Absolutely horrendous in my opinion. I'm willing to be proved wrong but he must be sent out on loan and show he can perform in the championship at least.

Just seen the goal, what a terrible moment for Krul that was.

Thought you were going to love that tackle Also, never rating Ramires is horrible. One of the best midfielders in the league. Nonetheless, horrible tackle, at first I thought he just came late but replays did look like he went into it to kill someone. I love a fair tackle, but I hate cowards like Ramires. He's got a great engine, but he's an ordinary footballer. A bit like Sissoko. Jesus f***ing christ, comparing Ramires to Sissoko. Comparing a guy who's been targeted by both Real Madrid and Barcelona to a guy who still hasn't found his potential as both the main man and a support role for his club team positioned in midtable. I like Sissoko, I really do, and really blame Pardew a lot for his bad performances throughout this year. But you can't compare him to Ramires who's a superior footballer in every way. As if Ramires ever will play for Barca or Real Madrid Way too limited. The same way he won't play for one of the best national teams in the world? Same way he doesn't play for the best team in English football? The same way he didn't play and wasn't integral part of a CL team? This discussion is ridiculous. Firs time he gets a straight red in his European sejour if I'm not completely mistaken. He does have a tendency to be a bit rash when frustrated, but never seen him as a cowardly player or as a dirty player. He was extremely dirty here, but in the last 2 season he's gotten sent of twice and both in the same fixture. One was undeserved and the other was monstrous. Got sent off for doing that Bayern player in the Supercup, pretty sure he's gotten away with a couple too. Hate tackles like today. There should be an extra ban attached, it's nowt but trying to injure a player, rank behaviour. True, that one was another really bad one. Maybe it's the Mourinho effect . But I agree with you, horrible f***ing tackle today. It's just cowardly and he deserves a 6 match ban at the very last. I'd say a standard 6 match ban for those tackles should be implemented whether refs see or not and then add matches if the players is injured. Well if I was the FA boss I'd give tackles like that a season ban because they're f***ing horrible and life to that Rayos guy in Israel and his tackle. Nah it's not just a Mourinho thing, he has definitely done a few of those over here prior to that. Fair enough Two straight red for a coward in 5 years is quite good then I'd guess.

In other news how didn't Bale get a penalty in the Real match? Such a clumsy tackle from the Malaga defenders. One of the clearest penalties I've ever witnessed.

He's scoring so little under Mourinho. Luckily for me when he plays for the national team he's sharing the role with Paulinho as ''second DM'' basically box-to-box where he thrives the most. Getting into the box from his speed and engine. He's excellent defensively, I guess his real weakness is like you say his creativity. Never seen him pick a pass to slice a defense up, but then again that's not his job.

Tackles like that should really get 5-6 matches. 3 matches just isn't enough. I think he got sent off wrongly last year in the same fixture though for a high foot that never touched the Villa player.

Also fucking lovely seeing Chelsea get some decisions against them. The red on Willian was terrible refereeing, and I thought the break up play for the goal was a free-kick at first, haven't seen it again. Reminded me like the Ben Arfa v Arsenal (think it was) where someone clattered all over him from behind and nothing was called.

Nah, best team in the league in the best league in the world.

Fucking realised people would have a go at me
-
My sincere opinion, no matter who the player had been. Not being biased here for once.
-
That's a terrible second yellow from the ref. Horrible refereeing.

You have to go man, Urugua v England were one of the first games to be sold out and Netherlands v Chile is probably a group deciding game. Actually think I'll be giving it my best to make it. Already am on verge of getting a weekend job as a private chess tutor, and my birthday is a month before, so maybe parents will be generous. f*** me, this is shaping up to be a great year. These opportunities don't come along every day after all. Swear to god, that opportunity doesn't come along ever for some. Great opportunity that.

I agree with that, had to keep it tight as an away goal kills the tie stone dead. Hate Pardew but he had no choice but to do what we did for that particular fixture. Don't agree whatsoever, letting a team that is up 2 goals already in the tie control possession and sit safe is a terrible decision. I understand being cautious, but there are plenty of ways to be cautious. It was cowardly managed by him, and like people say one of the big reasons we went out. He basically let us rely on chance/luck and that is why he'll never be a good manager/tactician.

Arbeloa knee injury makes him a big doubt for the World Cup. I'd rather they played him than Carvajal tbh. Two very average right-backs but at least Carvajal isn't as prone to red cards as Arbeloa...
-
Still don't get this ban at all. Hoeness gets 3.5 years for tax frauding, but this guy completely escapes jail for being a complete fraud as a human being.

Just watched a recap of the 2010 World Cup quarterfinals between Brazil and Netherlands. I will never in my life understand how we lost that game. So one sided all throughout. Japanese ref was miserable and the dutch players dirty (granted Felipe Melo was worse). We outplayed them, fucking Stekelenburg, happy he's in a terrible Fulham side. Can't believe that dutch side went to the finals, must be one of the worst teams to go that far ever.

Really don't remember us bossing second leg. Remember Pardew deciding to put the team to attacking with 20 minutes to go and Benfica being in control for most of the game until those 20minutes. Pardew was relying on us scoring twice in the last 20, which was close to paying off, but which is also a ridiculous decision.

It's weird cause this is how I see it as well. Sure he's better than what we got, but for the money being talked about we should stay clear in my opinion. As some others have said as well I'd prefer Caulker. If this happens we might as well kiss next season good bye already as well. Mike has done enough for me to be considered a 4th or possibly even a 3rd CB for a club in the PL, but I still think he's way far off to be a starter in this league.
