The mood really has changed in this thread over the last week or so. Kid was getting slated for couple of bad performances and some were willing to flog him away for some money since we bought Haidara. This guy has the potential to be a starting fullback for Italian national side. He's just that good at times.

I'm actually not surprised at all at how we are playing him. I've compared to many others here have always seen Cabaye more as lying playmaker in the sense that he doesn't have the pace or goalinstinct to play that AM role efficiently every game. Obviously he'll have his day, but I find him much better at dictating tempo with his vision and ability to pick a pass, with Siss infront of him and a player like Tiote behind him, I have no doubt we have a winning and possibly one of the best centre mids in the league.

The positive thing is that ever since Ba left he has had so many chances to score. Should probably have had 10 during January.

No way that is a red in todays football. The amount of shirt pulling and all that kind of stuff, giving a pen after a missed chance would be extremely harsh. If that's a pen I'd guess Villa have every right to suggest the Perch tackle on Weimann also was a penalty.

6.5 to Cisse? He created our 2-2 goal and was linking up play very well today. For me Perch was the worst of the bunch, didn't have a bad game, just wasn't up to the same standard as the rest and lost the ball too much. Hope we see Anita back against Spurs if Tiote is still out.
