Bet you it will. Tottenham have already been looking into this, as that Times article alluded to, my boss is a Spurs fan and they think its coming. Chelsea have got a deal lined up for next year too haven't they? They have because owners aren't allowed to sink money in anymore come the new fair play rules, its why Man.City get £400m a year for their stadium, thats cheating to me but, not sure of the figures but you have to generate a certain percentage of turnover to cover wages/cost etc. They don't get £400M a year for the stadium They're getting £400m over 10 years in a combined deal that covers their stadium, shirts and a sports complex next to the ground.

It's deluded. We haven't got the history and prestige Liverpool and Man Utd have. Let's moan about tradition when we've got a few European cups and 19 league titles under our belt. Where's the furious anger about the Leazes and Gallowgate renaming? Just griping about nothing. The tradition of the stadium doesn't come down to trophy's you fucking clown.

Not a chance, what's happening here with the stadium name is sickening and should be stopped at all costs, however its something that's happened at multiple clubs in the past. No club, AFAIK, has ever change the colours of its home strip to match a sponsor.

Yeah lets change the clubs name to the Sports Direct Rapids while we're at it, because being attached to the name Newcastle United would be really silly.. If this happens I won't set foot in the stadium again. Ashley's done some stupid things in the past, but this would be going too far.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Just watched the full match. I was at work on Saturday so I had to make do with radio Newcastle at the time. I have to say I'm baffled at the commentary as far as Ben Arfa's performance goes now that I've seen the match. When I was listening at work Mick Martin especially made it sound like he was really poor, at one point he was shouting at him "Pass the ball son!" ect, really having a go as if he was costing us possession. He lost possession once and that probably should have been a free kick when the ball hit Cahills arm. Other than that he kept it well, drew fouls to give us free kicks, passed it well when he had to, chased it down and made some good runs. Thought he played well, especially considering he's still not fit.
  6. Yeah i am always relieved when a player gets injured coming out of a good performance. One less player in a small squad with 4 tough games in the next month? Get the fuck in!!!!!! We're short in certain areas but right wing isn't one of them, and its only a very short term injury. Calling it a blessing in disguise does seem harsh, but it might not be that far from the truth IMO. Its not like we're going to be without Obertan for ages, just long enough to give two very talented players a little chance in the side. A player like Obertan would be of more use imo against City than either. Plus the obvious benefits of having a good player to come off the bench rather than a raw kid like Sammy say otherwise. Why would Obertan be of more use against Man City? Also we do still have a good player to come off the bench who can play in that position, since both Marveaux and Ben Arfa can play there. HBA can yes, will he? According to the bloke that counts its no. Obertan's pace on the counter against a team like City would have been more use, have you seen them this season, Pardew is likely to go 4-5-1 so quick counter-attacking will be our biggest threat! It will be a match more of containment rather than attacking flair. Marveaux's not exactly slow and seems to have a far better Football brain to go with it. Also I know Pardew doesn't see Ben Arfa as a winger but that doesn't mean he wouldn't bring him on in that position if necessary. Like I said, I'm not celebrating because Obertan's injured, but I'm not gutted either, it has both negatives and positives to it.

Obertan getting injured for one month isn't a good thing obviously, but its not a particularly bad thing either.
  8. Wasn't an example as such. More tongue in cheek. But when Perch comes on for Cabaye - a lot is possible. There was nothing wrong with bringing Perch on for Cabaye given the situation. If he'd started Perch ahead of Cabaye you'd have a point.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

It also wasn't the right game for him to come on against Stoke, pretty sure he'll get time on the pitch against Everton.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Yeah cos we're going to carry on like this all season, suffer no injuries and nobody's going to suffer a loss of form. You are missing my point, of course he'll get some game time, but for him to shine he has to or needs to be the main man and when everybody is fit and performing well as is the case right now, I cannot see him being that main man for us. Pardew would be mad to bring him into this team as a first teamer right now because we are doing so well. Yet he clearly needs games. I know what you're saying but I think the other point that's being made here is that the team as it is right now may not be the same team for the rest of the season (at times it definitely won't be). When Ben Arfa gets his chance he could take it and become a main player in the team. I'm just glad that we have players like Ben Arfa, Marveaux and Santon who can come into the side if we hit a dip in form or if we have injuries. Its then up to them to keep themselves in the side and with the way Pardew seems to play it if they do well they'll stay in the team.

You need more than a first 11 and things change throughout the season as far as how players are playing and how the team is playing overall, as well as injuries. What happens in January when we lose Ba for a few weeks? What happens if we get an injury to Best or one of our wingers? What if one of the attacking players starts to under perform or the team just doesn't have enough creativity in certain games and needs something a bit special? I think its crazy to say that its not going to happen for Ben Arfa here because he wouldn't get into the side right at this moment. If he has another game like he had against Everton would Perdew drop him for the next game?
  13. No it depends how we play, we certainly don't need to rely on Everton playing poorly to be able to win the game. Everton are a decent side, but as long as we give it our all we should win. Not sure why they're getting talked up so much on here. Having said that a draw would be a decent result.

    Sunderland...

Michael Chopra on SSN earlier talking about his gambling problems. He mentioned how his debts got so bad he had to sign for a team just so he could pay off his debt with the signing on fee, guess who the team was
  15. Which is why the ignore function is completely useless Its broken-ish like, it would work perfectly if every single person on the forum used it though
  16. For fuck sake Interpolic I can see his post when you quote him
  17. Christmas Tree writes much better posts when you have him on ignore, try it
  18. Gary Neville was WAXING LYRICAL about Jonas after the match. Did a little feature on him. Whatever that means. Was WAXING LYRICAL. It means nowt you clueless wum. Half the clips he showed ended up with us losing posession. Joint man of the match ffs  I nearly pissed myself at that, nobody can be that dense surely? Think he's got to go on my ignore list though, and I encourage everyone else to join me
  19. Exactly! And HBA has never been the same since the night club incident To this day am convinced he thought i was club security. Dont change the subject though Jonas had a great game tonight defensively. What incident like?
  20. Think Jonas just nicked man of the match today, as Gary Neville said on Sky (I don't like quoting him but he was right so..) he sacrificed most of his attacking threat for the team and was one of the main reasons we won the game.
  21. He's trying his best to turn a pathetic WUM attempt into an argument, just don't entertain him.
  22. A lot of kind words on that Stoke forum. Some equally moronic threads before the game like.
  23. Or the best, considering the bites. Nah a good WUM isn't so obvious, that way you get a full argument out of it
