No way the wage bill is under £30m, more like mid to high 40's. I definitely agree with the rest though.
-
Yeah like you were the only one who thought Enrique was any good Jonas creates space for others and pushed the opposition back. That's a pretty valuable attribute in itself.
-
Are you being serious?

Nolan is a decent Goal threat tbh, our best from Midfield. He used to be a decent goal threat from midfield, about 3 years ago. 0 league goals in 31 appearances for us and Bolton last season, and he's yet to have a good game for us since we signed him. The guy is more or less s****, tbh. We're not in the Premiership anymore. I'm not syaing he' lampard or nowt and if we were in the prem I would sell him but at this level he'll get anything up to 10 goals. I'd challenge anyone to name a better goal threat from our midfield. I'd have Barton down as a bigger threat like if he was played in central midfield.
-
The point is its useless to look at how effective Nolan has been last season because we're not longer playing in that division. Lets see if he can be effective in THIS league.

Not in this division its not (appart from the front line courtesy of Ameeba).
-
I doubt we want to keep either of them.

I didn't mean that specific goal, I meant that if we've got Lua Lua beating his man and squaring the ball for Ameobi and Carroll we are gonna score some goals no matter how bad Ameobi's finishing is. When was the last time Duff beat a man and got to the byline to cross? Yeah I agree, on the proviso Lua Lua is all he's cracked up to be. He's looked good in the glimpses I've seen of him for the first team (haven't seen a reserve game in a long time), but can he do it consistently? The one thing I'll say about Duff is he's a neat passer and carries the ball well for a lad with no legs, does Lua Lua retain possession well?
-
Or alternatively we could sell Duff and invest the same money in a better player on a quarter of his wages. Obviously that's unlikely to happen but if we're talking about what we should do that's it IMO.

if jfk gets the job you betya Don't do that, you're making me want Kinnear back
-
Wouldn't say it was a tap in either like, I'd expect someone like Barton, Nolan or even Guthrie to put it away though.
-
It wasn't exactly a great individual effort though, it was more a team goal.
-
That's another £100 he needs to drop off the wage bill, or if he puts it in another £100 he'll want back from any new owner.

Mad, deluded Geordie sheep. Ashley must be pissing himself. Obviously you'd prefer the fans to allow some fat cunt to dictate the level of our support? I'm much prefer fans turning up, supporting the team and shouting abuse to Ashley then not turning up at all. Were you at the Hull game last season? That really worked! One game is nowt, people should continue to support the team AND let him know he's not wanted every single game for the rest of the season. Withholding money from the club isn't going to make it easier for him to sell, its only going to mean he needs to sell more and more players to make up for the short fall in revenue.
-
Not sure how many times it has to be said but the fat prick has never seen a penny of our money.

So get a loan replacement then..
-
You could look at it that way... Honestly I'd bite Hodgson's hand off for 4m if we weren't in the state we're in now. But we all KNOW that there is going to be no replacement if Duff goes out the door. We really can't afford to sell any of our players, no matter how overpaid and past their best they might be. Apparently nobody was ever going to come in, yet we signed someone today. So how do you know there won't be a replacement?

Wow what a revelation, we all knew that Harry you prick. -
Its good to see that there are managers deluded enough to give us such amazing deals. The only way Duff could have done worse for us in his time here is if he had a shit in our 6 yard box at the beginning of every game.
-
I'd honestly rather keep Hughton than have O'Leary here. Actually, I'd sooner take Ossie Ardiles than O'Leary! You're both mad. We've never won a game with Hughton in charge, him being in charge for only 9 games last season got us relegated for f*** sake, he's the anti manager and made Kinnear look top class Wrong, we beat West Brom. I'm well aware he sat in the dugout during that match. But given the situation I've never given him credit for that win.
