How many chances can he get though? I was happy to give him a chance, despite previous incidents, but when he does things like he did in the Liverpool game, he shows how ridiculous he can be! I wouldn't assume Smith is staying yet and as far as I know we want rid of Geremi, unfortunately its not as easy to sell a player like Geremi as it is Martins, Bassong or Beye. I also think we need Barton now, we're low on midfielders and he's a player capable of being quality in the Premiership never mind the Championship. Where do they get these figures from? 65m? Do they have access to NUFC payroll systems? Yet again Geremi was a free transfer and he's on like £60-65k a week. With the players that have gone it should be in the low 50's now though. I wouldn't be suprised at all if Beye was on 50,000 a week, or at least close (45k maybe?). Compared to so many others at the club that may have been seen as a reasonable wage by Ashley (Owen 115,000, Viduka 80,000, Martins 70,000, Barton 65,000 ect).

It really isn't, the money will go into Newcastle United's accounts, not to Ashley. Is the club somehow not allowed to pay off loans like? He could if the money is actually an up front payment, but not while he's in the process of selling the club. Nobody's going to negotiate a 80/90/100m deal for a company while the owner is selling assets and funnelling the money out. Also I'm sure the bank would have something to say if he started paying off his loans with club money while they continue to finance it with a 35m overdraft facility, like for instance "where the fucks out money you fat fuck?". If he decides to stay he'd then need that money to keep the club afloat, so there's still no point in taking the money out of the club only to have to loan it back again when the financial year ends. People will say, well he's an idiot and he doesn't follow good business practice or logic, and that might be right for the most part. But the fact is he's never taken money out of the club so I don't see any reason to assume he'll do it now.

I dont think the club ever said they rejected 10m? It wasn't an official announcement but SSN said the bid had been rejected as did just about every other news source. I'd trust them over Redknapp.
