1) How much money would you need to have in the bank before you were willing to buy the club in the first place? (assume club can be purchased for £100m) £160m 2) Who do you appoint as manager? Shearer 3) Do you take a hands on approach with the clubs operations, or do you appoint a chief executive? Both 4) Do you appoint a director of football? No 5) How much money per season on transfers? depends on success 6) Who controls how transfer budget is spent? Manager 7) Do losses (excluding transfer fees) come out of the transfer budget or out of your wallet? Depends how big the losses are, both i suppose 8) What is your overall business plan? Get the club promoted, have an exciting young team, basically the SBR model I would hope 9) Would you ever intervene on any issue? Where do you draw the line on intervention? Not regards player sales/buys. 10) Where do you sit on match days? Directors Box 11) Would you maintain a high or low-profile? Middle, I'd communicate but I wouldn't go overboard 12) How do you respond to the press? Honest if its appropriate 13) How would you make future managerial decisions? Best man for the job, regardless of nationality etc 14) Would there be fan representation on the board? Not on the board but I would communicate with the fans and listen to what they have to say 15) Anything else you'd do? Stop all the lies and sort the club out

Just listened, sounds like he's bullshitting, hesitating at every moment. didnt think he would be lying but the way he sounds hes talking out his arse IMO. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/8186207.stm Looks very uncomfortable, body language all over the place. see when he starts talking about relegation n his time here he moves a lot less, but when he was talking about the job offer he was moving consntantly and looking away the whole time etc. I'm no psychology expert i could be talking out my arse but I've heard people talk about this stuff before

You need more than just being just a good football coach. Whoever comes in needs to be able to pick the players up, get the confidence back, inspire them, get the fans back on side, be charismatic, and tell the owners what needs to be done to gain promotion. I don't think Hughton, as good a coach, loyal and nice guy he may be, is capable of any of them.
-
He has said he is not a manager and is just a coach. And he is 50, not that young. Bottom line is somebody who is a manager has to come in

I think Bruce as manager is there best signing tbh. Will take us a long time to get back above them

Would Anyone Pay £140 For A Day Return Flight To Cardiff?
MW replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
A fair price. I'm paying £158.96 with FlyBe to fly Newcastle to Gatwick for the Crystal Palace game. Why did you not get the train £45 rtn. I'm happy to accept that for me personally if I didn't plan to make a weekend of it I'd likely pay £140 to save on all the shite of 16 hr round trip. Or 10 hrs on the train round trip + the fuck on of changing at Bristol etc. He's talking about the Palace match -
Fuck that, at least JFK would tell them off

Would really like to see Ranger and Carroll up front. Nile could do better as an impact sub though.

Seems this has all been another stalling tactic to avoid appointing Shearer because they didn't like his demands when they met with him after the season. It appears they want to try and get back up with largely the same squad of players and a manager who is as of yet to be revealed. Considering Harris' claims that Martins was sold because he didn't fit the Championship style and two are expected in, I would say the manager is already at work. With our rotten luck it will be O'Leary. Really don't see why that would be so bad given our situation. He's not that bad the villa players released a statement saying how shit he was and they wanted him out. that doesnt happen every day. What positions did he finish in? I really don't think we can afford to be picky atm, he's got a decent track record n seeing as we could end up with Kinnear or worse if its out there, we'd have to take him.
