2nd half has been absolutely awful.

What were the positives from the first half at Old Trafford? Apart from the peverse joy to be gained at watching Rooney miss sitters.

Just wonder when the Keegan blinkers are going to come off.

 

No-one's claiming it was a world cup winning performance here. It's just plain as could be that in the first half we created more chances than we had in a month under Allardyce. Lehmann was actually forced to make saves. We played the ball out from the back instead of just hoofing it straight back to them. Our wingers actually got past their men and put crosses in. At times we strung together over ten passes in a row. That is an improvement. The end was rubbish, no doubt, but when you look at the subs bench for both sides that isn't so surprising.

We were ok in the first half, rubbish in the second. SO it was one okay half better than under Allardyce. Woo hoo.

Taylor's a liability more often than not I'm afraid. The odd exuberant celebration and decent performance changes nowt.

 

On the other hand, Caçapa had a very good game imo. Infact, him and Carr were the only two players to have equally as good first halves as second halves, imo.

Butt Carr was poor. And Cacapa was "very good"? You just listened on the radio, didn;'t you.

honestly, where was zog the entire second half. i don't remember him even touching the ball once. i love the zog, but we could have used some individual brilliance from him.

 

In the centre-midfield, where he's gash. Sooner he's out on the left and Duff's on the right the better.

 

Duff had a very good first half, his movement was brilliant tbh and he was very dangerous - when have we had our wingers rushing to the byline and cutting it back like he did today? He wasn't in it in the second half but only really cos Jose was playing long-balls whenever he had the ball.

 

Milner was just pretty incompetent in general really. He really is painfully slow.

Back then we had ramage or edgar to come in if woody got injured but this time we have taylor, cacapa, rozenhal to choose from which is great

 

Not much youth in there aside from Taylor and Enrique though.

i agree with you in saying it's too early to say he'll be excellent but i've seen enough to make me think he can make the position his own for a long time.

And i've seen enough to make me think he could go either way.

Agree with above. Where as i would LOVE us to sign someone with a bit of spark in midfield, it's not essential until the summer. If anything it might be more benificial for Keegan to try and get the best out of what he's got so that he can have a real look at the problem areas and players he has.

 

Our new managers priority was always going to have to be about what they get out of the exsiting squad.

 

It's essential to maybe push on from here and try and get a uefa spot.

 

If new signings would give us a chance of that then waiting until the summer would be daft as we can attract better players if were in europe.

 

If not we best hope the intertoto route is open for us

I'd play Lua Lua and drop Milner, who has been dreadful of late. We're going to need pace on the break against Arsenal and Kazenga, although only having made two short cameo appearances, has looked as though he might be able to provide that, we already know Milner cannot.

What does he bring to the team? He's the best right winger we have, he takes full backs on, and he creates space for others to support him.

His crossing has been gash for the past few games, but he's not a bad player. I'd rather have him on the right that anyone else at this point. If we were jettisoning players after 2 or 3 indifferent games, we'd have an entirely empty first team.
