Really enjoyed that. Good to hear that he did actually think we could aim to trouble the "top" teams this season too and that Martin Hardy isn't just a big lying bastard.
He literally doesn't have any other options though, does he? Remy?
Our bench prediction for them today was Caballero, Christensen, Pasalic, Scott, Boga, Musonda and Remy.
Quite funny that a club with a squad of such size (technically speaking) can name a bench like that for the first weekend with only 5 senior players missing.
Not in the 18, he's at least third choice centre midfielder there currently.
Oh right. Why did they buy him?
Just to fill the albino quota, I think.
Seriously, for competition I'd guess. He only cost about £8m.
Liverpool still going to be good to watch for the neutrals then. Abysmal out of possession if the ball makes it past their initial press, far too pedestrian and lightweight in the centre.
So is it safe to assume there was an 11v11 going on in preparation for Spurs?
He's obviously not in either the first XI or the second XI now, so he wasn't involved, but got a shout when someone dropped out and then refused to join in?
This is right, of course, but any of our proposed strongest XI for this season could get crocked or sold as well.
That was our strongest team in 2010/11 player-for-player.
