  1. ? Sorry mate, had totally forgotten. Think that's a great shout and if it can be put back on it will be. Seems they've removed it altogether from this version. This now done. Apparently adds quite a bit of stress to the server, but we should be able to manage it on the new one.
  2. Just to let people know the banner has been changed due to rendering issues on resolutions under 1280x720. Looks better anyway, really, which Jonny pointed out to me ages ago!
  3. That was just Rich trying things out. Dave's being very kind. It was me fucking things up

I do think we'll be alright by the way, but last night was particularly poor.

It's not pretty though, is it? That was one of his major selling points upon arrival, that he would bring us a "better brand" of football. This season has been pretty shocking so far in that respect. Not complaining about the points haul, mind. Where's that "better brand" quote from? Definately hoping for an improvement but not too worried yet. The players we have brought in should get us there but may take a while to gel, and it's not helped when we lack the kind of striker that can give us the confidence to be more adventurous. It's not from anywhere official, just me using a phrase I saw mentioned a bit by others describing this new, passing style Pardew has spoken about, to justify when the likes of Carroll and Nolan were sold.

  8. Aye, finally! Stickies and active users in boards fixed. We're thinking that might be job done. Any last requests?
  9. Aye, fair enough. Thought it was one of Wearside's better attempts in all honesty. Got to admire a man who keeps going on the wind-up after seeing his team get embarrassed yet again by "the Mags", seeing their record signing moving to a joke league in Qatar to escape from them and seeing Steve Bruce in their dugout every week.
  10. We've deviated from 4-4-2 every time we've played it this season, cannot understand why he went with it yet again tonight.

Aye, I was getting very wound-up by it. We did the same against Arsenal when they were down to ten men, which I found even more frustrating.

    Sunderland...

He is a right fucking cheater like His antics for the Ryan Taylor freekick were the best thing about the second half.
  13. Bit of a snide comment there like Teasy. People are entitled to their opinions and I don't think it was too controversial an opinion to say he had a quiet game tonight. He wasn't helped by the style of football, being out-manned due to our formation, lack of options around him and his midfield partner being off the boil, but it's a fact nevertheless. Wearside is a total moron, what's new? He's easily dealt with.

We've matched the start made for points under Allardyce after four games. His next game was the Derby debacle when it started to unravel. If we follow this up with a draw at Villa and a home win against Blackburn things are still looking very bright. The next game is very important as a marker though, because as you mention Wullie it's not nice to see us time wasting against a newly-promoted team as if they were Man Utd. Villa are an established team who have been in a bit of flux themselves and will be a good test of where we're at. I can't see it being at all pretty again, unfortunately. However, as Shearer always used to say when we were a good side under Bobby, "you're doing alright if you're winning your home games and drawing your away games". To be doing the equivalent of that is above and beyond my expectations for this season, quite frankly, but the fixture generator has been relatively kind until November. If we can get to that time having taken 4 points from every 2 games (or somewhere close) we'll be fucking set. I would love to see us play a bit of football on the way though. Tonight was tough to watch.

Aye, that was outstanding. Very good save from Kenny.
  16. I would love to see him try and beat a man on the outside and put a cross or two in. He's quick enough.
  17. That was inexplicable from old Pards, that one.
  18. Pinning a lot of hope on this fella now. Looks absolutely tiny, but he's got to be given a proper chance soon. Him, Santon and Ben Arfa could revitalise this team.
  19. Love it. Only going to get better (in theory) as well.
  20. Did the forum survive during the match by the way? I know it was hardly thrill-a-minute like, but we still almost hit 600 online.
  21. Solid sums it up. Put in a couple of very good crosses and saved our bacon on the line, which I suppose was his job anyway. No real complaints. He did enough to relegate Ryan Taylor back the the abyss.
  22. It's early days with things still, but it's not good. Doesn't seem like there is any sort of plan at present and we've got no idea what our best line-up is.
  23. Seems to be getting stuck in the pitch absolutely loads, lost a lot of the zip that enabled him to spin away from players with ease last season.
  24. That was garbage like, delighted with a point. The timewasting was a bit cringeworthy at times. Felt like QPR had ran out of steam and ideas at the end and weren't posing much threat, would have preferred to see a bit more endeavour to try and win the game.
