  1. From the bloke that made the add-on: Doesn't look like one we can sort ourselves unfortunately, I think it'll just be one of those things people have to get used to again.
  2. Just watched Pardew's press conference on NUFC TV and based on the training footage from today it looks like we'll be starting with the same team who played Villa. Not exactly shocking, I know, but in the eleven-a-side the same front six was definitely present in the same set-up as last weekend. Coloccini was missing because he had today off to give him a bit more recovery time and there was no Ryan Taylor or Danny Simpson either, you'd assume because of something baby-related for both. Steven Taylor was in the same team, though. Later on there's a couple of bits of footage with Ben Arfa, Sammy and Gosling thrown on, after they'd previously been standing on the sidelines, in place of Ba, Best and Cabaye, so you'd imagine they're the options should anything change. Or they'll just be the most likely substitutes.
  3. I'll have a look again mate, seems like it's something that should have been spotted as a bug with the code again.
  4. There has been more stuff getting installed today but it's been alright for the most part when I've been on, certainly no instances like the ones you describe. Honestly I do think a lot of the complaints of a similar nature to yours that people have are on their end, but it's just they spend so, so long on here compared to other sites that it appears to be our issue. When I keep saying "it's been fine for me" it really has. So far we've had an accelerator put in that's sped up the page creation times by over 40% and a special search engine added just today that has reduced search times by a massive amount (no exaggeration to say it's ten times quicker) and appears to be pretty reliable given the heavy testing I've hammered it with so far. We do have an ongoing error in our code that I was hoping would have been fixed by now and I'm pinning a few hopes on this being the reason for occasionally slow-loading pages (and by slow I mean half a second). Most of my page creation times are ridiculously quick though, like 0.009 seconds, which is very good.

Aye, definitely doesn't seem an out-and-out striker. He was drifting about all over at SJP and looked really comfortable/inventive.

I thought he looked really classy up here against us a few weeks ago, but as you say his goal record doesn't exactly blow you away. He certainly appears to have ability, though. I mean, I'm not saying he's not that good purely because of his stats, but you would expect someone who's been playing up front and had a fair amount of game time to get more than 3 goals in 25ish games. Totally fair point, although I don't think he's ever been prolific. He's never really kicked on for them after a very promising start, but he might be one of those who gets a move to a team who plays more to his strengths and really kicks on. Might be one who just vanishes off the radar as well, of course. No idea what his attitude is like, etc. but the lad can definitely play a bit.

  8. How the fuck is that the basis for an article, man? I like Taylor, I like stats, but that's a completely new level of utter toss from Ryder. Little to no context at all and should have a tagline at the bottom reading "THIS MESSAGE BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE STEVEN TAYLOR FOR ENGLAND CAMPAIGN". Bleurgh.
  9. It's more to base an opinion on than either just taking your word or listening to a "collection of tweets from an English, Ligue 1 'journalist', surely? Although again it's a seriously flawed method overall, no disputing that. I think the main point here is that due to your track record people are simply very hesitant to believe anything you say, including your opinion on Marveaux, which is a shame really. The fact you keep dragging it up is hardly helping things, either. Time will tell, at least have the good grace to allow that to be the case. You might prove to be absolutely correct and he may prove to be a great left-winger (where's madras?) for us, and I hope that's the case, but I don't think people are necessarily wrong for feeling he may be of equal/more potency played out right or more centrally based on a selection of clips, tweets and what they've seen of him so far at NUFC. Especially, again, when the alternative is your opinion. Ideally we'll have a three in behind a striker who can switch around all over the place and be effective anywhere in different ways, or a two either side/behind the striker/s who can do the same. Fortunately this does look like it might be a very realistic hope and we may see some very attractive football this season because of it.
  10. I'm not sure how people can knock Phil for having these views really, as it was exactly the same as a lot of us felt when KK was back here. If he'd have been backed with as much cash as Dalglish has I'd have been beside myself.
  11. Not gonna help me out on that one though, are we Sewell? Just leave me hanging, that's right. Bastard.
  12. On Tapatalk so can't check easily, but that's a real kick in the nads if true. I'm sure the rest still stands, mind, although you've made me doubt all of that as well
  13. Ah, I did wonder at the time like!
  14. Marveaux is a winger, despite the claims of many of this boards members (who based their opinions of Marveaux on a collection of tweets from an English, Ligue 1 'journalist'). Hatem Ben Arfa is no striker... Or on the multiple videos there are of him around the net, where he doesn't once get to the byline and put a cross over from the left, which is the phrase people initially took issue with when you said it. Not saying he never ever does it, or is incapable of doing it, but there are significantly more occasions on those clips where he's playing from the middle or cutting in from the right to either provide an assist or score a goal himself. Also a surprising number of good free-kick goals as well... and even a header from a corner. (This isn't all in one compilation, unfortunately, much of it you have to trawl an official Stade Rennais channel and wade through the interviews to find the clips.)
  15. It's really nice on as well. Very pleasantly surprised with it considering how it looked in the initial photos.

Welcome to the forum! I love the politeness of the introduction Hatem is beating Paddy Kluivert now for number of fanboys/fangirls attracted to N-O, surely?

Do you know where we can watch this action please ? Official site, you'll have to pay i'm afraid. Unless you wait a couple of hours, it's on an English show tonight and will most likely be put through one of the regular sports video sites later on. Ok thanks... but i can't watch English shows Anyone has a video of this ? In PM ? Please don't request illegal stuff via PM in public threads.
  18. Might have been ten yards, actually.
  19. This "two assists" thing has made me laugh twice now. Such invention for the five yard pass to Simpson, who proceeded to slice his cross beautifully into the net.
  20. Just to let people know that Tapatalk is fixed and working again, although you might need to re-search for the forum if your saved one still isn't working. The developers of the application were kind enough to pop over and sort it out for us. Sorry about the downtime on it.

The part of his play tonight which shone the most was his eye for a pass. He found Marv' out on the left with ease time and time again, with one long pass starting off our first goal. Prior to that he had dropped deep to receive the ball from Colo before beating 1/2 men and playing an audacious switch ball to Gosling along the deck that bamboozled everybody in the stadium. Was absurd. Showed good signs on the ball with his dribbling, beat a few men now and then and showed flashes of real skill. Lost the ball in a really dangerous place one though, was his only failure of the night. Going to be massive for us! Great comments. Even better when you consider it was his first competitive game for almost a year and he didn't have anything like our strongest team in and around him. Sticking him ahead of Cabaye and Tiote is a mouthwatering prospect for me, even better if Best keeps this form going and Marveaux continues to impress as well. If you consider that as five of our "best" front six and then think the other one comes from Ba/Jonas/Obertan things look rather rosy indeed. That's not even mentioning the emergence of Abeid, Ferguson, Sammy and Vuckic.
  22. Glad he looks like he has the ability to live up to the randomly high expectations I have of him. If he can stay fit he's a really classy footballer and someone who'll just go from strength-to-strength over here. Just seen the brief highlights on Sky and watched the interview with him on .cock and he's looking like another Cabaye type to me. Total package.
  23. These are due a beating up here. Even if by "beating" we're talking a scrappy 1-0 with a goal off Shola's arse, I'll take it as such.
  24. Would love a couple of home draws now. Then semi-finals. Then Wembley. Might as well.
  25. What a guy. I was obviously miles behind everyone there, but went fucking mad when it went in. Get the fuck in!
