Thank God something positive from NE journos. I mentioned before how all the media outlets are stonely death quiet. Think they might have just realised that this is atually serious and is happening. What’s the logic here? I dont get it. Quiet because they realised its happening? Whats the idea from a journalist’s perspective?

It's not like Ashley would be paying for it personally either. It's the club's money whoever the owner is Exactly.

If they are changing them to electronic boards it would be something that has been planned and budgeted well in advance. Why would they put a stop to it just because someone is potentially buying the club?

The only reason I'm a bit sceptical of that is that I cant believe someone would be brave/crazy enough to share that in a way that makes them easily recognisable

I work in corporate M&A - heads of terms are not typically understood to be legally binding. It's an understanding of the general agreement between the parties but this can often be one or two pages max with the actual share purchase agreement being 100 pages plus. Often the terms in the HOTs themselves are tweaked slightly as issues arising with the drafting of the SPA. I guess the 50 years of free SD sponsorship clause wasnt in the head of terms. Oops.

There's no way this Bin Zayed Group would want to lose face with an aborted bid, as the concept of personal dignity, honour and protecting one’s reputation is very important in the Middle East, particularly in the business world. That was always my impression of the culture over there, was quite surprised to hear that anyone with any sort of connections high up would be involved in bullshit like fake bids. well aye but its already happened before with Liverpool Also with their $2billion Telangana investment agreement too. Always full of promise but is there ever actual proof of investment with these lot Where can we find the talk of it being a scam that you alluded to earlier? This is a bit of a comedy show at the moment..will he, won't he? Does he have the cash...doesnt he? Who is he even (to the journalists at least). Does he even give 2 fucks about Rafa? What have his companies actually done? No-one fucking knows a thing. To be honest all this talk in the media from them isn't a very good sign going forward if this does actually turn out to be true. Coming across very amateurish....a bit like their website. That is a fucking HUGE red flag surely. Agree with that. And then I have to remind myself that we're owned by Ashley so I'm fine with some amateur Sheikh having his fun for a while.

I dont think they are making everything up but I dont see why they'd release these if the deal was a matter of days/a week from completion. They are playing something, probably trying to push Ashley. Think we'll be waiting for a while to see if anything happens. E; I mean it wouldnt make sense to be that annoyed if they knew they could complete the deal soon. Then none of this would matter or be remembered.

Because of the absolute s*** from journalists and wannabe twitter ITKs over the last 72 hours they feel they have to come out as their reputation has been questioned. Look they have stated Ashley has agreed and signed off the takeover and it's in the hands of the league. If it's s*** Ashley will be coming out with his own statement very soon I think their reputation would be just fine if they just finalised the deal in complete silence. Actually their reputation would be better since that'd be the professional way to handle this.

Forced how? What would have happened if they didnt release any more comments before the sale was finalised? If there is a sale to be done that is. Smells fishy to me.

You really have to question the motive behind all these press releases. For me they mean that they arent very close at all. If they were what would be the point?
