There's never been a prolonged large scale protesting & boycotting against him. Whether that's realistic is a different matter but to say it doesn't and won't work is complete bollocks. Think that's true for any form of protest. If people are protesting Sports Direct for one or two matches it won't have any more effect. Anything that happens needs to be long term. He needs to know it won't stop until he goes.

While I agree with the idea about putting pressure on SD...not sure the average match goer will be that pumped up about protesting against Sports Direct. A simple Ashley Out is probably an easier approach.

I'm not confident we'll stay up even with Rafa. Last season was a miracle. I dont think it's fair at all to ask Rafa to do that again with the same type of squad. An injury or two to key players and we're down. If we're reasonably lucky with injuries we'll still be in that mix.

I wouldnt say its a clear penalty like. Like a lot of things that's a call the ref can make or not. Neither is factually wrong.

Also ridiculous to go after VAR for that (yes you Shearer). It was the ref's call, all VAR did was give him all the facts.

I don't understand why there isn't another ref looking at the VAR why does he have to go look himself. It's like some old school British wrestling shenanigans building up the tension and working the crowd. It's needless theatrics. I thought there was supposed to be a fourth ref in charge to do that. No way. All the big decisions that need any level of "judgement" (not things like offsides) need to be down to the main man who's running the show on the pitch.

Kind of get the feeling the ref knows the rules and the way they've been told to interpret them better than we do. And he's seen it several times from different angles. Feel bad for Croatia but you cant let stuff go just because its "harsh".

Pekerman’s quite easily one of the better national team managers in world football. They’re also a man down, missing their best player, and are still the better team. Didn't look like it on the evidence of the shape of the team on the Japan goal, but will bow to your better understanding of him. Like I said they have talent but a lot of errors in them and I agree they've been way the better side. I'm not sure there were huge problems with the shape of their team there. Two defenders just stupidly rushed the same ball in midfield. Lack of communication maybe.
