Luiz is on the verge of being a great player. Still only 24, so I guess he still has plenty of time on his side to develop. Undoubtedly lacking in the defensive nous that is almost exclusively gained through experience. Great talent though. Chelsea need instant success though, and they may not be able to afford to have a developing first-team centre-back as a starter. Need to get rid of deadwood like Drogba and Terry over the next couple of seasons too. Really holding them back.

VdV has such fucking class technique. A lesser player would have dribbled towards goal and slotted in, he just swivels and lashes the ball. So glad he and Sneijder went on to become esteemed players in Europe after people questioned their abilities because they played in the cattle market that is/was the Dutch League. Such a bargain for Spurs getting him from Real Madrid at that price - still gutted by it!
