No ffs. Update to what ffs? We'd be updating every five minutes if we updated it for every overheard quote ffs. Stop being such a whingey sod ffs. Ffs.

Dzeko will play. You gotta have faith, faith, faith. Oh, wait I forgot about Nasri. Yeah, maybe not. He will though! He's been amazing. It's like trying to decide whether to get with someone who is going through a divorce, right? Do it.
-
They'd be mad not to play him. He's playing superbly.
-
Dempsey will do something, don't worry Neil. He'll get sent off for scoring an own goal.
-
Making Torres captain - hoping he turns up against Norwich tomorrow. I had a realisation that I'm very biased when it comes to FF. For example, I know that having Suarez and Rooney in my team would be more beneficial than the selections I made - but I hate Suarez diving, and I dislike Rooney/Man Utd too much to support them. Also, they're too common/easy. Rather get big points on lesser known/rated/chosen players. Classier way to play FF.

That's a bit far! Love the compassion though, man.

We're dogshite when that happens If a team sits deep against us, they've won. We pass it sideways, try a few punts, which they mop up with their gargantuan Hangeland of a defender (and in this case, it is Hangeland ), we pass it sideways, we realise we lack penetration to break down a side that sits back, we get flustered, the crowd gets panicky, we surrender possession at the back, they score, we lose.

Maybe we could stick Mike Ashley on the bench as our replacement CB. Very few talented footballers will be able to live with him. Increasingly few, in fact.
-
He's a millionaire though. He owes the club. He should be subject to even stricter standards than a normal human being because he is a well paid footballer. He should honour his contract to the end irrespective of the fact he's been fucking transfer listed by the club (ie - THEY WANT TO GET RID OF HIM), the reality of his working conditions and his relationship with the club owners. He should turn down job security in the immediate future for possible job security in the future. After all, he'll be a season older when his contract expires, and his demands will naturally have to be less, should he see out his contract working for his horrible fucking owners who won't even him express himself on Twitter (freedom of expression is in the ECHR!) about things that fans moan about 24/7 including lack of investment, asset stripping the squad, lies etc. He should wilfully diminish his future earnings rather than leave now while his stock value is higher. And he's everynameunderthesun if he doesn't put the club before his own life. How dare he. Besides, he's getting a higher salary now = therefore it's definitely always been about about money, right? Always has been. What a craven money-hungry inchworm. None of you would do the same if you played for a club you didn't support, right? You all have unflinching loyalty to the shareholders of the companies you work that you never see, but now and again fuck with you. No, no, he should put all that to one side, sabotage his life/happiness and play for Fat Baron Ashley. That's all that matters. He has the opportunity to stay under these woeful conditions, so he should. He owes us. He's not a boyhood supporter or owt, but he owes us. He doesn't have the same connection to the club fans do, but he owes us. And if the club goes into liquidation one day, he should never play football ever again - even in the park with his children. ... Opportunity to stay? Pah. Some opportunity.

Assuming Williamson doesn't recover from his knock, who is fit/available to be our replacement CB assuming (god forbid) Colo gets injured?
-
Probably not enough time left in the window for Ashley/Llambias/Pardew to p*ss on the faces of Tiote/Jonas/Colo. So, nothing until January probably. Hope we get some points between now and then. Thing is if they keep producing on the pitch and we don't get ridiculous bids they will get new deals. The thing we clearly aren't doing is offering silly money, long contracts to players coming to the end of their career. Enrique? Carroll?

Nufc.com talks such bollocks sometimes. Appreciate it's only ever said it reflects the opinions of the lads who run it, but such a shame it will still be perceived as flagship opinion of the majority of Newcastle fans.

Neil/1878: Do either of you have a rough idea of the salaries of various Everton players? E.g Arteta, Rodwell, Fellaini, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Coleman?
-
There's an argument to be made that Obertan replaced Barton pre-emptively, you know...

?? how exactly has he conducted himself well? I presume you are joking? Not even a little bit. The timeline as I see it is this: Okay, very rough start what with the prison sentence and all. After that, he applied himself on the pitch and was one of our top performers. Whether the performances made up for the rough start and outweighs it is opinion etc. I think probably just about comes up on the positive side in that respect. He fought our tyrannical owners (that should be me being comedic, but it's not!) and questioned their policies. He communicated with fans, was honest about what was going on the club and didn't let it affect his performances. The team morale hasn't seem troubled by it either. Look at Arsenal. Look at Sunderland. He shows passion, he screams at players for shit passes, but that's part of football. It's good for football. He always ends up joking with people - even the opposition who stamp on him ffs! His contract negotiations were an uphill struggle from the get go because of the owners. He is getting older, so obviously we shouldn't have offered him a 75k week contract for four years (or whatever it actually is), but if the owners weren't such complete antagonistic arseholes I'm sure we could have sweetened him for a 1 or 2 year deal at around £60k (probably even less, tbh). You have top class older pros like Hangeland who could walk into most top table teams, but a relatively small club like Fulham can hold onto him because they're not run by mongs. Similarly, how many of Everton's top class older players are leaving, or desperate to find a way out of the club (a la Carroll, Nolan, Enrique, Barton)? None is the answer. And you know they of all people could get much better salaries elsewhere. Barton, to his credit, fought to stay here - even when transfer listed, he dug his heels in and said he was proud to wear the colours. He also continued to put in important performances and helping us to four points already. Even though he was docked wages, trained alone and treated like crap in general. Then QPR come in and offer him a great deal, give him a future and show him some respect - what obligation does he have to Ashley to stay? None. He should do what's right for him, and he has. It's to his credit he didn't go sulk somewhere, not train, play (eg Modric, Maiga) during these troubled times. Man, my chronology is really bad... but still, hopefully you see my perspective. Joey doesn't owe anyone anything, except himself. It was up to the club to make sure he felt he could get that at Newcastle. They failed. Well, they would have failed if it was ever their intention to keep him at all - rather than their actual intention to just cut down the Administrative Expenses line on the end of year Financial Statements. Fuck the league table, right.
-
Good luck to Joey (except against us, of course ). Deserves a warm reception at SJP. Conducted himself very well IMO.
