  1. At the end of last season when things were looking good, I never had much faith in him. He's one of Ashley's casino mates. Having said that he's a big improvement on Kinnear and  I still wouldn't sack him given the uncertainty of looking for a replacement. This is fundamentally a good squad (compared to the relegation year) and instability is worse than a mediocre manager. Long term I think we need a French speaker that is a better fit. But wouldn't sack Pardew in January.

  2. I don't want Darren Bent, but signing someone with some level of experience in the Premier League might not be the worst idea in the world given the current set of circumstances. An immediate impact is needed. There are plenty of young (French) players to develop and sell-on for a profit in the future. If the club balk at the price tags for proven PL talent, they may want to consider it an investment in preserving PL income (TV, gates etc.)

  3. Sacking managers usually ends well. Seems like ages. Let's do it!

Pardew OUT. Followed by wishful campaign for well regarded foreign tactician. Culminating in disappointing British has-been.

  4. honestly the 4-4-2 bashing on here is so OTT, we really havn't been that bad

    It's not about being bad.

We haven't looked awful or anything, but the strikers just aren't in the game, and Cabaye and Anita are seemingly being forced to play longer passes from deep a lot of the time.

Unfortunately, neither of the strikers is really adept at receiving and maintaining possession of these types of balls too.

Just feel we'd be a lot more threatening going forward if setup differently. Much like we were second half of the last match. They even highlighted this in the studio at the start.

2-0 down and hardly created a chance (other than Cisse's turn & shot straight at Cech).

OK in spells, but it very closely resembles a bad performance.
