  1. Nothing offensively so far though, Targett gets really involved.
  2. Without the over-exposure, I think at eye-level at least the players can see the difference
  3. Joelinton lets him do that, lets not forget the freedom he's given by the greatest destroyer in the league. But Bruno is probably our best ever central midfielder in the PL era. Now sits alongside Hamann in the middle for me in my own personal Newcastle PL XI.
  4. We could do worse than trying Anderson on the left (as he played for Rovers) and ASM on the right, or vice-versa for 30 mins or so just to see if can hold his own at this level.

I put £50 on us to win the league
  6. It's ok, they've got Maguire and Keane.
  7. Despite his lack of end-product, Joelinton's ball-carrying is first-rate and I don't think we'd want to limit him to being a deeper player that just lays it off.
  8. There's an American actor that used to be in a few things when he was younger, in his 20s, then dropped off the radar, that had eyelids like Cooper and a high hairline, was quite prominent/famous but can't for the life of me think of his name nor any films he was in Thinking 10-15 years ago.

    Joelinton

Validation from opposing fans is strangely very satisfying Can you imagine a year ago a post like this from our opponents, they want a Joelinton-type player?!
  10. This might be a bit OTT, but the feeling on that thread is that their club is going to be in damage limitation for the first half of the season until they can gel. Makes what Howe's doing, under arguably a lot more pressure, and the decisions he's making with regards to introducing players slowly all the more admirable. But then a lot of their fans are still thinking more signings will help alleviate their issues.. anyway! And they reckon Colback was their best player too today which echoes a lot of us on here too.
  11. Don't think their manager was too interested, looked like he was falling asleep at times.
  12. Wilson off the mark for the season, Joelinton with an assist, Schar with a thunderbolt to keep him in the side. Brilliant.
  13. Big Joe with an assist too, have such a man crush on the lad.
  14. The view of the match then be the same as the pre-match experience I normally get when navigating the river
  15. Good to know Howe has someone reading the forum for these nuggets ;-)
  16. We need Burn and Schar on the ball more, higher up the pitch, in order to break down a static back-7. When you've got Bruno/Joelinton on the ball with Almiron and ASM wide, you just cannot go through the middle. But patient play from the back allows our midfielders to move and drag players out of positions more easily.
  17. He's made about 4 interceptions already, thought he's been OK otherwise
  18. We need Schar and Burn on the ball more and with a higher line so we get movement off the ball in the midfield as well as up top.
  19. We've been dominant, but we've got them pegged back so deep that players like Almiron, Wilson don't have the nous/link-up play to penetrate.
  20. He's more 1-footed than a land-mine survivor
