  1. We're not going to match Liverpools ridiculous bid. Yes.... please f*** off. Don't take your frustrations (and obvious mental issues) out on me please. I should apologize on behalf of some of our fans, you're right, some of them have gone absolutely mental!
  2. Rooney went for £30M on similar stats. Misleading and false. Rooney went for 25.6M. You are also omitting the fact that Rooney was 18 when he left Everton, 4 years younger than Carroll and had already represented and scored goals for England in a full tournament (Euro 2004). Not very similar now is it?
  3. Yup knowing our luck, he's gonna have a shit second half of the season and then all those people who said his value is above 40M are gonna look silly and delusional as they are. If this wasn't the last day with almost no chance of a decent replacement, forget 40M, even 35M would have been a super deal.
  4. No but many on here are convinced that the deal is done already based on some fucked up info
  5. Again, where is it confirmed that he's on his way to liverpool. Everything is just speculation. You have a calming effect Neesy. I will be gutted if he is sold (really gutted) BUT thats football, I said the same when Cole, Ginola, Bassong, Martins, and plenty of othersd so its not like we have never been here before. £35 million is BIG money and it could lead us to bringing in some Quality players in the summer. I know that does not help us for the rest of the season but IMO we need 15 points to be safe and I think it is acheivable without Carroll. Neesy has a calming effect until he decides in the very next minute to kick a fuss because apparently the deal is done already!
  6. Regardless of whether we sell him or not, this thread is gold!
  7. what direction? He just rejected a 30M bid. You seemed to have made your mind up...that's pathetic You'll be eating your words if we go down. Well if we go down because Mike sold Carroll and did not replace him, then I'll blame him. Till then, I'll reserve my judgment, thank you Because he's really going to be replaced with someone as good as Carroll, in the next 7 and a half hours. Idiot. The point is he has not sold him yet, I'm afraid the idiocy is on you, add delusional knee jerker to that too
  8. Gosh the number of people who's already kicking fuss before anything has been confirmed is ridiculous....gotta feeling there's gonna be a massive suicide pact if/when he is actually sold

  11. Yup this deal I would take provided of course we spend the every single penny of the 35M to strengthen the team
  12. Nope still don't think it's happening at 35M. 40M maybe, if there is one thing fat Mike is good at, it is to get the best business deal. We don't have to sell + Liverpool are desperate + Liverpool have money = super crazy price, 35M won't do it.
  13. Just a cancelled press conference and some are panicking already...I swear some of you guys will have a heart attack if he is actually sold. Chill man, it's not gonna happen
  14. That I can respect, at least you're being honest that the reason you don't want him sold is because of emotional attachment, not some bullshit that Carroll is a proven premiership striker that should command more than players twice as good as him.
  15. It's probably a whoosh, but if you're serious then £35m is only going about cos it's last day of transfers. No way is Carroll worth £35m. Wasn't David Villa a lot less? He was, but apparently Carroll is worth more than the world's best striker, despite being unproven at Premier League level, because he's "local". That's the point though, he pretty much is proven at the premier league level, whereas all the big names from abroad aren't necessarily going to adapt or like playing in it. Yes Carroll's only had half a season but any premier manager knows he is pretty much unstoppable whether he scores 10 goals in a season or 20. He causes havoc and that is priceless. Sorry man, that's bollocks. "Proven in the premiership" means someone like Drogba or Torres or Shearer who has scored consistently over many seasons. Carroll has scored 11 goals across half a season, that's makes him a striker on hot form, but far from a proven premiership striker. As for being unstoppable, that's only true for headers especially from set pieces, besides those attributes his overall game is still average. Are you seriously saying that you'd prefer Carroll to David Villa on the account that we don't know whether Villa can adapt in the Premiership? Are you serious? The only reason we should not sell is because now it is too late to get a good replacement, otherwise anything above $30M is a fucking good deal.
  16. According to some yes, on the solid argument that Villa has never played in the Premiership (see argument why Carrol is superior to Suarez). With that sort logic, Carroll is superior to Messi! Delusional loonies
  17. quoted for being able to provide an objective assessment. My only problem now is that it is too late to find a replacement, so on that account we should hold on.
  18. I'm with you, worth remembering that his exceelent form was just 2 seasons ago and at the age of 24, he has time on his side. The only way things could screw up is if he himself does not have the motivation to capture his old form, but I think that is where our squad and players like Barton, Nolan, Enrique, Coloccini come in. We have a highly motivated squad and players who genuinely want to do well for the fans, there is a higher chace of these attributes rubbing off Ireland than the other way around.
  19. I'm afraid my instinct is that Ireland will be the last and I'm not happy with that. We badly need a striker especially as nobody knows how long Carroll will be out for. We can't continue on with the awesome firepower combination of Ameobi and Best.
  20. Are people seriously arguing that Carroll is better than Suarez on the basis of his half good season this year? Fair enough if people want to question whether Suarez can adapt to the premiership (though his physical size tells me that he will), but it's not like Carroll has proven that he is good in the Premiership season after season. Get a grip of yourself, stop being delusional, those who think Carroll is better than the likes of Suarez is as bad as Mackems who were worshiping Bent before he left. Utter embarrassment
  21. so is this the end of our incomings? Can't say I'm too impressed, it was clear that we needed another striker even more now that there's so much uncertainty of when Carroll will play again. Depending on Best & Ameobi is gonna make it a tough few months ahead, without enough firepower we could be sucked right back into the relegation zone
  22. still don't understand why he wasn't given a decent run by Hughton or Pardew especially after the Villa assist, looked well up for it too in that game. Oh well...if he isn't going to play, better to cut our losses I suppoe
  23. Well I just can't be bothered to play your game of name a striker. But if you think that we can't get a foreign striker for 25M who has done more than Carroll overall as a replacement, then you're the one who is quite daft or you must think that Carroll is some sort of Drogba, actually that would make you daft too, so ya you're just being daft period. Bye now
  24. sorry to disappoint, wasn't gonna say that...but think we can get a more proven striker (non English) for 20-25M, most probably from abroad. He would not be more proven in the Premiership (and Carroll's half of a great season does not prove much either), but more proven as a striker in terms of overall skills and consistency.
