Are you seriously suggesting that Carroll is a better player than Tevez or are you just looking at goal scoring this season? If the former, you're deluded, worse than the Mackems who think Bent is better than Carroll. Carroll is the better header no doubt but Tevez is by far the more complete striker with better technique, ball control, dribbling and shooting.

Actually our entire midifield deserves a lot of credit yesterday. Notice that everytime Willicinni headed those long balls, one of our midifielders would be first to the second ball. Think Nolan actually did put in a good shift yesterday, and he will have to for the next two games without Tiote.

Apart from the clever backheel to Barton, was almost anonymous. I'll give him 2-3 more games and if he continues playing like this, then I will conclude that the West Ham game was a fluke. Shola's hold up play was two three times better today

Agree - should have left Gosling until next week. Ya Jonas would be useful to waste time in the last few minutes as he can play keep ball and frustrates the Mackem, but I think he took a hefty knock and Pardew was trying to waste time by making the sub, just unfortunate that it didn't work out. On that note, I hope people don't give Gosling a hard time for that, if he feels that he let us down and cost us the two points against them, then his confidence might suffer and that is the last thing we want when he can potentially solve our Smith & Guthrie problem.

he got lucky with taylor being injured too and I suppose you're not gonna mention anything about losing Carroll for quite a few games. If you're gonna include injury as a factor of luck, then at least post both sides of the story

You're asking for trouble by even creating this thread, you'd need more than a full body armor I went for 30M by the way, provided all the money is reinvested in the squad. Many on the forum overestimate his ability just because he is a local lad. His heading is potentially world class but he needs to work on all other areas including dribbling, ball control and shooting. With age on his side, he could of course turn out to be an international superstar like Shearer but right now it's too early to tell and turning down 30M would be foolish
