I hope you're right, and that the players won't be shitting bricks instead the next time we are leading by one goal in injury time...these things can go both ways, make them more determine to put things right or make them nervous should the same scenario presents itself, vicious cycle that can make players lose confidence. This is an area that Pardew must address, good to see that he recognize that the reason why we conceded against Spurs is different compared to the Mackems, but that's the easy part. If this keeps on happening, then it is a big minus against Pardew.

just enough already, you're just making yourself lose all credibility
-
All I hope is that these last minutes points last don't result in our relegation. I'm a pessimist so I still don't think we're safe
-
This is shit then...waited for 3 hours and the big news is that we potentially might sign an injured swiss roll?
-
too good to be true then
-
of course the media (print and internet) are gonna exaggerate the news. What do you expect them to say..."meh transfer news coming up, don't bother to read"
-
can't believe you guys are falling for this...nothing is gonna happen (refreshing page every 10 seconds!)
-
really? Where has all this Man Utd rumor came from? You Not really, I saw it from one of the other threads (Pardew or NUFC transfer rumor), I was merely diverting the rumor to its rightful thread
-
Thanks, that's really helping me feel better!
-
Nice retreat!
-
Keep going I was enjoying it Same ...Kadar is at Huddersfield, Lua Lua's at Brighton, Guthrie hasn't played well for about a year, Ranger's s*** on Pardew's pillow, Ameobi's inconsistent, Lovenkrands is consistently s***, Campbell's spat his dummy out, both Taylor's are f***ed. Apart from that everything's cush.

really? Where has all this Man Utd rumor came from?

I'm hoping he becomes like our Arteta or Cahill, could go to a bigger club but happy enough to stay with us long term due to love for the club and fans.
-
all this transfer talk is depressing. If there is one player that I don't want to see leave, its Enrique. Top LB (probably the best we can get at our current level), model professional, loves the club and fans and no off field problems
-
what's with the rumor that Man Utd is interested? Any links? Fucking hate them!
-
This thread is ridiculously good, surely should be stickied and Kasper given some sort of award/recognition. Best thread in NO ever!
-
Why are we discussing Alan Smith in Routledge thread? Let's go back to wild speculation...that was more fun!
-
So we're not getting a RW replacement then? Sack Pardew!
-
Let me put it on record that I think SWP would be a good signing and that playing regularly for us might bring out the best of him. He can dribble (a little) reasonably fast, low crosses not too bad and he can cut in to shoot...would not be ideal but still a massive upgrade on Routledge.

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season

Yup and he looked so pleased to have given that assist too, thought that would be the turning point for him. -
what did he do exactly?
-
He didn't throw himself into challenges. He was chasing after Bent, bound to happen when the defender is chasing at top speed and the striker suddenly stops, happens even to the best defenders. I believe it's called momentum
-
Fair enough, you made a valid point
-
He's 22 and the best striker in the league, less than £30m would be nowt short of a sick joke. Best striker in the league? f***ing hell... He isn't even the most "in form" striker in the league man. Who is? And don't give me any rubbish about Tevez or Berbatov. WUMtastic! Please, Ronaldo, never stop posting. You have just given an office full of stuffy lawyers something to smile about. God bless your soul. He is the best striker in the premiership. Tevez and Berbatov are scoring in sides that create 10-15 chances a game, while Carroll is doing it in an average. Quite right. It's easy for the armchair pundits to ignore talent that's just arrived, clearly. He's not flashy, he's not foreign and he doesn't play for one of the media darlings, but there's not striker who'd been as consistently good this season. 11 league goals, man. He's f***ing phenomenal. Get a hold of yourself, nothing to do with nationality of being flashy. In fact if anything it's because he is a local lad and fans indentify with him that he is being overvalued. Price for English players tend to be inflated compared to their foreign counterparts not the other way around. Yes 11 goals is impressive but does not tell the whole story. Compared to establish strikers like Drogba, Torres, Tevez, Rooney (when on form), Berbatov (this season), Carroll is very one dimensional. Most of his goals are from headers from corners and set pieces, a couple of close range goal mouth scramble. His main attribute is physicality, brute strength and heading, but aside from his goal against Villa and 'long ranger' against Liverpool, he has yet demonstrated that he has techniques of dribbling, ball control and shooting (which are basic attributes of a complete striker) of those strikers mentioned above. What he has on his side is age and all of us hope that in due time he will improve on those attributes and be a more complete striker, but funny thing about potential...it can go both ways and nobody knows how things are gonna turn out. To compare his ability with the likes of Tevez who have scored goals and created many more, season after season in 3-4 different teams and played at the highest international level is quite frankly a joke and can only come from someone who has black and white blinkers on, just as bad if not worse than those Mackems who think that Bent is better than Carroll.
-
Valueing Carroll became that much harder with Bent's supposed 24M transfer. How do you rationalize Dzeko for 27M and Bent for 24M? I'd say the latter is more due to Villa's desperation to avoid relegation and they are paying way over the odds for Bent. Back to Carroll, 25M-30M still seems about right, but if some desperado like Villa comes along, then jack it up to 35-40M. Before I get a torrent of abuse, I'm not suggesting that he should be sold, this is just my valuation of his value in current market condition
