I understand what he means. Sure he creates chances, but the way he does it is, albeit effective, relatively predictable. Creativity suggests something inventive, outside of the ordinary.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26
simonsays replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
It's my middle boys first time in Newcastle on Saturday - really hope the experience isn't soured by some knuckle dragging morons. -
Left footed though, isn't he? Guehi makes more sense in that regard as he would be to replace Schar long term.
-
Haha - one of the best things I've ever seen on here, that!
-
If Madueke is the one we want then perhaps we could do a similar loan to buy deal as we did for Hall last season? Would explain why we are able to go big on the RCB
-
I remember the first one - it was an error but he showed very good recovery to get back and block it, but I guess you can portray that as a negative. The other two I dont remember, but you havent given much information on them. I'll admit faultless was perhaps a bi of hyperbole but I still maintain he was our best defender at the Euros and is exactly what we need to add to our line up of defenders.
-
Was i watching something different? He was our best defender by a distance
-
I guess everyone's opinion will differ, but I thought he was probably England's best player at the Euro's - he was faultless.
-
Back four of Tino, Guehi, Botman and Hall would be pretty fucking nice. Sorted for the next 5 or 6 seasons
-
So, this fella is in the top 20 transfer fees ever received for a goalkeeper? If any of these back and forth deals looks dodgy its this one.
-
If Gordon wants to leave and we get top dollar for him then fair enough. If he is happy to stay then we keep him - he is only going to get better. Him and Isak should be the players we should centre the team around going forward as they have age on their side and have a high ceiling. As others have said players who have already reached their peak are the ones we should be cashing in on

No idea, but looks to have 1m followers on Insta

Schar was one of the best centre backs in the league last season. Botman has been good but hasn't reached those levels IMO.
-
Like the fact that he can play rightback too - gives us some flexibility in changing which side of the defence we play our attacking fullback on depending on the opposition.
-
I assume the majority of those games will be from the bench. We are talking about a 3rd (potentially 4th behind Gordon) choice striker. If people honestly think we are going to get a 1 in 2 young striker to sit behind Isak and Wilson they are dreaming.
-
If we get £20m for him, then surely £40m for Madueke starts to look very reasonable?
-
are people genuinely concerned about our perceived lack of activity, or is it just that the absence of any solid rumours means that there isnt much to talk about so everyone starts sniping at each other?
-
I guess it depends if the new right winger can also play as a striker, if so, then you would think we can afford to keep an additional winger in the squad
-
Is Arda Guler remotely realistic? Real seem so overstocked in his position and he would be ideal for our right wing.
-
We did pretty much the same thing spending big on two back up full backs when we were crying out for a new right winger. Sometimes an opportunity to sign a player has to be taken, even if the timing isn't quite right
-
I have a weird feeling we will bring in Adeyemi - previously massively hyped but his star has fallen a bit, good age, big enough for Howe ball and can play across the front three.
-
Didn't have a great Euro's from what I saw, but would surely still be mega bucks
-
Guessing your gonna suggest Cherki as an alternative?
-
You must admit that £60m for a player who has gone from being world class to someone who is a liability and whos legs have gone in 2 seasons is not sensible business though.
-
Wasn't expecting a nibble from you!
