  1. Schmeichel for me is the greatest player The Premiership has seen simply because he is arguebly the greatest in his position of all time. How many others since it's incarnation can that be said about?
  2. This sounds melodramatic, but I genuinely get goosebumps when I think about how lucky I was to watch that man play on a regular basis. He really was *that good*. His partnership with Shaun Teale was magnificent. Week after week he just made it look absolutely effortless, and to think he did it without being able to train and whilst being shitfaced half the time, what a fantastic piece of transfer business that was. I can't believe they've put Platt's transfer in, but not Dwight Yorke - 10k to a club in Tobago, several years excellent service, then 13m to Man United. McGrath versus Italy at USA '94 playing at 60%. *Drools*
  3. This is nothing to do with my usual vitrol towards Cristiano but how on Earth is he ranked above Schmeichel? and how on Earth is Schmeichel not in the top 3 on that list?
  4. He'll need to get back on the drugs then first am I right Taylor27?
  5. The reactions on here today as soon as Carlisle scored were an absolute disgrace and you could see them coming as well. OMG WE NEED DEFENDERS NOW! NOW! NOW! MORT AND ASHLEY ARE PLUMS IN THE MARKET! ALLARDYCE BUMS CHICKENS! \o/
  6. Who did Ruben Sosa used to play for?
  7. That man is a true legend in every sense of the word.
  8. Not for me, if we are talking of Inter players then I always loved watching Sosi (?), the South American. Signori too, he was some player. I think Salas only played for Juventus and Lazio. Who's Sosi? SOSA, got him wrong. Could have sworn Salas played for Inter, getting him mixed up with that other Chilean striker whose name now escapes me. Zamorano.
  9. Owen's record at major international tournaments is pretty poor iirc.
  10. At home, no, on the world stage - without a doubt. A better player than Figo for me (just my opinion) but will never get the acclaim. I don't know why, perhaps playing for Wales, perhaps not being as selfish as some wingers are which can work in your favour. There have been countless times when Giggs instead of skinning the full-back, would cut inside and play a square ball to one of Scholes or Keane which Man Utd would profit from anyway. The injuries man, look at the Giggs of '92, he should have been winning so many individual awards man, an absolute travesty. Not saying he hasn't been fantastic mind, I just think there's something extra he could have achieved if it wasn't for those hamstrings.
  11. Controversial one for you now. Ryan Giggs.
  12. I think people forget about the hype around him when he was 18 and after THAT goal. It was mega, especially considering there was no Youtube and 24-7 blanket coverage. He along with beckham were England's poster boys, did anyone see the reception those two got in Asia during the 2002 World Cup? You'd think they were the biggest stars there. Also, when he was 18, he scored something like 18 goals for Liverpool in one season, become England's youngest scorer, and used to whizz past players as if they weren't there for both club and country. People talk about Messi's ability to get past players, to excite, no different to Owen at the same age. IMO we overrate foreign players a lot here in the UK, especially ones we probably haven't seen up close and personal live. I'd say it's the exact opposite and overrate our own something rotten. We do aye, but with more justification given we see these players every week, live and in person, would you agree? It is getting to the point now where our own foreigners if you like such as Fabregas and Ronaldo are being classed as overrated players compared to players like Iniesta and Messi when if anything the differences are minimal if any at all. You don't see the imperfections of your Messi's and such as you dould your Ronaldo's. One argument I've had on here in the past is that Ronaldo lacks Messi's vision yet whenever I've seen Messi he's produced countless headless chicken moments where he's just ran at a player and got himself leg-tied, thus losing possession and looking like a dick, or the Ronaldo of 2 years or so ago. A simple pass would have sufficed. Anyway I hate all this comparing, another irritation of the modern fan and game, which I admit I'm prone to myself. Fabregas isn't overrated the boy is a class act, he has ran the show on countless occasions against more established stars so to speak. Cristiano is overrated as he is yet to deliver consistently when it matters against bigger opposition for Man Utd. I watch Barcelona every week and can safely say I do actually see more of Messi and Iniesta than I do of Fabregas and Cristiano so for myself that certainly doesn't apply.

  14. Ronaldo still should have went down as a challenger for Greatest of all time if it wasn't for injuries, his lifestyle and bad management and motivation.
  15. I'll raise ya - Luis Enrique? I'd say he more than fulfilled his ability when he went to Barca.
  16. 2J again getting his nob stuck in Ronaldo's arse. I haven't compared anyone to Ronaldo, not the Brazilian Ronaldo anyway if that's who you thought my Ginola comment was aimed at. Then you obviously should have put Cristiano down to avoid all of the confusion really. Anyone who has saw Commando and has heard the Girl George comment will no doubt know what I'm talking about. Commando as in the Arnie film? If so, refresh my memory. If not, whatcha on about? *Boy George music is on.* John Matrix and I quote "They should have called him Girl George, it would have cut down all the confusion."
  17. Shearer should have went down as a World great but due to that injury he received and playing for us will never be looked upon how he should of been.

  19. HTT again comparing players to Ronaldo who have no right to be.
  20. Because that round thing the players kick around is yet to go in between the metal posts at the end where the Carlisle goalkeeper is placed and over the white line in between said posts. blueyes.gif Lot of typing for 0 laughs.
