  1. Vaughan's was wind-assisted, a freak goal, whereas Cabaye's was purely good technique. By that logic, we should be hailing Tim Howard as a long shot genius. Pint of bitter marra? Yeah, probably wasn't a fair comment on the Sunderland goal on reflection. Funnily enough, my last comment on this thread saw me be accused of being a mackem. I'm clearly very inconsistent!
  2. Still prefer the space episode for laughs-to-minutes but Cape Feare is a damn fine episode.

  4. Just saw the highlights of their game last night. In their defence, the two times Wigan hit the post were in the same passage of play, so you can't say they were lucky not to be two down because of those shots... (I think I saw that people had said that!)
  5. I've had this in my head since I saw it in a clip show the other day. It really started irritating me after a while.
  6. That's awesome. "can we really trust him? He's... french!"
  7. There must come a time when all intelligent Liverpool fans have a moment of clarity and realise that it's only Luis Suarez partisans who agree with them (all neutral opinions that I've seen have been in support of the ban or at least against the response of Liverpool FC) and that they are on the 'wrong' side of a dispute regarding a player's right to use racist language to another player. I would hope that, for all the displays of unity they are showing at the moment, support will gradually weaken as this slips further into parody, like when it dawned on someone to check whether it was a baby chicken that they were mourning that time.
  8. Just watched the first episode on the strength of this thread. Hmmm. Haven't decided what I thought of it yet TBH. I'm not really into supernatural stuff as a general rule, so it may not be my kind of thing. I can see the appeal for others though.
  9. I still like that character. Even in Darkplace and his cameo in the office he was dry and dead pan, I find him amusing in this. In those comedies, he played people brilliantly who were themselves unintentionally hilarious. Here, he plays the straight man who is there to highlight the absurdity of Warwick Davis, nothing more. You could have Trevor McDonald doing it and probably not notice the difference! It's a waste.
  10. They obviously know their audience. Scumbags.
  11. In fairness, the brief part with Cheggers, Barry, and Les Dennis was funny (genuinely laughed out loud when Cheggers went off to have a wank because "when the idea's in my head..."). The rest of the episode was consistent with most of the rest of the show though, unfunny and unoriginal. I'm only continuing to watch out of habit. If there's a second series, I won't be tuning in. And I still think it's such a waste having Garth Marenghi play a character with no humour too.
  12. [pedant]Surely, that's Stadium of Lights?[/pedant]
  13. Last night's episode was an improvement on some of the others. The bit with the maitre d' was particularly good.
