  1. I don't think anyone's ever managed it.
  2. I can't believe they're starting the lies about who signed our best players again. Keegan / Bassong all over again. Fucking cunts.

I agree, if the reports are true (big if btw). In terms of him receiving too much hostility, what I'm on about is him receiving anger that is by rights Ashley's. Rightly or wrongly, he won't get a chance and will have to do phenomenally well over the next few months if he's to survive. Well that's supposedly why we're bringing him in, as a significant upgrade on Hughton. Otherwise what was the point? I absolutely agree and he's not good enough to be a significant upgrade on Hughton, who I'm genuinely gutted to see gone. It's a different point though really.

He's a c*** of a man, a terrible footballer manager and a friend of the great Cockney fuckers. If he was any sort of a decent person, he wouldn't have been involved in taking Hughton's job before he was even out of it. He deserves everything he gets. Almost every manager who's ever been involved in the game has been involved in taking someone's job before they were out of it, let's not get too carried away on that as if it's some sort of unique trait. I don't rate him as a manager but bear in mind were it not for an astonishing Gerrard goal he'd have won the FA cup for West Ham and probably have had a far more successful career after that. I'm only playing devils advocate here but I genuinely can't understand actively wanting a manager to fail before he's started tbh. Because we're doomed anyway IMO. We're as good as relegated. If we all get behind Pardew and the team, I don't think we'll stay up. So what's the point of making an effort to back a guy that you really really hate when it's not going to make any difference? I guess you may as well give up supporting us then. Maybe we're coming at it from completely different angles but if you'd rather persue a vendetta than support the team then that's up to you. I won't be singing Pardew's name but I also won't be singing against him, he'll effectively be part of the team.

I doubt that Pardew is as innocent as you think. You'll notice I'm not really claiming him as innocent. However I'm also not assuming him guilty based on stuff I've read in the paper or on forums. He could easily have been an utter cunt about this but it seems to me like a lot of people are believing this line because it suits what they want to think about him.

I'm not sure that's any fairer on Jonas

Honestly, I feel sorry for Pardew. He may well be a cunt but there's no way he'll deserve the hostility he's about to encounter, he'll just be the easy and visible target when attacking Ashley. Nobody knows how much he knew about this sacking and how he acted around it but he'll get 100% of the stick without a doubt.

Shame his performance at West Brom didn't say that.

To think we used to say that about Shepherd. I know. How wrong we were. I know someone who wasn't

A die-hard Sunderland fan who's just won the EuroMillions rollover. King of the chavs?
  14. We were a better team with him out before we picked up injuries, unfortunately he has to play at the moment.

Didn't NE5 really rate Pardew? At least he'll be happy.
  16. He didn't try very hard to put a reasonable challenge in before Tchoyi's goal on Sunday. I like Jonas, it's just a shame he's pretty shit. Great on his (infrequent) day mind.

I don't know what he's like as a manager but by all accounts he's a top rate shagger so he must have something about him.
  18. Has anyone pointed out that Ashley's a cunt? Because all I can keep thinking is that Ashley's a massive, massive cunt.
  19. out of all the positions that need looked at, you choose to spend money to replace Jonas? f***ing Hell. Aye, he's s****. Striker, right midfield and right back are all weaker, though. A good winger (either side) would be my second priority after some sort of striker who can get into goalscoring positions more regularly than Shola. Right back could be improved but realistically a good winger is far more likely to help keep us up than a good full back.
  20. Coloccini's elbow was cowardly, violent and pre-meditated. Embarrassing behaviour and rightly banned for three matches.
  21. Honestly my first thought when I saw him in a suit on Sunday was "Keefaz'll be delighted". Probably the worst moment of my life.
  22. But don't we basically say that every 2 years? England (generally) plough through everyone in qualifying, and get hyped to the hilt, before the crashing realisation that we aren't really going to do that well. Yes, I'd consider a lot of it mental, and no, I've got no idea of a solution apart from hope a manager can finally get this complacency out of them (which is what I think the mental issue is). I've just kind of got bored of the same routine. 1996, 1998, 2004 and 2006. In those tournaments we did well and only pens put us out. Don't think it's fair to apply the hype and fail of 2008 and 2010 to those previous efforts. cross 96 off that list, we didn't play well at all till the semi final. Netherlands.
