  1. What a game. When they brought Sir Bob out in the wheelchair I cried. The atmosphere though was fabulous. Tiny little kids (2 and 3 years old) shouting "Shearer, Shearer", the mexican waves (bloody executive box weren't that clued up as to how to keep them going like), the streaker was funny as f*** especially as none of the stewards looked remotely interested in covering him up and the football match went on around him, the Gazza kicked his boxers  :mackems:. Shearer's penalty, seeing Sir Les at SJP again, Jorge Albertz (sorry I know he's German but he is one of my Ranger's heroes), the night was fantastic.

Oh and the new away shirt looks canny on as long as you are under 3 feet 6, any taller than that and it just looks stupid.

aye, i liked jorge albertz, remembering him having a hell of a shot on him. with that 'zidane bit' he's got going on at the back of his head, he looked from a distance like a taller nicky 'midfield collossus' butt  :snod:

It's Joerg not Jorge... German not Mexican! :-)

  2. Everton manager David Moyes says that comments he made about Nigerian players have been misunderstood.

He questioned the true age of his striker Yakubu Ayegbeni and of Nigerian players in general.

The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has written to the English FA asking for Moyes to be sanctioned.

"What I said has been taken totally out of context. I have never before been accused of being a racist, that idea is totally abhorrent to me," said Moyes.

After Yakubu scored a hat-trick in Everton's Uefa Cup win over SK Brann on Thursday, Moyes told the Guardian newspaper:

"He's only 25, albeit a Nigerian 25, and so if that is his age he's still got a good few years ahead of him."

pretty funny older quote from Moyes (for once)

Don't see what's wrong with his comments. Everyone knows Nigerian players just make their ages up.

Agreed, like all english people are clubbing lovers and conservative at the same time, right?!?!? And yes, I am a greedy Swiss guy with no heart and stolen holocost money... Seen?

  3. Selfish b****** actually wants to work for a living :tool:

It is just beyond me, how you can move from NUFC to SAFC (same with all the other rivals: ManU/Liverpool, Arsenal/Tottenham, Inter/AC Milan, Ajax/Feyenoord, Fener/Galatasaray...)!!! Any other club would be okay...but then again: Who else would want him?

Its not like Lee Clark moving. He has been here 6 months, he has had no contact from our club, he likes the area and a possible move to Sunderland in the Premier League could be on the cards. Got to love the overreactions of football fans, if you played for Shef Utd for 6 months and they didnt offer a new deal then your only offer was Shef Wed i assume you would retire then?  ;D

Then he should not have mentioned that he likes it up here... Yes, I think I would take the step down to the fizzy pop league with f***ing Sunlun as the only option! No wait...I am pretty sure!

Jesus. So he likes the North East? Its not a crime to admit that you know.

Am sorry if i am able to think logically about this as opposed to a biased fan but that must be my problem.

    Probably, yes...case closed.

  6. Not sure if this has been posted:

Denmark international Peter Lovenkrands has admitted he would welcome a move to Sunderland.

The former Newcastle winger, whose contract with the Magpies expired at the end of last season, has cited his desire to remain settled in the North East of England as a factor for his interest in the move.

His time at St.James' Park was short-lived as the club will not renew his six-month deal which he signed in January following the club's slide into the Championship.

However, the former Rangers player has no shortage of admirers and the prospect of joining their near city rivals Sunderland is an appealing one.

"Sunderland is certainly an interesting club," Lovenkrands told BT. "The city is near Newcastle where we have settled fine and it would be attractive to stay in northern England.

The 29-year-old will not restrict his options to just the Premier League and the North, although he stressed that it would be his preferred option.

He added: "I would not mind to continue to lay in England and particularly in the Premier League."

    What a wanker!

  7. would you take a punt on lomana lua lua again? he signed a 1 year deal with some team in qatar or saudi last year, which is due to finish in july or so.

he's 28 and i'm sure he could do well for us again, i'm sure he'd fancy the chance to play in the same team as kazenga

    Yes, anytime!

  8. Shearer should have brought him on for the tired Edgar and just put Butt or someone at right back to fill in.

Shearer should have bought him on and beheaded him while holding his pony and then one mighty swing into the crowd. Probably a yellow.

    Fuck off tbh

  9. I bet normally Chris Waddle says Jermaine Beck...........................ford.

and he missed a pelanty recently

Did the Peeker vase it? ;-)

:-) Sorry mate, it took some time to get that joke. Don't worry, I am Swiss... :-)

  10. my apologies to other bayern's out there.

a bit like a german coming on here and saying united (and meaning the manchester one).

shouldn't it be either bavaria munich or bayern munchen anyway ?

There aren't any other "Bayerns" - it is just a region of the Country with Munich as its Capitol. Don't mix it up with Bayer (... Leverkusen / Bayer is their sponsor and just a German brand for Chemicals)! There is only one Bayern (the one that I dislike that much...) :-)

  11. Given wanted out because he wanted to join a club going places which I can understand, but he should have some class and keep his mouth shut. It's not like he was second choice like N'Zogbia was, he was idolised and respected. The club didn't have to agree to sell him, he was on a long contract and well paid.

    Hmmm...

At the end of the day he's like any other greedy b*stard footballer, he happily signed a long and very lucrative contract to play for a club he claimed to love, the moment a bigger offer came along HE chose to break that contract and f@ck off !

Easiest thing for him to do is take a swipe at an unpopular regime to deflect from his own actions, and try to pretend he was forced out and didn't really want to leave.  He couldn't wait to get out once bigger money was on the table.

Cheap shot Shay. Good luck at City.
