  1. I see what you're saying, but losses breed losses and lower confidence as well. Players who 'should be fine on paper' can start to look terrible when they're on a really bad run. Obviously it's Pardew's job to turn it around like.

It really doesn´t help that he every single week, pre- and post matches, talk about getting back injured players..

  2. At 20 he will not suddenly become a top player. But I most say, especially seeing the first team, that it´s something terrible wrong with the coaching in our club when every player that comes up has the same problem.

I´m sure that Sammy would at this stage would be a better player than he is if he would have been brought through at Manure, Arsenal etc. Sure better players around you make you better, but the quality at the developmental system is way more important, and that seems to be none existent. Sadly.

  3. Ba was anonymous when he began his career in France. He gets recognition as professionnal footballer at Newcastle and lately. He's clearly after big money now. That's his motor and motivation.

I genuinely think he doesn't want anything. This is purely a case of agents looking for money IMO.

But it´s his agents. So surly he could just dump them or just not listen to them. Sounds more like a bad excuse. Though I´m not saying thats what they want. The only reason you would become an agent is to get moneys from deals, so.

  4. To the divs celebrating this, I suggest you rewatch the first half against Everton in September. Perch played at right back that night.

Take a look at every other game. We need to win matches and tbh I just hate him. He´s not a footballer.

  5. He needs results and they have to come soon.

I was just looking at the table and I wanted to cry. He needed the results a long time ago and hasn´t. Should have been replaced a long time ago.

  6. Really thought he was going to bury that chance with his left in the penalty area. If we were going to get anything today that was the moment.

Hope he gets going soon. Not sure i agree that if he plays through the middle problem solved, as I think his performances have improved significantly since moving out wide.

His all round game is getting better but obviously his goalscoring is still suffering. Still think rotating him and Ba for the starting role just to freshen it up would work when Ben arfa is back or DROP JONAS!

I´ve said this all season, and even before it started.

I don´t understand this "they both have to play at the same time". They don´t. We perform best with a 4-3-3 type of formation and also add the fact that we have a small squad, so resting one of them at times, only makes sense.

Regarding that they should be able to work together, Ba and him, isn´t true i think. They are both to similar (read selfish), as I said 100 times. They don´t make runs for each either, and if they do, the other one doesn´t even look up.

  7. Reasonably convinced at this stage that his contract is heavily incentivised through goalscoring bonuses. Part of the compromises made during his free transfer because of the potential knee problem, hence the addition of get-out clause and so on. Seems like the kind of thing we'd do because we're terrified of losing money like we did on Owen, and fits with the rumours of him 'only' being on about £40k basic. When he joined the club he wasn't going to be playing anywhere but up front, so it made perfect sense at the time. That changed when we bought Cisse and stuck Ba out wide. He now wants to play through the middle at all times and Pardew is scared of losing him so sacrifices Cisse (or plays the less effective 4-4-2) instead.

I've no evidence whatsoever of course, but it makes sense in my head.

Makes sense because he is shooting as soon as he gets the ball and is never really interesting in passing it. He doesn´t even look up

  8. It´s Pardew that last season talked about him getting forward more I think. Like been said he´s at his best when just break up and release some pressure.

I´m amazed about this selling stuff as soon as someone has a bad spell, especially when we all know what a small squad we has. I can´t explain it. But I think a lot of this has with him being to ambitious and being encouraged by Pardew to be more offensive.

I´m still convinced that he still is a hell of a player that is important for us.

  9. Didn't he say about a month ago that we were going to completely change our set pieces because what we were doing wasn't working?

Someone on here said it's like this scene in Blackadder and that could not have been more true:

Melchett:      Good man. Now, Field Marshal Haig has formulated a

brilliant new tactical plan to ensure final victory in the

field. [they gather around a model of the battlefield]

Blackadder:    Now, would this brilliant plan involve us climbing out of

our trenches and walking slowly towards the enemy sir?

Darling:        How can you possibly know that Blackadder? It's classified

                    information.

Blackadder:    It's the same plan that we used last time, and the

                    seventeen times before that.

Melchett:      E-E-Exactly! And that is what so brilliant about it! We

will catch the watchful Hun totally off guard! Doing

precisely what we have done eighteen times before is

exactly the last thing they'll expect us to do this time!

    so true

  10. He was sacked prematurely and deserved better, yes.

That said, if he was still around our team might still be revolving around Nolan and Barton.

    don´t be silly.

the only manager that has dropped Jonas for Ben Arfa.
