  1. Actually he came on as a sub and helped steady the team. Not while he was our "main striker".
  2. I can´t believe what I´m reading. Sick of this. Done now.
  3. And Shola is shit. He couldn´t do anything right last January. How was our record while Ba was gone? Did we even score?
  4. Who is happy? Did Smith even play for us in the prem last season? No. But he still was a "A-player" that needed to be replaced. As you may know our squad are paper thin and we are looking to be playing twice a week for months. My God if we get injuries.
  5. sorry for the inaccuracy on the Pav transfer. Brinkmanship is not exactly an exact science is it. Business is often about risks and so many things in life depend on the consequences as to whether or not it proved to be a good idea. On the whole, I agree with brinkmanship because over time I think you'll benefit from it more, but in short-term terms, it can be frustrating. Dembele is a lovely player but not even close to filling Modric's shoes. We haven't however lost anyone, so we don't know whether we'd have anyone lined up to replace them. I certainly could imagine Llambias going for someone who was a bargain on deadline day as long as he had been properly scouted and was what we needed. Our transfer style is to do very long scouts on people and then make sure we get the best deal, I personally think it works We haven´t replaced the likes of Best ffs.
  6. And were the hell is these players now?
  7. What is this shit?! We still have money left from the Carroll deal. We have got money from a higher league finish, TV-money and the EL. We haven´t straightened and we have more games. And people are happy Our problem (one of them anyway) is that we hang on to long with one deal. If Lille in fact moved the bar for Debuchy, just say "fuck off" and move on to another deal. We haven´t and have screwed up again. 5th was more than I tought. But I wasn´t surprised that we improved last year. In opposite to others I though we improved a lot. You should always replace the losses (we havent; Best, Lovenkrands, Smith), and this year we also have to make the squad bigger because we have A LOT MORE GAMES!
  8. Regarding spending money. Hasn´t we still made a profit with our transfers since coming up That, the high table finish and more TV-money, and a small sum for playing in EL. And still we can´t sign players. Doesn´t matter if it´s not Debuchy or Douglas. I think there are more players out there that would improve us. What is this "already scouting for next year" if we basically has three player at our list. And yeah that includes Carroll that we probably just stumbled on and seems to spend way to much money at.
  9. I´m no longer angry. Just sad. I sat scrolling threw transfer/transfer rumors and felt so frustrated and almost wanted to shed a tear. Most of the clubs, especially the ones that we want to fight with, has or is in this moment strengthening their squad. And what are we doing? "Demanding big fees for our big players (ok that´s good)"... :'(
  10. Try coming to Manila. All we have is a national team of half-bloods who play once every two months. The only ground in the city is a 20k seater, and it only gets up to 8k unless it's a World Cup qualifier. Our main chant is a mix of hysteric screaming and We Let the f***ing Dogs out. At least you have a club. We don't. Yeah, I could have it worst I suppose, even if that is unbelievable because the Airtricity League is very poor. Can only dream of having a big club like Newcastle to support in the stadium every week and see the likes of Ben Arfa. Sweden had a team in the Champions League in 1999. Djurgården played Juventus in a qualifier 2005, other than that we've been entertained by Gefle IF and Ljungskile. At least our national team does OK occasionally. Couldn't imagine being able to see Ben Arfa in flesh every other week. Unreal.
  11. Someone that is going to sign for Fulham.
  12. I can´t see us be a winner in a negotiation really. The only thing we will avoid is over spending, in our sense. Since we value a player, and the own club is value a player, the only time we will get him is if we value him higher then the club. Before we asked what a club wanted for a player and we paid that. Now we say "take or leave", and if we lucky we get him, otherwise don´t, without really looking what the difference between the clubs is. And that´s my problem right now. Instead of paying £1-2m extra for Debuchy we just leave. Ok if it was £5m, in that case. Leave and move on. But with us it can be a matter of £500k. We just don´t bow for anything. And that is just insane. You need to have some kind of feeling when you should leave your own valuation.
  13. And that is why I hate to read that people is ok with Simpson and that the club is doing nothing even if we has had more than one year to prepare ourself.

What´s the name of that film
  15. It still baffles me how anyone can be content with Simpson at RB and come up with pathetic excuses for our lack of ambition.

    Four MASSIVE months

Nothing wrong with what´s being discussed in this thread. This week is massive. In the long run things could go ugly. Don´t understand why people can´t see that.
