Is Mike Ashley the worst person ever to have been associated with NUFC?
TRon replied to AlanSkÃrare's topic in Football
IMO he won't sell at the first available chance because the price will keep going up. -
Hmmm. Makes me see the Pardew comment that Colo would like to see new players coming through the door in a new light. Still can't see us selling at that price though. It would be madness.
-
Or more desperate as he realises the striker and left back might not be signed after all.

The lesson taken from this is "never sign Big Sam if you want long term success" you fat oaf. Interestingly, while I think Sam's building a side that will get promoted back to the premier he's doing it by throwing money at it and going route one in his tried and trusted fashion. When they get back in the premier they will be stuck with players on their way down who will be hard to shift. They will become the team we might have done if we hadn't made the decision to change the playing staff this summer.

The tabloids are just making up stories to fill the space atm. I'm sure the Valencia interest in Colo story is just a rehash as well. I read those quotes a few days ago.

This is a major fallacy in some people's thinking. People ridiculed the idea that Obertan was Barnetta's replacement but effectively that's what he is. A cheaper alternative to buying Barnetta. The interest in Barnetta is now dead I guarantee you, no way will we be buying two right wingers who would compete for the same spot.

Cuntenkrands. That's just awful. His official nickname is Lovenkrap, I'd appreciate it if everyone stuck to the script.
-
Friday afternoon. Even he's given up the ghost by the looks of it.
-
He must be the bums on seats player Pardew was talking/lying about.
-
Now, now He's sent out to reel these lines off to keep the deflect any criticism aimed at the club. He can't tell us any details other than 'it's not the football club's fault'. He's a fucking liar.
-
Yeah flight probably gets in Friday night around 1159pm That'll do tbh. beats 10 weeks by a country mile. I'd still play him on the Saturday as well.

I have thought that might be the case for some time. The striker pursuit has been half-hearted IMO. There doesn't seem to be any clear target we are pursuing. I do genuinely think Gameiro, Gervinho or Erdinc would have come here had they wanted to and I think our interest in all of them was serious. But seeing as how they didn't want to come, shouldn't we be targeting strikers who do? They aren't the only strikers out there surely?
-
I think the Ghana officials will relent as the season kick off approaches and some compromise will be reached.

"Cheik Tiote - AP expects Tiote to be back sometime this week. AP also expected a new striker in before we went to the USA" Pards and his compulsive lying. tsk tsk.

Good luck to the lad. Hope he proves a few here wrong

Amongst all the gloom it's good to see Cabaye is providing some bright spots. From what the resident French expert on Talksport was saying I don't think people have quite realised what a good player we might have here.

I honestly don't think match fitness or general fitness will be a big issue. He dropped into our team with ease last season. If he arrives back on the morning of the game I'd play him if he was up for it. Derek Wright's out there with him keeping him up to speed. Fitness shouldn't be an issue.

12,000 people turning up today is evidence, if ever it were needed, that NUFC as a fanbase will never be able to stand up collectively, say 'no more' and boycott games to get rid of this lot. Too many people simply don't have the willpower to avoid going to the game, and I include myself in that. and thank god for that. You might think it's worth us plummeting down the table on the off chance Ashley would sell up but I think I''ll take things as they are if that's your alternative. How did you get any of that from what he said? Organised boycotts would make Newcastle football club a pretty unhappy place IMO, not just for fans but players and staff as well. If Ashley's investing too little now, he wouldn't put anything at all in if customers stopped turning up. I just think things could go downhill very quickly. The club appears to be a black hole of misery at present, both on and off the pitch. If we don't sign some good first team players and also lose our first 2 games it'll be even worse than now and that'll be nothing to do with the fans not going to matches. So you think there should be organised boycotts? Never said there should be. You think we'd plummet down the table if there was and that's nonsense. The fans cannot be blamed for the situation we're in. You might think it's nonsense but I think a sour atmosphere would filter down and and have an effect at all levels. It would make the club an unappealing prospect for new players for just one example. I could give you plenty more but it's just my opinion so if you don't agree that's fine.

12,000 isn't a very good attendance, I would think quite a few have stayed away because of our shambolic summer. Less to do with the shambolic summer and more to do with the ridiculous £20 ticket prices. If that had been halved you would have got 3 times as many in.

I think they'll care about paying Tiote's wages for 10 weeks while he sits with his feet up at home. Does he live in Ghana like? what difference does it make where he lives? He won't be playing football, that's the point.
