Shola doesn't look fat, it's muscle and it seems to restrict his movement. Yet he's been described as too languid in this same thread.
-
No, he's got worse as he's put weight on and bulked up. Bulked up how? He doesn't look fat like Nolan. So if he's got bigger it's in relative proportion.
-
The goal he scored did require a certain amount of control.
-
Depends on what we're paying him. He lacks drive and passion true...but he still scores important goals and sometimes shows surprisingly good skill. If he was starting every game I'd understand people being pissed off but it's not the case.
-
I just wouldn't want find we'd signed Keane instead of HBA at the last hour. Because I find it hard to believe we'll sign both.
-
According to that we are going to sign Keane and HBA. If that's true Hughton must have balls the size of coconuts.
-
On the nail. I almost look on this as purely a loan signing as I expect the little drama queen will flounce off after a year. But flawed talent is the only sort we can afford right now so I'm happy to make the most of it while he's here, then if he clicks here and stays on it's a mega bonus.
-
Hughton said before the Tiote deal there might be 2-3 more signings, so I would guess that leaves a striker and defender to come in. If Ben Arfa comes then there will be a defender to follow. All these names like Santa Cruz, Caceida, Miller and Keane are just speculation....we're not going to sign them all are we?
-
Hope we've loosely agreed terms with him before he gets here. The thought of him sitting down with Llambias is bringing me out in a cold sweat.
-
Massive props for Ben Arfa if he after all this drama he still insists on signing for us.
-
After reading all this "woohoo! 300!" shit I am coming to the conclusion the thread was better stickied.
-
It's in the fucking papers, if he didn't have a clue before he must have a fair idea by now.

I'm sure if Taylor is "distraught" at being put on the transfer list he can put things right by instructing his agent to accept the club's offer and sign the contract. After all, Danny Simpson wasn't happy with the deal we offered (£15k?) but he bit the bullet and signed on because he wanted to play for Newcastle...and he wasn't even a local who claimed he loved the club like no other.
-
I hope we get this wrapped up quickly, with Spurs qualifying for th CL group stages I am worried 'arry's got £££s flashing in his eyes.
-
I think it's us or them probably leaning more towards us now as Werder don't seem to be making any definite move.
-
From the Journal. Not sure what they mean by that. Compensation for his value or because he was injured? Compensation because he's under the age of 24? So even if he's out of contract we get compensation? Sounds like a sweet deal. Not too fussed if he stays then. Maybe by the end of this season we'll be in a position to offer a better contract assuming he's earned one.
-
Don't remember him rejecting the Bremen move, wasn't it Benfica or some other portuguese club he palmed off? As far as I know he wouldn't be against a move to Germany.
-
It really is as simple as that. Maybe he can get more somewhere else in which case fair enough he should move, but at this stage the club is probably justified in not handing out big wages to a squad which has just come out of the championship.
-
I think there's not much in this tbh. Maybe if Taylor is sold this window it might happen otherwise probably just a fall back option.
-
Definitely. Would never imagine in a million years a window this good a week back. We still have to agree terms with the Arfa though so I'm not counting any chickens yet. Cautious optimism is the way to go.
-
It says we would be entitled to compensation...not Taylor.

It's even funnier how people have selective amnesia where Steve Taylor and new contracts are concerned. The leaks about Everton and Liverpool ready to pounce a couple of years ago....stories of him wanting away after the Carroll KO....now this. Maybe all that was make believe or Ashley's fault. The regime must just hate Taylor for some unexplained reason.
-
I think we'd have put him on the list even sooner if we knew for sure he was going to walk at the end of his contract. Now it's looking likely we have to try and get a fee.

I would say that the individual performances were better than the team performance. The team was very lop-sided ,for example Ranger on the right wing, and Donaldson a forward, in centre midfield. Made a team performance much harder I think.
