When he tells Pearce to sit down, then get up. Brilliant.

People who believe what they see on Sky. And there will be alot. This german team hasn't matured yet, as good a chance as any to beat them. Don't know why, but feel a bit more upbeat today. Same, we have to make our experience count in this game, cause in the past it's always what's counted for them.

As a player he can't really be faulted, definitely.

You are incredibly boring, like. If Steven Taylor was in the Chelsea line-up he'd look no worse than Terry did the last 6months. http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/2186/tigertd.jpg

Argh. Faith and bullshit are different.

You say that, and I agree, but a lot of people read The Sun, especially for the sport. Tragically.

Never even noticed that. I was going more on the content of the thread. That said, I'm glad that's the case. Initially, before stumbling upon this thread, I did assume Newcastle fans would be more likely to have their feet on the ground. Going by the coverage of ITV, at least, you'd think it was a dead cert we were through and as we know, many people have their opinions decided for them by the mainstream. Listening to the radio earlier, the general consensus was we should be winning this. The general England hype and over-inflated confidence is very, very off-putting. Maybe I notice it more this side of the border, but the coverage and constant referrals to '66 are fucking embarrassing. The assumption we have a right to be winning the WC is misguided and pathetic. You earn your right to that status, and we've far from begun to earn anything.

The vast amounts here, and all the coverage I've seen. You really trying to say most people reckon we're the underdogs and will probably be put out?
-
Not according to the majority.
-
My head is telling this, but I'm going with my heart. That is, we've got a chance..
-
Well, I do hope so. Just fed up with him always getting the benefit of the doubt.
-
I just find it odd that if Gerrard or Lampard are shit, they're laid into, but if Rooney's shit it's "oh, he'll get good soon", "he's ready to burst the net" etc etc. More action, less words please. I reckon he'll be sent off on Sunday.
-
To do better than he has, quite simply. I don't have specific expectations of him, but scoring a goal would be nice too.
-
In my experience, they do. You have to remember, English football fans are seen as louts and thugs, you know.
-
you mean a pole, or a czech,a russian, an israeli, a frenchman,a belgian, a dutchman,a ukranian,a belorussian,a dane or a slovak ? All of which could have a healthy dislike for the English..
-
The sentiment is spot on. There's very little to suggest he'll have a good game come Sunday. In fact, all the evidence points towards another stroppy 90 minutes, given they'll be playing on his every emotion and pushing all his buttons. It is the Germans, after all.
-
And average the third.
-
Spot on.

Next Uri Gellar will be out with some nonsense.

The main things they have are very good organisation, pitch intelligence and positional awareness and they always seem to be fitter and fresher than us. It will take 2 goals if we do it. I never know untill I wake up on the morning of the game if I think we can win. Atm think we are going to pay the price for the first two pathetic performances and especially for Rooney's mental breakdown at this tournament. Think we'd do well to consider not starting Rooney. I know that'll not go down well, but he just seems done, to be honest. Bring him on, all fired up, because, let's be fair, our bench is very uninspiring or frightening.
