That's what I was thinking. Plenty of good managers make shite pundits. We get a host of them. Here's two managers for example that were absolute dogshit: http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Palms/6687/keggy.html http://www.england2006.co.uk/bobbyrobson.htm Glad we never had those two. im not on about making the odd 'bobby-ism', i am on about rabbling on as if you are delirious, the bloke doesnt talk any footballing sense whatsoever

im just stunned that the bloke doesnt seem to have a clue what he is on about! i have never heard ANYONE rabble on so much about complete and utter bullshit, at times, he doesnt seem as if he is all there!

i have to say ne5, i agree, i was a big supporter of us getting o'neill, and i have been very disappointed with his punditry. to put it bluntly, the bloke talks bollocks 99% of the time
  4. my mate archie won it for us! archie was the keeper at west allotment, the benfield and he played aginst our young'uns in the cup final for blyth. spoke to him before and he was at the after party at the copthorne! lucky bastard! bluebiggrin.gif and a headline on nufc.com to boot! well done my son!
  5. based on what i have seen over the last 5 years, i would take henry over kuyt anysay.
  6. is it just me who liked the look of him?? i dont think he is suited to plying on his own up top because he looks like he enjoys going wide and dropping deep, but i think he looked good tonight. i liked him. not sure about £10m + but £7m ish would be a good deal imo
  7. in the same way as me and baggio have been reading different books, we have been watching different games! wtf?! he thought kuyt looked shite tonight! i certainly didnt!
  8. in the same way as me and baggio have been reading different books, we have been watching different games!
  9. well he went to freddy and asked him, and freddy said no, he wouldnt have done that otherwise would he! i went to a beardsley talk in a couple of years ago, and he said that bobby wanted to sell him to liverpool anyway, thats by the by now, kuyt looks quality!
  10. anyway, back on to kuyt, go and get him glenn!
  11. That's ok then. A great difference between that and Bellamy also seeking clarification on his place. bluewink.gif i dont recall the manager trying to sell bellamy though, do you? I don't recall Robson trying to actively sell Shearer either. I would have forgiven him had he done so though, right from the start he was aware of Shearers power and at the later stages it was clear that the inability to drop shearer was inhibiting our play. Strangely enough, Robson was dismissed almost immediately after omitting Shearer from the starting XI for a league match. Anyway, here is what Robson had to say regarding Shearer leaving. read bobbys book, you will find that he did try to sell shearer to liverpool to bring in mpenza You've read a different book to me if thats the case... i dont think i have, liverpool bid, bobby went to freddy and explained that he could use the money to buy mpenza, freddy said he couldnt sell 'the crown jewls'. what did you read like??? ahem mr baggio! bluebiggrin.gif I can't even remember writing that! bluebiggrin.gif

  14. and you honestly think bobbys dismissal had anything to do with him dropping shearer against villa??? come off it

  16. Amazing how many people backing Bellamy by saying he loved us seem to forget this quote from when we bid for Rooney. .................... when confronted with the possibility of non-guaranteed selection for the 1st team - ie. following Kluivert's arrival, with a Kluivert/Bellamy 1st choice strikepairing on the horizon - didn't Shearer similarly question his own future at the club. Yet Shearer's "love for the club" hasn't been similarly compromised in many a supporter's eyes. Perhaps it's a case "hear no evil, see no evil" where certain individuals are concerned. From nufc.com's Match Reports. Alan Shearer told the Chronicle: "I think it would be great if we signed Rooney. "He will be a fantastic asset and a great investment for this football club. "It would be a great coup for the city and for the club if we can attract him here. "If he is thinking about going abroad to Real Madrid or whatever then he can do that in four or five years time. He is only 18 and he is still effectively learning his trade. "He will only be 22 or 23 in four years time so he's got plenty of time on his side and I think it would be a great step for him." "Obviously it's all up in the air at the moment. Yes he would put my place under threat. It would put everyone under threat. So what? "If he can come in and do well, then great. It's always been the rules of football if someone comes in and does well, you support him and say well done. "We are all in it for this football club and if Rooney comes in and improves us, then we are all for it and I am 100% behind that. "If we can get him it would be brilliant." The comments i refer to, when Shearer in a decidely more eloquent and media friendly manner left a distinct impression that he'd indeed look after his own interests in the event of SBR no longer guaranteeing him regular 1st team football, took place earlier in that particular transfer window ie. around the time of the Kluivert transfer. Somebody will find them although i'm certain they won't be found on dot.cock. "If the manager said to me I wasn't going to be a regular, I'd have to consider things. I want to play as much football as I can in my last season. I think there's a good year left in my legs. I was pleased with passing 20 goals again last season and I hope I do the same, if not better this year." that was around the same time that bobby wanted to sell him to liverpool though (i think) That's ok then. Its Roeder

And I cannot believe the LMA's Geordie bosses John Banwell and Frank Clark are so negative in their views towards Roeder, who just happens to be one of their paid-up members. Whatever happens, Roeder will be in charge at St James' Park, no matter what title he carries. He will have Alan Shearer back at his side after the legendary striker takes a season off to do some TV commentating and some ambassadorial work with Umbro, as well as spending more time with his family. In the meantime, Roeder will have to decide who he also wants alongside him, with people in the game saying in Tommy Craig United have one of the best coaches in football. Roeder himself is a coach, but if he wants a bit of help from Craig this would open the door for Lee Clark to take over the United Reserve team. Roeder's main aim is to try and get United into Europe in the last two games at Birmingham City and at home to Chelsea a week on Sunday, but in between all this he has also been trying to look at next season. He advised the board to monitor Ruud van Nistelrooy's situation at Manchester United, and twice despatched his chief scout, David Mills, to travel to Holland in recent weeks to run the rule over Feyenoord's goalscoring striker Dirk Kuyt. And he is finding time to talk to the fans - free of charge. Tomorrow's talk-in at Montgomery's, in Stanley, for the local Royal FC is already a sell-out, and a week tomorrow Roeder will be at Wallsend Labour Club doing his bit for the renowned Wallsend Boys' Club. There is a feel-good factor at St James' Park these days - something which was typified when Shearer hobbled into the Players' Lounge on crutches before the game with West Brom. For Shepherd quipped: "Hey this is the Players' Lounge, not the ex-Players' Lounge" - and Shearer nearly fell off his crutches laughing.

Ya wha? if the fa refuse to wait for roeder to get his badge, we will 'appoint' craig until roder does it. he is 80/1 They won't pay out on that mate. They're at pains to point out that "caretaker, interim etc" doesn't apply. i dont think we can appoint another 'caretaker' or 'interim' though can we?? he will have to be named permenant manager and then 'step down' so to speak
